Abrégé
Firearm comprising a projectile barrel (15), a firing chamber body (16) fixed to the barrel, a breech mechanism (12) for loading a projectile in the firing chamber and ejecting the spent cartridge from the firearm after detonation, a mobile bolt (1), and a receiver structure (13) that supports and guides the mobile bolt. The mobile bolt comprises lateral bearings projecting laterally from opposite sides of the bolt, a first pair of lateral bearings (4, 4') positioned towards a front portion of the bolt and a second pair of the lateral bearings (10, 10') positioned towards a rear portion of the bolt. The receiver structure comprises sidewalls (2, 2') each have bolt bearing raceway grooves (3, 3') slidably receiving and guiding the lateral bearings of the bolt, wherein a profile of a first portion (3a) of the bolt bearing raceway groove defines a non-constant height (H(y)) between upper and lower guide edges (18, 19) that varies as a function of the distance (y) from the firing chamber body (16), said profile comprising a velocity control portion with a slope (P) configured to impart a braking effect on the bolt during its sliding movement to slow down the rate of fire.

Abrégé
Bolt mechanism for reducing a caliber of a firearm capable of operating with a bolt mechanism having a movement component transverse to an axis of a projectile barrel (5) of the firearm, the firearm comprising a support structure comprising spacers (E1, E2) and two sidewalls (C1, C2) joined to opposite sides of the spacers, the sidewalls (C1) and (C2) each having a guide grooves (8) formed in their inner surfaces facing the bolt mechanism, the guide grooves comprising a first portion (8a) transverse to said barrel axis, and a second portion (8b) parallel to said barrel axis. The bolt mechanism comprises a bolt comprising lateral bearings (24a, 24b, 24c, 24d) on opposite sides of the bolt, a first pair of lateral bearings positioned towards a front portion of the bolt and a second pair of the lateral bearings positioned towards a rear portion of the bolt, the lateral bearings received in the guide grooves. The front and rear lateral bearings being spaced apart by a distance (Xa) configured to allow the bolt to tilt around a bend formed by an intersection of the first and second portions of the guide grooves to allow assembly of the bolt in the firearm.

Abrégé
The invention relates to improvements in the design and operating mechanisms in a KRISS-type firearm, or a firearm employing a mobile mass. In one aspect, the invention is an improved cocking lever assembly comprising a main pin provided with a tenon (9) at one end (E), with a supporting compression spring (5), a cocking button (3), and a retention means (4), attached to a mobile mass (1). This assembly allows direct activation of the mobile mass (1) by the action of the operator's force on the cocking lever. Advantageously, this cocking lever assembly can be mounted indiscriminately on the right or the left of the mobile mass (1) and therefore of the firearm, according to the user's preference. This cocking lever assembly combines certain safety criteria with the option of ambidextrous use often preferred in modern firearms. In another aspect, the firearm is designed to accomodate and effectively lock and release larger or extended magazines. The releasing buttons are located on and can be operated from both sides of the frame.

Abrégé
The mechanism comprises a main frame (1 ) and its extension (1 '), which accommodate a barrel (21 ) with a fixed mounting, a mobile bolt (22) and its guiding pin ensemble (66) and main spring (67) moving in the main frame (1 ), a mobile mass (34) and its assembly of guiding pin (60), push plate (61 ) and return spring (62), and a mobile mass catch sear (42) and its spring (7). The mobile mass pivots from a first position under the barrel to a downward position in reaction to the backward movement of the mobile bolt upon firing. The placement of the mobile mass in front of the chamber directs counteracting forces down on the barrel to prevent muzzle climb during operation.
