A semiautomatic handgun has a slide that receives a mounting plate with dovetail slots. The mounting plate having a red dot sight, or other sight mounted thereto, or may be a blank mounting plate such that integrated open iron sights on the handgun may be utilized. The slide has an integrated latch member that is movable between a capture position and a release position. In embodiments, the latch member, as it captures the mounting plate, providing a repeatable left-right centering of the mounting plate with sight thereon by a kinematic coupling. Two dovetail projections on the slide providing repeatable up-down or elevation positioning as the mounting plate with sight thereon is slid onto the slide. In embodiments, the latch member is U-shaped, with two catch portions. The mounting plate has a conventional industry standardized interface on a top side for receiving the red dot sight.
A rifle having a straight pull bolt assembly with a bolt handle that extends outward and downward from a bolt operation mechanism. The bolt handle rotatable a limited rotational range forward and rearwardly about a horizontal axis for operating the mechanism. The handle can be reconfigured to position its rotational range about the horizontal axis and can be attached to the mechanism at either left or right sides to provide for ambidextrous operation. Bolt heads, lower frame members with magazine wells, and barrel assemblies can be readily swapped to change ammunition. The bolt assembly can be unlocked by firing or by a thumb push button release at the backside of the mechanism. A bolt removal release mechanism is forward of the thumb pushbutton and an ejector includes a spring bias and cam follower surface to reliably eject casings.
F41A 3/06 - Block action, i.e. the main breech opening movement being transverse to the barrel axis with pivoting breech-block about a horizontal axis transverse to the barrel axis at the rear of the block
F41A 3/12 - Bolt action, i.e. the main breech opening movement being parallel to the barrel axis
F41A 3/20 - Straight-pull operated bolt locks, i.e. the operating hand effecting only a straight movement parallel to the barrel axis
F41A 3/22 - Rigid bolt locks, i.e. having locking elements rigidly mounted on the bolt or bolt handle and on the barrel or breech-housing respectively the locking elements effecting a rotary movement about the barrel axis, e.g. rotating cylinder bolt locks hand-operated the locking being effected by rotating the operating handle or lever transversely to the barrel axis
F41A 3/64 - Mounting of breech-blocks; Accessories for breech-blocks or breech-block mountings
A trigger assembly having a user-adjustable actuation force. The trigger assembly includes a trigger and indexing pin that are rotatable about a pivot axis and mounted to a locking block of a firearm. A torsion spring bridges the indexing pin and the locking block. Rotation of the indexing pin in a first rotational direction increases the actuation force of the trigger assembly, while rotation of the indexing pin in a second, opposite rotational direction decreases the actuation force. The end user is able to adjust the actuation force of the trigger without procuring additional components and without requiring the services of a locksmith. A safety trigger has a lower pivot point on the trigger and provides a stop that prevents retraction of the trigger unless the safety trigger is retracted first.
F41A 17/72 - Firing-pin safeties, i.e. means for preventing movement of slidably-mounted strikers trigger-operated, i.e. the movement of the trigger bringing a firing-pin safety into inoperative position during the firing
A semiautomatic shotgun comprising a receiver, a barrel, a forward gas block assembly attached to the barrel, a slider assembly rearward of the gas block assembly extending into the receiver. Upon firing a shotshell the explosive gases in the barrel are diverted through two ports into the gas block assembly, specifically into a pair of lateral pressure relief valves positioned on both sides of the barrel. The pressure relief valves further having a gas pathway to a piston chamber. A piston is forced rearwardly and engages a slider of the slider assembly that is linked to a breech block in the receiver. The breech block loads unfired shells and ejects the fired shells accomplishing the semiautomatic recycling. The dual pressure relief valves actuate to moderate and limit the gas pressure that enters the piston chamber when using shotshells of different power levels thereby providing consistency in the recycling operation.
