The invention concerns a method for testing the integrity of a primary barrier (1) arranged in a well (3), wherein the method comprises the following steps; a) arranging a secondary seal (2) above the primary barrier (1) in a position axially spaced from the primary barrier (1) in the well thereby establishing a test chamber (4) confined by the secondary seal (2) and the primary barrier (1), b) testing and verifying the integrity of the secondary seal (2) c) reducing the pressure of the test chamber (4) to a predetermined test pressure (TP2), d) monitoring the pressure of the test chamber (4) after the pressure reduction. The invention also concerns a system for testing integrity of a primary barrier (1) arranged in a well. The invention also comprises a system for testing the integrity of a primary barrier.
