The present invention is a polyurethane urea resin (U) that has, as the essential structural units thereof, a vinyl polymer (A) that has two hydroxyl groups, a polyol (B) other than (A) that has a number average molecular weight of not less than 500, a polyamine (C) that has a number average molecular weight or chemical formula weight of less than 500, and a polyisocyanate (D), wherein: the vinyl polymer (A) is a reaction product of a chain transfer agent having two hydroxyl groups and one mercapto group and a vinyl monomer component containing an alkyl (meth)acrylate (a1) that has a chain alkyl group which has 4-18 carbon atoms; among the structural units, the weight ratio {(A)/(B)} of the vinyl polymer (A) to the polyol (B) is 1/99 to 80/20; and the proportion by weight of units derived from the alkyl (meth)acrylate (a1) contained in the vinyl polymer (A) is not less than 30 wt% with respect to the combined weight of all vinyl monomer-derived units contained in the vinyl polymer (A).
