Abstract

An image can be captured from an imaging device. A gaming chip tube can be identified in a gaming chip tray. A first position can be determined that corresponds to a bottom of the gaming chip tube. A spacer can be identified by recognizing a predefined pattern on the spacer. A second position can be determined corresponding to the spacer. A count of gaming chips can be determined based at least in part on the first and second positions.

Abstract

The token, in the overall shape of a disc, of the type having a body obtained by multi-shot injection moulding of plastic, comprises a core (14) obtained by a first injection of plastic, including a central portion (24) defining the central part of the body of the said token and a peripheral portion (31) defining, via radial projections (18), at least part of the edge surface of the body of the token. The core (14) incorporates an insert (26) comprising a contactless electronic chip identification device (27) embedded in the first injection in the central portion (24) and held at its periphery by projections or fingers that form part of the injection mould and define openings (36) in the core. The body of the token comprises a covering layer obtained by a second injection of plastic around the peripheral portion (31) of the core (14) in order with the core to form the entire edge surface and the peripheral annular part of the body of the token. A decorated label is affixed to each face of the token. The token can be used as a gaming token or gambling chip.

Abstract

Token in the general form of disc having a body (12) having a central opening (25, 25', 25b, 25c) containing an insert (26, 26', 26") having an identification device (27) (28). The insert (26, 26', 26") has two rigid plates (34, 36, 34', 36') each having at least a central projection on the inner face of the corresponding plate, secured or fitted at the central projection so that the central projection of one of the plates is attached or fitted to the inner face of the other plate to define between them a peripheral annular zone in which is disposed the identification device (27).

Abstract

The invention relates to a station for reading and/or writing in a memory (21) of a chip (12) with an electronic circuit, in particular a gaming chip. The inventive station comprises: means (10) for storing the chip (12), and a communication unit (20) which can exchange information with the memory (21) using antenna means (30) when the chip (12) is positioned in the storage means (10) according to an orientation enabling communication. The aforementioned antenna means (30) consist of first (46) and second (47) antennas comprising first (46') and second (47') loops respectively. According to the invention, the first (46') and second (47') loops are disposed in an adjacent manner and are at least partially stacked on top of one another, such that, together, they define a large read and/or write zone with an essentially homogenous transmission quality.
