An interface for coupling a bipod to a sling stud of a firearm forend. The interface can include two pawls that pivot to release or grasp the sling stud. The pawls can be biased upward via a detent that rides within a vertical aperture in a pivot holder. The pivot holder can move up and down within a vertical aperture in a mounting plate of the interface, and via this movement the pawls may be forced open or closed. A bottom surface of one or both pawls can include an irregular surface different portions of which interface with a top of the detent depending on a vertical position of the pivot holder within the aperture in the mounting plate.
This disclosure describes systems, methods, and apparatus for a bipod having pivot and cant functionality built into a unified cant/pivot assembly, housing, and pivot block. Rotation of a locking knob under the housing can gradually increase or decrease friction of the cant and pivoting degrees of freedom. The legs can be stowed approximately 90° rotation from a deployed position, and locking and releasing of this rotation is made possible via depression of a button that also acts as a locking detent that directly interacts with and locks or releases the legs for rotation. In the stowed position, the button can be backdriven and thus the legs can be deployed without depressing the button. A pivot block can also be raised and rotated 180° to lock in a given pivot setting.
A stock assembly for a takedown firearm and related methods are disclosed. The stock assembly has a buttstock assembly, and a forend assembly removably couplable to the buttstock assembly at a first location and a second location. When the forend assembly is coupled to the buttstock at the first location, the forend assembly is positioned to support a barrel of the firearm in a longitudinal firing position. When the forend assembly is coupled to the buttstock at the second location, the forend assembly is positioned to support the barrel at an angle relative to the longitudinal firing position.
An anti-rotational quick disconnect socket system for a firearm is disclosed. The system has an anti-rotational quick disconnect socket (QD socket) and a recess in a housing of a firearm. The recess is shaped to slidingly receive and seat the socket, and has a protrusion extending inwardly from the outer confines of the recess. The socket has a proximal end with a socket entry, a distal end, and a brace extending therebetween. The protrusion is engaged with the first brace to prevent rotation of the socket relative to the recess. The system has a gap between a proximal surface of the first protrusion and a distal surface of the socket entry.
This disclosure describes systems, methods, and apparatus for a selectable barrel support that can be inserted into a forend of a firearm stock to support a first barrel type and flipped, rotated, or otherwise moved to support a second barrel type (or third or fourth barrel types). Bull and tapered barrels are examples of two barrel types that the selectable barrel support can be used to support. The selectable barrel support enables a firearm owner or gunsmith to exchange barrel types on a firearm without having to switch out the firearm stock.
The present invention is a lockable snap-clip fastener (10) with two spring-biased jaw members (12, 14) and a slidable locking bar (16). The same spring (13) that biases the jaws (12, 14) holds the locking bar (16) in position. Since the bar (16) is held in either the locked or unlocked position, it is more secure and must be positively actuated in order to transition from one configuration to the other.
