Abstract

A method for transferring and handling material, in which method material (w) is supplied into a separator device (1) by a material conveying pipe (100) from an inlet opening (3) together with a transporting air flow provided by a partial-vacuum generator (8) connected by a pipe (7) to a container space of the separator device, to a transporting air outlet pipe (6), in which method the material (w) is removed from a container space (2) of the separator device (1) via an outlet opening (9) to a press chamber (11), and wherein material is transferred and compacted by a transferring member (14) of a pressing device (10) via an outlet opening (16) of the press chamber (11) to a container space (27) of a separate material container (26), which material container (26) is removably connected to the pressing device. In the method, the efficiency of movement of the material from the container space (2) of the separator device (1) to the press chamber (11) and further to the container space (27) of the material container (26) is increased by connecting a suction side of the partial-vacuum generator (8) to act in the container space (27) of the material container (26) via a suction pipe (20) and a suction opening (33) and by supplying replacement air to the container space (2) of the separator device (1) and/or to the press chamber (11) of the press device (10). The invention also relates to an apparatus.

Abstract

The present disclosure relates generally to the field of waste collection, and particularly to techniques for requesting and controlling access to a waste collection point by using a mobile user device. The mobile user device is initially provided with a user ID that is granted permanent or temporary access rights to one or more hatches of one or more waste containers of the waste collection point. By using the user ID and a user input that comprises an indication of one or more of the waste containers to be accessed in the waste collection point at a given time instant, the mobile user device sends an access request to an access control system. In response to the access request, the access control system unlocks or opens the hatch(es) of the waste container(s) to be accessed, when the mobile user device is in the vicinity of the waste collection point. By so doing, it is possible to provide efficient access management for the waste collection point.

Abstract

Method for conveying and handling waste material in the channel section of a pneumatic wastes conveying system, in which method solid waste material or recycleable material fed into a conveying pipe (100) is conveyed in the conveying pipe (100) of the pneumatic pipe transport system for material along with the transporting air flow to the delivery end of the material conveying system, where the material is separated from the transporting air. In the method the material (w) is acted upon in the conveying pipe (100) by stopping the speed of movement of the material being conveyed in the conveying pipe by means of a stopper means (22) arranged between the separating device (25) of the delivery end and the material (w) being handled, or against the stopper means at, or in the proximity of, the delivery end of the material conveying system and by bringing about in the channel space of the conveying pipe (100) volumetric compression in at least a part of the material (w) being conveyed by means of the stopper means (22) arranged between the separating device (25) of the delivery end and the material (w) being handled, or against the stopper means, by means of a pressure difference acting on the different sides of the material being handled, such as by the combined effect of suction and replacement air, before transportation of the material onwards in the conveying pipe into a container (257) of the separating device (25) arranged at the delivery end of the pneumatic transport system for wastes.

In the method a bypass channel (17) is arranged in the channel section (20, 21, 22) formed by the intermediate container of an input point for compensating a change in volume resulting from the pressure difference of the pressures of different magnitudes possibly acting on different sides of the material (w) and/or for preventing undesired material displacement from the channel section (20, 21, 22) into the material conveying pipe (100). The invention also relates to an apparatus and to a wastes conveying system.

Abstract

Method for handling material in a pneumatic conveying system for material, which conveying system comprises at least one input point (108) of material, a material conveying pipe (100), which can be connected to an input point (108), and a separating device or a container (11), in which the material to be transported is separated from the transporting air, and also means for achieving a pressure difference and/or a transporting air flow- in the conveying pipe (100) at least during the transportation of material. In the method the material (w) is acted upon by the combined effect of suction and replacement air in the collection container (11) of the separating device (10) by bringing about volumetric compression against at Ieast one wall (7) for at Ieast some of the material (w) conducted into the collection container, in which wall at Ieast one aperture (34) is formed, the aperture being connected to a medium connection on the suction side of the partial-vacuum source. The invention also relates to a separating device and to a waste conveying system.

Abstract

Method for feeding in and conveying material in a pneumatic material-conveying system, in which method material (w) is fed into the channel space (10) of the material conveying channel (1 ) via a number of input apertures (20) of input points (2) that are at a vertical distance from each other and is conveyed in the channel space onwards to the delivery end of the material conveying channel mainly by means of gravity and the suction brought about by the partial-vacuum generators of the pneumatic material-conveying system. In the material input phase, the displacement in the channel space (10) of at least most of the material (w) fed in from higher up to the point in the channel space of a lower input point is prevented with an arresting means (31 ) arranged in the material conveying channel, between the input aperture (20) of the input point (2) situated higher up and the input aperture of a second input point below it, in which case the material collects in the input phase in the channel space (10) supported by an arresting means (31 ), and that in the material conveying phase the connection from the suction side of the partial-vacuum generator of the material conveying system is connected to the material conveying channel (1 ), the arresting means (31 ) is displaced from the first position into the second position in such a way that the material (w) that was supported by the arresting means (31 ) is able to displace in the channel space (10) of the material channel towards the delivery end of the material conveying channel (1 ). The invention also relates to an apparatus.

Abstract

A method for draining the tank space (20) of a supply tank (1) in a pneumatic material conveying system, such as a waste conveying system, from material (10), such as waste material, said conveying system comprising at least one feed point of material, particularly waste material, such as a supply tank (1); said tank comprising a tank space (20); in which method the tank space is drained to a conveyor pipe (2, 100) by opening a drain valve (3), so that the underpressure prevailing in the conveyor pipe, together with the ambient pressure prevailing in the supply tank, conveys material from the supply tank to the conveyor pipe (2, 100). In the method, makeup air is brought to the vicinity of the outlet aperture (8) of the supply tank (1), and the material (10) is guided by a partition wall element (9) towards the outlet aperture, so that the makeup air affects the material to be discharged (10) in the vicinity of the outlet aperture (8), at least during the draining step. Abstract

A method for closing a filling hole of a waste bin (1), which waste bin comprises a container part (2) and a cover part (3) and at least one filling hole (4) which is formed in a side wall of the cover part (3) and/or the container part (2). Between the cover part (3) and the container part (2) of the waste bin is arranged a retainer part (6), which retainer part keeps the cover part in a first position, whereby a passage via the filling hole (4) to a container space (24) of the container part is open and, after the temperature has reached a predetermined value (T2), the retainer part (6) moves to a second position in which the cover part (3) is released to move with respect to the container part (2) to a second position in which the passage via the filling hole (4) to the container space (24) of the container part is closed. The invention also relates to a waste bin.

Abstract

A method for conveying material by applying a pressure difference in a conveying conduit (4), in which method the material is fed into the conveying conduit (4) and in the conveying conduit further into a separating device (5), where the material being conveyed is separated from conveying air, in which method a negative pressure is created in the conveying conduit (4) by means of an ejector apparatus (6), whose suction side is connected to the separating device (5), said ejector apparatus being operated using an operating medium consisting of a liquid mist, especially an aqueous liquid mist, said medium being sprayed through at least one spraying nozzle (122) into an ejector tube (128) directed into a separating element (38). In the method, the generation of the negative pressure to be produced is intensified according to need by limiting the flow of gases, such as air, into the ejector tube (128) from the direction opposite to the spraying direction of its operating medium, i.e. from the outlet end (129) of the ejector tube. The invention also relates to an apparatus and an ejector device.
