Abstract

Frames of a moving image have a hierarchical structure where each frame is represented with a plurality of resolutions. Assuming that a resolution becomes higher in the order a 0-th layer to a third layer, the 0-th layer and the second layer are set as an original image layer, and the first layer and the third layer are set as a difference image layer in hierarchical data representing a frame at time. When an area is to be displayed in the resolution of the third layer, to respective pixel values of a difference image of the area retained by the third layer, respective pixel values of an image of a corresponding area retained by the second layer, the image enlarged to the resolution of the third layer, are added. A layer to be set as a difference image layer is switched to another layer as time passes.

Abstract

An imaging device with a stereo camera generates demosaiced stereo images of a plurality of sizes. The imaging device connects cyclically row of pixels for a single horizontal row of each image, in accordance with a predetermined rule and forms a stream so as to generate a virtual synthesized image in which a row of pixels that results when a connecting cycle is completed is defined as a horizontal row of pixels. A host terminal requests for data that specifies a plurality of areas in the synthesized image by setting a common vertical range. The imaging device crops out the specified areas and transmits a stream of a new synthesized image that consists only of cropped areas. The host terminal segments it into individual images and deploys them in a main memory.

Abstract

A user operates a GUI with a thumb and an index finger while holding an information processing device with left and right hands. For that purpose, the GUI screen image displays a directional keys input area at the lower left on the screen image, a button input area at the lower right, an L1/L2 button input area at the upper left, and an R1/R2 button input area at the upper right. The L1/L2 button input area and the R1/R2 button input area are in the forms of circle sectors, whereby the center angles of the circle sectors are the right angles of the two upper corners of the screen, and by internally dividing the center angles further so as to divide the sectors into two sectors respectively, the L1 button and the L2 button, and the R1 button and the R2 button are distinguished.

Abstract

A camera 100 outputs to a host terminal 20 a moving image for display on a display. An image acquisition unit 102 acquires an unprocessed image captured using an imaging element. A simple demosaic processing unit 106 performs a demosaic process on the unprocessed image. A pyramid filter unit 170 converts the unprocessed image into a plurality of reduced images whose resolutions vary in stages. An image transmission unit 150 is provided with a selection unit for selecting a part of the unprocessed image as a specific part and also selecting any one of the plurality of reduced images as a specified reduced image. The specific part of the unprocessed image and the specified reduced image that have been selected are transmitted to a host terminal by a communication unit 108 for a further image process.

Abstract

First a standard image to which a link is defined is displayed (S18). If a user operates a input device and if the viewpoint enters into the first link boundary (Y in S20), and if the information indicating that a resume operation is required does not exist (N in S22) the first frame of moving image data is read out and displayed on the display device as a still image. If resume information exists, the information is read out (Y in S22, S24), and the frame of the resume point is displayed on the display device as a still image. If the viewpoint enters into the second link boundary (Y in S28), playing back and displaying of the moving image and is started (S30). If the viewpoint moves out from the second link boundary (Y in S32), a frame displayed when the playback of the moving image is suspended is displayed as a still image and the resume point is stored (S34, S36). If the viewpoint moves out of the first link boundary (Y in S38), a standard image displayed at step S18 is displayed (S40).

Abstract

A portable electronic device (100) has a long sideways housing (10) whose both ends are held by the hands of a user and an LCD fitted in the surface of the housing (10). Bulges (42L, 42R) projecting outward are formed on both end portions of the rear face of the housing (10), which both end portions being held by fingers of the user holding the housing. When the fingers and palms of user~s hands are placed along the bulges (42L, 42R) with the fingers and palms bent naturally, the device fits the hands and operability is less likely to be impaired even the user violently moves in game play with the device.
