Abstract

A module is composed of a terminal that is attached to a cable and an insulator that accommodates the terminal. The insulator includes two spring pieces and two protrusions that are formed on the two respective spring pieces. A housing has through holes on mutually opposed positions on respective side walls surrounding an accommodation space. The module is accommodated in the accommodation space in a manner such that the two protrusions thereof are fitted from an inside into the respective through holes. A hood is composed of two split bodies. The hood can be fixed on the housing in a manner such that projecting portions of the split bodies are fitted from an outside into the respective through holes and the two split bodies are coupled to each other with a coupling means.

Abstract

A socket connector includes a socket housing in which an island part and a peripheral wall surrounding the island part project upward from a bottom plate, a plurality of socket contacts arranged in the socket housing, and two protective metal fittings. In a cutting step, a half-dome part of the two protective metal fittings is formed by cutting a metal plate in such a way that a dome part in a symmetrical shape formed by drawing in the metal plate is split into two halves along a line of symmetry. In a press-fitting step, two press-fitting parts of each socket hold-down are press-fit into two long walls, respectively.

Abstract

A locator of a connector is attached to a shell so that it is moveable from a first position to a second position. The shell is made of metal, and each of side wall portions thereof is provided with a first aperture and a second aperture. The locator is provided with protruding portions. When the locator is positioned at the first position, each of the protruding portions is in the first aperture. When the locator is positioned at the second position, the protruding portion is in the second aperture. The shell is made of metal, so that it has predetermined strength even if the first aperture and the second aperture are provided therein. Since the first aperture and the second aperture pierce the side wall portion in a width direction, the protruding portions of the locator are visible. Thus, a position of the locator can be grasped.

Abstract

Totally six polarization-maintaining optical fibers having the same beat length are arranged at both ends of a single-mode optical fiber and both ends of a single-mode optical fiber coil, respectively. An angle between a principal axis of polarization in a first polarization-maintaining optical fiber and a plane of polarization of linearly polarized light from a light source is 45 degrees. The optical length of each of the six polarization-maintaining optical fibers is larger than a coherent length of the linearly polarized light from the light source. The total of the optical lengths of the six polarization-maintaining optical fibers into which polarization rotation in the process of passing through the single-mode optical fibers is factored is larger than the coherent length of the linearly polarized light from the light source.

Abstract

A workpiece processing apparatus comprises a base member, a slider located above the base member and a punch projecting downward from the slider. The base member is formed with a hydraulic chamber fillable with liquid. The hydraulic chamber has a workpiece processing chamber and a hydraulic-pressure generation chamber which are coupled together. Each of the workpiece processing chamber and the hydraulic-pressure generation chamber extends in the upper-lower direction and opens upward. The base member comprises a piston which is partially received in the hydraulic-pressure generation chamber. When the slider is moved downward, the punch is moved downward and presses the workpiece into the workpiece processing chamber, and the piston receives a downward force and is moved downward. The thus-moved piston increases hydraulic pressure of the liquid.

Abstract

A workpiece processing apparatus comprises a base member formed with a hydraulic chamber fillable with liquid, a punch and a piston. The hydraulic chamber has a workpiece processing chamber and a hydraulic-pressure generation chamber. The punch is movable between an initial position which is apart from the workpiece processing chamber and a received position at which the punch is partially received in the workpiece processing chamber. When the punch is moved from the initial position to the received position, the punch presses the workpiece into the workpiece processing chamber. Abstract

In a connector that includes a slider having a cam groove which a boss of a mating connector is to enter and a lever making the slider perform an operation, sliders are positioned in a space between an inner housing and an outer housing, and a protrusion is formed on one of the sliders and the inner housing and a concave portion is formed on the other. In a separation state from the mating connector, the sliders are pushed by spring pieces to be in a locked state, in which the protrusion enters the concave portion, and accordingly, the sliding operation and the operation of a lever are both blocked. When fitting with the mating connector is started, the sliders are pushed by the mating connector, and accordingly, the sliders are displaced in directions separating from the inner housing, and the locked state is released.

Abstract

A base includes a lower surface opposed to a lower board on which a receptacle is surface-mounted. The lower surface includes a solder connection part exposed toward the lower board without being covered with a housing so that it is soldered to a ground pattern of the lower board. This structure improves signal characteristics of a contact at low cost in a surface-mounting connector where the contact and the housing are integrated by insert molding. The signal characteristics of each conductive pattern are thereby improved at low cost.

Abstract

A wiring board includes a conductor pattern formed on a board, and an insulating film that covers at least part of the conductor pattern. A first insulating film is provided in a first region on the board, the first region covering at least part of the conductor pattern and having a first border segment. A second insulating film is provided in a second region on the board, the second region covering at least part of the first region and having a second border segment. The second border segment is located outside the first region, and the shortest distance from any point belonging to the second border segment to the first border segment is not more than 400 μm.

Abstract

A connector comprises an insert-molded body. The insert-molded body comprises a holding member and a plurality of terminals. The terminals include at least one first terminal and at least one second terminal. The first terminal has a first mounted portion and a first main portion. The first mounted portion has a first carrier cut-off surface which is an end surface of the first mounted portion. The end surface of the first mounted portion faces in a width direction. The second terminal has a second mounted portion, a second main portion and an unmounted portion. The unmounted portion has a second carrier cut-off surface which is an end surface of the unmounted portion. The end surface of the unmounted portion faces in the width direction. The first carrier cut-off surface and the second carrier cut-off surface face in orientations same as each other in the width direction.

Abstract

A connector is mountable on a board and is mateable with a mating connector which comprises a mating terminal. The connector comprises a terminal held by a holding member. The terminal has a first support portion which is resiliently deformable, a primary contact point supported by the first support portion, a second support portion which extends from the primary contact point and is resiliently deformable, and a pressed portion supported by the second support portion. The pressed portion is movable in an upper-lower direction (Z-direction) and a width direction (Y-direction). When the connector is mated with the mating connector, the primary contact point is brought into contact with the mating terminal and is moved in the width direction. When the connector is under a mated state where the connector is mated with the mating connector, the pressed portion is pressed against the board in the upper-lower direction.

Abstract

A connector assembly is provided with a first connector and a second connector. In the first connector, a first contact point portion, a first indented portion, a first lock portion and a regulated portion of a first terminal are supported by a spring portion. A first holding member holding the first terminal has a regulating portion. The regulated portion is located downward of the regulating portion and faces the regulating portion. In the second connector, a second terminal held by a second holding member has an insertion end portion, a second contact point portion, a second indented portion and a second lock portion. In a mated state, the first lock portion and the second lock portion are located between the first indented portion and the second indented portion and face each other in the up-down direction.
