At least one sensor is carried by the grip, and the at least one sensor adapted to sense a state of the magazine detachably received in the magazine chamber corresponding to a number of cartridges of ammunition remaining in the magazine. A display is carried on the rear surface of the grip, and the display includes a plurality of illuminating devices. The display is operatively coupled to the at least one sensor and is operable to visually present the number of cartridges of ammunition remaining in the magazine by illuminating at least one of the plurality of illuminating devices.
Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to recording devices coupled to guns that are configured to record events. In an embodiment, a gun-mounted recording device comprises: a sensor configured to: sense the gun is in use; and send an activation signal to a recording device in response to sensing the gun is in use. Further, the recording device is communicatively coupled to the sensor, wherein the recording device is configured to: transition from a lower-power state to a higher-power state in response to receiving the activation signal, wherein the recording device records wherein the higher-power state; and record at least one aspect of the gun's environment in response to transitioning from the lower-power state to the higher-power state.
In an exemplary embodiment, a gun-mounted recording device comprises a housing configured to be mounted to a gun, a recording module arranged within the housing, the recording module comprising a first electrical contact, and a power supply configured to be detachably coupled to the housing. The power source comprises a second electrical contact. The first electrical contact and the second electrical contact are configured to contact each other and form a circuit when the power source is coupled to the housing in order for the power source to supply power to the recording module. The first electrical contact, the second electrical contact, or both are configured to move in response to relative movement between the power source and the housing when the power source is coupled to the housing, in order to maintain the supply of power from the power source to the recording module.

A first switch is disposed on the right side of the housing and a second switch is disposed on the left side of the housing. The switches are operable to control the electronic component via the circuit board. A power source provides power to at least one of the electronic component, the sensor, and the circuit board.

An electronic accessory for a firearm comprising: a housing including an attachment mechanism for securing the electronic accessory to the firearm, the housing containing components of the electronic accessory. The components of the electronic accessory comprising: an electronic component, a sensor, a circuit board, and a power source. The sensor senses a magnetic field. The circuit board is coupled to the electronic component and the sensor. The circuit board controls the electronic component and suspends power to the electronic component when the sensor senses a magnetic field above a threshold strength. The power source is coupled to the circuit board and provides power to at least one of: the electronic component, the sensor and the circuit board.

A combination includes a holster and a laser gun sight that is securable to a gun. The laser gun sight includes a housing including a laser aperture sized to accommodate a laser module, a laser module disposed within the laser aperture, a circuit board including circuitry configured to operate the laser module and a sensor disposed on the circuit board and configured to detect a position of the laser gun sight relative to the holster. The laser gun sight may be a green laser gun sight and may be configured to automatically turn off when holstered and automatically turn on when drawn.
