The invention concerns a system for protecting vehicles, persons or objects, comprising a launching unit (1) having a control system and at least one launcher tube (3) accommodating an ejection charge (6), which can be ignited electrically, and an active member (4). In addition to an effect charge (12), the active member comprises a control system and an activation charge (11) which can be electrically ignited in order to discharge the effect charge (12) which may be a smoke, tear, flare or report composition, for example.
F41A 19/65 - Electric firing mechanisms for automatic or burst-firing mode for giving ripple fire, i.e. using electric sequencer switches for timed multiple-charge launching, e.g. for rocket launchers
F42B 5/155 - Smoke-pot projectors, e.g. arranged on vehicles
F42B 12/46 - Projectiles, missiles or mines characterised by the warhead, the intended effect, or the material characterised by the warhead or the intended effect for signalling for dispensing gases, vapours, powders or chemically-reactive substances
F42C 11/06 - Electric fuzes with time delay by electric circuitry

APPARATUS FOR IRRITATING PERSONS OR CROWDS OF PEOPLE
The apparatus for irritating persons or crowds of people comprises devices which generate irritating signals. A first irritating device is provided which generates repeated first irritating signals at a rate of more than three signals per second (3/s). Preferably, a second irritating device is provided which generates a single second irritating signal at the beginning of or shortly before the first irritating signals or repeatedly generates second irritating signals at a rate that is significantly lower than the rate of the first irritating signals. Preferably, the first irritating signals are optical flashes of light while the second irritating signals are bang-type acoustic signals.
F41H 13/00 - Means of attack or defence not otherwise provided for
F42B 12/36 - Projectiles, missiles or mines characterised by the warhead, the intended effect, or the material characterised by the warhead or the intended effect for signalling
