Abstract

Exemplary soap and sanitizer dispensers are disclosed herein. An exemplary soap or sanitizing dispenser includes a housing, a processor, memory, an object sensor, and a receptacle for receiving a refill unit. The refill unit includes a container, a closure, and a valve. The dispenser further includes a valve post. The valve post is configured to open the valve. A fluid reservoir for holding liquid soap or sanitizer is also included. The fluid reservoir has a liquid inlet and/or air outlet passage and a liquid outlet passage. The dispenser further includes a level sensor for sensing the level of liquid in the reservoir and a pump in fluid communication with the liquid outlet passage. Logic is stored in the memory for determining whether a selected volume of fluid is in the fluid reservoir. The selected volume of liquid is greater than 10 milliliters of liquid. In addition, logic for causing the pump to operate when an object is detected by the object sensor and when the selected level of liquid in the fluid reservoir is above a selected level is also included. If the liquid level in the fluid reservoir is below a selected level, the pump will not pump fluid even if an object is detected by the object sensor.

Abstract

An applicator for dispensing a fluid includes a housing and a pump disposed within the housing. A wand extends in a first direction between a first end and a second end. The wand is rotatably coupled to the housing between an open position and a closed position. A conduit extends from the pump to the first end of the wand such that the fluid flows in the first direction to be dispensed from the second end of the wand. The wand defines an aperture through which the conduit enters the first end of the wand such that the conduit extends in a second direction non-parallel to the first direction to enter the first end. The conduit remains in the aperture regardless of the position of the wand.

Abstract

An exemplary wipes dispensing canister system includes a canister, a fluid located in the container, a roll of wipes. The roll of wipes is a plurality of wipes that are separated by perforation lines. A lid and dispensing nozzle are also included. To dispense a wipe, a user grips a leading edge of a wipe and manually pulls one or more wipes out of the canister through the dispensing nozzle. The system includes a sensor, a processor, a memory, and a power source. The sensor senses a force exerted on a leading wet wipe by the user. Upon sensing the force exerted on the leading wet wipe by the user, the processor determines that one or more wet wipes have been removed from the canister.

Abstract

Exemplary table-top sanitizer dispensers and dip tube separation members are disclosed herein. An exemplary table-top sanitizer dispenser includes a container. The container has a neck that has an inside diameter. The container having an annular wall extending outward from the base of the neck. The table-top dispenser has pump that has a pump housing. The pump housing has an annular retention member at the bottom of the housing. A nozzle is secured to the pump housing. A closure is also secured to the pump housing. The table-top dispenser further includes a dip tube. The dip tube is secured to the annular retention member. A dip tube separation member extending outward from the dip tub is also included. The dip tube separation member has a biased state and an unbiased state. In the biased state the dip tube separation member has a diameter that is smaller than the inside diameter of the neck. When the separation member moves toward its unbiased state, the separation member is wider than the inside diameter of the neck. When the dip tube is connected to the annular retention member and the separation member is located inside of the container, removing the closure and the pump from the container causes the dip tube to separate from the annular retention member and the dip tube remains in the container.

Abstract

An exemplary sprayer system includes a container for holding a fluid, a hand-held sprayer and a density sensing flow restrictor valve. The density sensing flow restrictor includes a float, a valve seat, a liquid inlet, and a liquid outlet. The float has a density that is lower than the density of water and has a density that is greater than the density of ethanol. Fluid flows into a bottom of density sensing flow restrictor valve and out the top. The valve seat is located in the top. When the float is in a fluid that has a higher density than the float, the float contacts the valve seat. A fluid conduit places the density sensing flow restrictor valve in fluid communication with the hand-held sprayer. A fluid intake conduit places the density sensing flow restrictor valve in fluid communication with fluid in the container.

Abstract

Among other things, one or more systems and/or techniques for improving performance of a dispensing system are provided herein. The dispensing system may comprise an emitter and a detector. The emitter may be configured to transmit light (e.g., and/or one or more other signals). The detector may be configured to measure light, for example. The detector may determine a first measurement of light while the emitter is not transmitting light. The detector may determine a second measurement of light responsive to the emitter transmitting light. The detector may determine a third measurement of light based upon a comparison of the first measurement of light with the second measurement of light. The detector may be direct current (DC) coupled while determining the third measurement of light.

Abstract

One or more computing devices, systems, and/or methods for determining a time-length of an action are provided. For example, a first data packet, of a plurality of data packets, may be received from a beacon. The first data packet may be associated with a first event and may comprise a first counter value. A second data packet, of the plurality of data packets, may be received from the beacon. The second data packet may be associated with a second event and may comprise a second counter value. A time-length of an action may be determined based upon an evaluation of the first counter value and the second counter value. Compliance with a protocol may be determined by comparing the time-length of the action with a time-limit associated with the protocol. A report may be generated based upon the time-length of the action and the compliance with the protocol.

Abstract

Exemplary soap, sanitizer and lotion dispensers are disclosed herein. An exemplary dispenser includes a housing; a receptacle for receiving a container; a container of fluid comprising soap, sanitizer or lotion; a pump in fluid communication with the container; a power source; a pump coupled to a motor and pulse width modulation circuitry in circuit communication with the power source and the motor. The pulse width modulation circuitry is initially set to cause a selected dose of fluid to be dispensed at a base speed. A sensor for detecting a parameter indicative of an actual speed of a dispense of the fluid is also included. When the actual speed of the dispense of fluid is less than the base speed or greater than the base speed, the pulse width modulation circuitry adjusts the pulse width to cause the speed of a following dispense of fluid to be closer to the base speed.

Abstract

Exemplary dispensers that receive power from a wireless focused power signal and methods of charging such dispensers are disclosed herein. An exemplary dispenser for dispensing soap or sanitizer includes a housing, a receptacle for retaining a supply of soap or sanitizer, a processor, and a focused energy signal receiver. The focused energy signal receiver includes a reflector for reflecting at least a portion of the focused energy signal back to a transmission source and a converter for converting at least a portion of the focused energy signal into an output voltage. The dispenser further includes charge control circuitry and one or more capacitors. The charge control circuitry monitors the output voltage of the converter. If the output voltage of the converter is above a threshold, the one or more capacitors receive a charging current.

Abstract

A method for operating a fluid dispenser is provided. The method includes receiving, by the fluid dispenser, an interrogation signal from a remote electronic device, and in response to receiving the interrogation signal, transmitting, by the fluid dispenser and to the remote electronic device, an identification of a fluid type of the fluid stored within the fluid dispenser. The method further includes dispensing fluid from the fluid dispenser in response to an actuation request and based upon a fluid-specific setting received from the remote electronic device. A method for programming a fluid dispenser is also provided. The method includes detecting, by a remote electronic device, a fluid type of a fluid stored within the fluid dispenser, and transmitting one of a first fluid-specific setting and a second fluid-specific setting to the fluid dispenser based upon a detected fluid type of fluid stored within the fluid dispenser.

Abstract

A method and device for indicating whether a dispensable product will require refilling prior to the next scheduled service interval includes tracking the amount of use over a first interval, and calculating a frequency based from the use over the first interval. The quantity remaining is compared with the required amount, which is the product of the number of weeks in the service interval and the calculated frequency. Thus, when the quantity remaining is less that the required amount, a warning will be provided to indicate that the dispensing product should be replaced, as it will be empty before the next service interval.
