METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PROVIDING A DUMMY TARGET FOR PROTECTING A VEHICLE AND/OR AN OBJECT FROM RADAR-GUIDED SEEKER HEADS
A method and device are for providing a dummy target of decoy chaffs for protecting an object from radar-guided missiles. After identification of the missile and calculation of a decoy chaff pattern, the pattern is presented as a point cloud of the disassembly or detonation points of the dummy target as polar coordinates in accordance with the firing of shots. A cut-off distance for the determination of a defence radius is found in these polar coordinates and a minimum distance between the disassembly or detonation points within the defence radius is set in a freely selectable manner. The dummy target is optimized on the basis of the cut-off distance and the minimum distance between the disassembly or detonation points. The only decoy chaffs that are deployed are those that have a minimum distance between the disassembly or detonation points within the defence radius in the optimized dummy target.
The invention relates to a firing device (1) for firing cartridge ammunition (2) comprising a case head (20), which has on its outer circumference at least one peripheral, groove-shaped depression (3). In order to achieve secure arrestment of the ammunition (3) in the firing device (1) when the firing device (1) is loaded from the muzzle end, the invention proposes that the firing device (1) comprises a head piece (4) and a tubular ammunition-receiving device (5) that is secured on the front side of the head piece (4), wherein the ammunition-receiving device (5) is arranged such that it can be moved axially in the direction of the head piece (4) against the pressure of a restoring element (6). In this case, the head piece (4) includes an annular guiding element (7), which extends axially into the ammunition-receiving device (5) and has multiple guiding openings (9), which extend through the wall (8) of the guiding element (7) and are in each case of a form that is angled from the outer side of the guiding element (7) in the direction of the opening (12) of the ammunition-receiving device (5). Locking elements (10) are movably arranged in the guiding openings (9) and, on the side thereof that is facing away from the ammunition-receiving device (5) are acted upon by spring elements (11) in such a way that, when the firing device (1) is loaded, the locking elements (10) are pressed by the spring elements (11) into the groove-shaped depression (3) in the ammunition (2). For unloading the ammunition (2), the locking elements are pressed out from the groove-shaped depression (3) in the ammunition (2) into the guiding openings (9) of the guiding element (7) by axially moving the ammunition-receiving device (5) towards the head piece (4).
The invention relates to a sabot (4) for a sub-caliber projectile (1) having a projectile core (2). When the projectile exits a weapon barrel, the sabot detaches from the projectile core (2) without transferring momentum by means of a separating aid (4) incorporated between the projectile core (2) and the sabot. The separating aid (4) has a plurality of fingers (5) having at least one predetermined breaking point (8a, 8b), which is connected to the projectile core (2) by a type of snap-connection bead (6) on the fingers/braces (5).
It is proposed to connect the ammunition and the magazine (2) to each other not only in terms of design, but also in terms of function. The magazine (2) and ammunition are for all intents and purposes combined to form sub-modules (1), wherein a plurality of sub-modules (1.1-1.4) would then be comparable to the quantity of conventional ammunition in the launcher tube. Said sub-modules (1.1-1.4) are then preferably assembled and locked (as a module), which is comparable to a previously loaded magazine. The individual sub-module (1) contains, inter alia, rifling, by means of which, during firing, the ammunition/submunition is caused to rotate and is thereby stabilised.

IMPACT LOCATING DAY AND NIGHT MARKER FOR A PROJECTILE
A marking projectile comprises separate compartments that break during launch due to rotation of the projectile as it leaves the barrel of a weapon. Metal pellets contained within the compartments are pressed outward and pierce the compartment walls. This allows for mixing of chemical materials contained within the compartments, so that the materials substantially react by the time the projectile strikes a target. The chemical materials may be a pair of chemi-luminescent components, or components that create heat for thermal marking.

The invention relates to a mechanism or drive (100) for a weapon, wherein the rotational motion of a motor (2) and the like is converted to a forward or reverse motion of the breech (3) in a simple manner using the Scotch yoke (8) principle. In order to allow the rest periods of the breech (3) in the end positions, the yoke radius is defined by a control cam (15) which however changes when the yoke (8) is rotated. The hinge pin of the yoke (8) is for example externally driven via a pinion shaft (14). A yoke pin (9) is arranged in a groove (17) of the yoke (8) so as to be radially displaceable and carries the breech carrier (5) or the breech (3) in a groove (16) extending at a right angle to the direction of fire via a sliding block (11). Two elements (10), for example rollers, are arranged on the yoke pin (9) and run in control cams (15) in the weapon or yoke housing. The control cam (15) is subdivided into different sectors/sections thereby achieving the desired motion of the breech (3).

BREECH DRIVE FOR A WEAPON WITH LINEAR BREECH OR AMMUNITION FEED
The invention relates to a mechanism or drive (100) for a weapon which is characterized by only a limited acceleration of the breech (20) and a jerk- and recoil-free operation, thereby reducing the inertia force and the required power and increasing the repetition rate. The reduction of the required power also results in a reduction of braking power in the case of a quick stop. For this purpose, the rotational motion of preferably a motor (2) or the like is converted to a forward or reverse motion of the breech (20) using the Scotch yoke principle. In order to allow rest periods of the breech in the end positions, the rod (3) and the yoke (1) are arranged radially displaceable relative to each other so that the yoke radius changes when the yoke (1) is rotated. A control cam (6) radially guides the rod (3).

The invention relates to a mortar (1) with at least one barrel (2), which is mounted movably over a ball journal (3) in a supporting device (4) at the bottom, and to an aiming device (5), serving to aim the barrel vertically and horizontally. In order to be able to aim the barrel (2) of the mortar (1) automatically in a simple and cost advantageous manner, the invention proposes that the aiming device (5) preferably comprises a carriage (6), which can be moved along guideways (7) essentially horizontally to the barrel (2) to or away from the latter. At the carriage (6), the first end region (10) of a pivoted arm (13) is mounted so that it can be rotated about a pivot axis (14), the second end region (16) of which is connected with a spherical plain bearing (17), guiding the barrel (2). The spherical plain bearing (17) embraces a housing part (19), which is open at its end faces and in which an inner part (21) is mounted spherically, which contains a cylindrical barrel guide (22), for movably accommodating the barrel (2).
The invention relates to an irritation element (1) having a container (5) and a first effect charge, and further having an igniting mechanism (3) and an igniting cap (4) which comprises an additional body (10) that contains an additional effect charge (11) and is located in the open area at the bottom (8). METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR OPTICALLY PROGRAMMING A PROJECTILE
A system for optically programming an in-flight projectile fired front a weapon comprises a fire control device and a controlled projectile. The fire control device comprises an optical transmitter and the projectile comprises a fuze, an optical collector and an optical sensor. The transmitter transmits optical signals to the in-flight projectile in order to program the circuit of the fuze disposed in the projectile.
In order to mark the point at which a projectile (10, 11) strikes a target, a container (3) that holds an agent to mark the target is incorporated into the ogive area of the projectile (10, 11). When the projectile (10, 11) strikes the target, the container (3) is broken so that the marking agent can escape through holes (2) made in the ogive (4) or the rear section. In order that the marking agent can escape in this form, an over-pressure is generated within the projectile (10, 11). This can be done by a gas cartridge (7) with a release mechanism (8) or by a plunger (9).

AMMUNITION, ESPECIALLY PROGRAMMABLE LARGE-CALIBER AMMUNITION
A separating device is integrated in ammunition, with which a line is separated at the earliest possible time during a firing process. The separating device is composed mainly of a piston, which preferably has a sharp edge, is guided in a rigidly mounted cylinder, and, in the unloaded state, is positioned by a shear flange. The cable is preferably securely supported in a protective tube which is connected with a propellant charge primer, and in which the cable is guided as far as the tip of the propellant charge primer and is then further guided to the rear end of the projectile. In the upper area of the cylinder, the cable is guided through a bore, which preferably lies transversely to the direction of acceleration of the piston, so that when the piston moves forward, the cable is separated by the sharp edge of the piston.
The cartridge-type training round consists of a projectile and a cartridge shell into which the projectile is inserted. The projectile includes a one-piece cylindrical central body (2) and a one-piece basin-shaped projectile tip (5) that is pressed onto the central body and engages a circumferential engagement bead (7) with a circumferential engagement slot (8) located in the central body (2). The cartridge shell (20) is a one-piece basin-shaped part; it is also pressed onto the central body (2) and engages a circumferential engagement bead (22) with a circumferential engagement slot (23) of the central body (2). A receiver recess (25) is provided in an approximately cylindrical projection (24) that is inserted centered from the base to receive the propulsive charge (28) and its igniter (29). The round is of simple design, and may be manufactured inexpensively owing to its simple parts that may be largely of plastic, without loss of function.
Disclosed is a projectile (2) comprising a projectile body (4) with a projectile bottom (5) and a hollow ogive (6) within which a marking substance (13), e.g. a powdered pigment, is accommodated. In order to prevent the powdered pigment from being released and contaminating a weapon from which the projectile is fired, for example, when the ogive is damaged, the marking substance (13) is covered with a protective cap (14) that bursts when the projectile hits the target.

CARTRIDGE MUNITION, PARTICULARLY ONE OF MEDIUM CALIBRE
A cartridge munition, particularly practice round, includes a cartridge shell (3) and a projectile (2) inserted into it. A propulsion chamber (4) is provided within the cartridge shell that receives a propulsive charge (5) that may be ignited by means of a pyrotechnic igniter (13) and that develops propulsive gases that act on the base (8) of the projectile, driving it out of the cartridge shell. In order to prevent the pyrotechnic igniter from igniting spontaneously, and from igniting the propulsive charge (5) because of the ambient temperature or because of a fire, which would cause the cartridge shell and projectile to be separated and fly apart, it is proposed by the invention to provide exhaust channels (14) between the propulsion chamber and the exterior of the cartridge shell (3) that are filled with a fusible material, particularly a fusible metal (15). The fusible material has a lower melting point than the ignition point of the igniter (13) and of the propulsive. charge (5). If the ambient temperature of the cartridge shell rises above the melting point of the fusible material, it melts, releasing the exhaust channels (14), so that, upon delayed ignition of the propulsive charge, it burns without pressure buildup, and the cartridge shell and projectile remain together.
