INTELLIGENT GALLERY MANAGEMENT FOR BIOMETRICS

Application Number 18522121
Status Pending
Filing Date 2023-11-28
First Publication Date 2024-03-21

Abstract

A system provides intelligent gallery management for biometrics. A first gallery is obtained that includes biometric and/or other information on a population of people. An application is identified. A subset of the population of people is identified based on the application. A second gallery is derived from the first gallery by pulling the information for the subset of the population of people without pulling the information for the population of people not in the subset. Biometric identification (such as facial recognition) for the application may then be performed using the second gallery rather than the first gallery. In this way, the system is improved as less time is required for biometric identification, fewer device resources are used, and so on.

Abstract

A system performs digital notarization using a biometric identification service. A signature requesting service receives a request to validate a digital item with a signature for a person. The signature requesting service provides a payload that identifies the digital item and/or the person to an identity service. The identity service obtains one or more digital representations of biometrics for the person, determines an identity for the person, and returns a data structure including the payload and one or more identity attestations regarding the determined identity. The identity service encrypts at least a portion of the data structure using a private encryption key. A public encryption key for the identity service can then be used to decrypt the portion to verify that the data structure was generated by the identity service after determining the identity. In this way, validation can be verified to the full trust level of the identification service.

Abstract

An identification system uses a local cache for performing identifications. An identity system device may store identity information and identification information. An electronic device stores a cache of a portion of the identity information and a part of the identification information. The electronic device receives user input, determines an identity by comparing the user input to the cached identification information (such as by comparing a received digital representation of a biometric with cached biometric identification information), and performs an action using information in the cached identity information that is associated with the identity. The electronic device may update the identity information stored by the identity system device based on the action.

Abstract

A system translates a first biometric template of a first type to enable comparison with a second biometric template of a second type. In one example, a canonical template structure to which the first and second biometric templates adhere may be identified and used to compare corresponding portions of the first and second biometric templates. In another example, types and associated formats of the first and second biometric templates may be identified to enable both to be translated to a general format that can then be compared. In still other examples, an identification system may use the first biometric template to determine an identity associated with first biometric data to either retrieve second stored biometric data associated with the identity of a same type as the second biometric template or verify that an account in an external system having a record storing the second biometric template is associated with the identity.

Abstract

A hardware system enables computer network interaction between network identity services and account-based service applications. In some examples, the network identity service biometrically identifies people. The network identity services and/or account-based service applications interact to exchange data in order to monitor, track, initiate, and/or cooperatively and/or individually perform various functions while protecting data that should not be shared and minimizing communication network usage and hardware and software resources. This interaction enables both to accomplish more and different tasks than they could individually while improving operational efficiency of hardware and software components of both.

Abstract

A station device in a biometric pre-identification system uses identity to perform one or more actions. Identities are determined (such as via a backend) using biometric information. A biometric pre-identification device obtains biometric information and/or a digital representation thereof from a person approaching the station device. The biometric pre-identification device transmits such to the station device, facilitating the station to begin and/or perform various actions. The station device begins or performs the actions using the identity determined based on the biometric information before the person arrives at the station device.

Abstract

A system performs mobile biometric identification system enrollment using a known biometric. The system receives a digital representation of a first biometric for a person. Prior to using the digital representation of the first biometric to identify the person, the system compares a received digital representation of a second biometric for the person to known biometric data for the person. When the digital representation of the first biometric has been thus verified, the system is operative to identify the person using the digital representation of the first biometric.
