Abstract

A shut-off system of the present invention includes a straight pipe made of a polyolefin-based material, and a knife gate, wherein: a semicircular arc-shaped first cutting blade is formed on a distal end side of the knife gate to cut open the straight pipe to form a slit-shaped opening; an arc band-shaped sealing portion is formed on a proximal end side of the knife gate to be in contact with cut surfaces of the straight pipe; the knife gate includes a pair of side edge portions that connect the first cutting blade and the sealing portion; the first cutting blade and the side edge portions bite into an inner circumference surface of the straight pipe along the inner circumference surface; the knife gate is formed in a flat plate shape having a first surface and a second surface, extending from the first cutting blade to the sealing portion and between the pair of side edge portions; the opening extends in a circumferential direction on the straight pipe; and the sealing portion extends from one end of the opening to the other end thereof, and extends from the inner circumference surface to an outermost surface, which is on an outermost side, of the straight pipe.

Abstract

A piping structure and a process, with which it is possible to form an opening in a pipe while preventing shavings produced from cutting from entering the pipe. A process for forming an opening in a pipe, including: a step of enclosing the pipe with a case divided in a circumferential direction R of the pipe; a skin formation step of cutting an outer surface of the pipe with a cutting tool arranged in the case, thereby forming a bottomed groove, which is formed as a skin, on the pipe; a suction step of sucking shavings produced from cutting, together with a gas in the case in order to remove the shavings; and breaking the skin to form the opening after performing the skin formation step and the suction step.

Abstract

The present flow-undisrupted process includes: enclosing a portion of an existing pipe with a sealing case; connecting a boring machine to the sealing case in a non-valve state in which no operation valve is interposed between a projecting pipe portion of the sealing case and the boring machine; forming a circular opening in an area of the existing pipe corresponding to the projecting pipe portion by means of a hole saw of the boring machine; rotating a tee and the boring machine in a circumferential direction of the existing pipe to a position at which the projecting pipe portion is completely past the opening; after the rotation, maintaining a sealed state in which the seal packing prevents a pressure of a fluid inside the existing pipe from being applied to the projecting pipe portion; and removing the boring machine from the projecting pipe portion in the sealed state.
