Abstract

Electrolyte additives have been shown to increase cycle life compared to an electrolyte system with none or only one additive. However, because additives can be expensive and difficult to include within Li-ion batteries on a manufacture scale, more simple, yet effective battery systems are needed, including those with fewer additives. Improved battery systems have been developed for lithium-ion based batteries. The improved systems include a nonaqueous electrolyte including one or more lithium salts, one or more nonaqueous solvents, and an additive or additive mixture comprising one or more operative additives selected from a group of disclosed compounds, including 3-aryl substituted 1,4,2-di oxazol-5-ones and 3 -phenyl- 1,3,2,4- dioxathiazole 2-oxide.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Improved battery systems have been developed for lithium-ion based batteries. The improved battery systems consist of two-additive mixtures in an electrolyte solvent. Such battery systems are prepared by assembling a positive electrode and a negative electrode in the sealed cell, removing residual water from the sealed cell, filling the sealed cell with a nonaqueous electrolyte under an inert atmosphere, vacuum-sealing the sealed cell, carrying out a formation process comprising charging and discharging the sealed cell until the sealed cell achieves an initial capacity. The nonaqueous electrolyte includes lithium ions, a first nonaqueous solvent comprising a carbonate solvent, a second nonaquaeous I 0 solvent comprising methyl acetate, and an additive mixture of a first operative additive of either vinylene carbonate or fluoroethylene carbonate and a second operative additive of 2-furanone. Gas formation is suppressed in the battery system during the formation process. 1 5 CA 3010941 2020-03-27

Abstract

A radio communication device capable of randomizing both inter-cell interference and intra-cell interference. In this device, a spreading section (214) primarily spreads a response signal in a ZAC sequence set by a control unit (209). A spreading section (217) secondarily spreads the primarily spread response signal in a block-wise spreading code sequence set by the control unit (209). The control unit (209) controls the cyclic shift amount of the ZAC sequence used for the primary spreading in the spreading section (214) and the block-wise spreading code sequence used for the secondary spreading in the spreading section (217) according to a set hopping pattern. The hopping pattern set by the control unit (209) is made up of two hierarchies. An LB-based hopping pattern different for each cell is defined in the first hierarchy in order to randomize the inter-cell interference. A hopping pattern different for each mobile station is defined in the second hierarchy in order to randomize the intra-cell interference.

Abstract

A communication device 1 has a first protocol analysis section 11 that analyzes a status of a transmission signal Vs received at a transmission signal receiver 10. A transmission controller 14 determines a communication available period and a communication unavailable period based upon the analysis result. When the communication available period is determined, the transmission controller 14 allows a second protocol signal transmitter 12 to transmit a packet in accordance with a second protocol to a signal line Ls. With this result, it is possible to transmit a relatively large amount of data while suppressing noise influence caused by a varying condition of a carrier, in contrast to a prior system in which the transmission signal is superimposed only by a simple determination of the carrier condition. Thus, it is possible to share the signal line Ls with the time-division multiplexing transmission system and improve reliability of data transmission.

Abstract

The invention relates to a method, apparatus and system for configuring control channels in a mobile communication network and a mobile station. In order to suggest another improved scheme for configuring control channels, in particular control channels related to the transmission of user data the invention suggests aligning the size of the control channel information of different formats to an equal number of coded control channel information bits and/or modulation symbols for each control channel. The control channels may comprise scheduling related control information. According to another aspect of the invention, a more flexible solution is proposed that may allow for taking different geometries of mobile stations within a cell into account. Similar to the aspect above, the size of the control channel information is aligned by means of modulation and/or coding, however the control channel information is aligned to one out of a set of numbers of coded control channel information bits and/or modulation symbols for each control channel.

Abstract

Provided is a sequence allocation method capable of reducing inter-cell interference of a reference signal when a ZC sequence is used as the reference signal in a mobile communication system. In the sequence allocation method divides R x M sequences specified by a ZC sequence number r(r = 1 to R) and a cyclic shift sequence number m (m = 1 to M) into a plurality of sequence groups X (X = 1 to R) in accordance with the transmission band width of the reference signal, so that the ZC sequence is allocated to each cell in each sequence group unit. When it is assumed that R = 9 and M = 6, the number of sequence is 54. Each of the sequence groups is formed by two sequences. Accordingly, the number of sequence groups is 27. The 27 types of sequence groups are allocated to each cell.

Abstract

A lamination type heat exchanging element for use in heat exchange type ventilators and other air conditioning devices eliminates drift in the air passages while maintaining its structural strength, thereby providing high heat exchange efficiency. The heat exchanging element also prevents airflow leakage due to peeling between heat exchanger plates and other components. To achieve this, rectification portions are provided which eliminate drift in the air passages due to different ventilation resistances of the flow channels caused by their different flow channel lengths generated by flow channel division portions, thereby forming a predetermined flow velocity distribution in the counterflow regions.

Abstract

Mobile terminal communicating resource requests for dedicated uplink channel resources in a mobile communication system and method for communicating resource requests for dedicated uplink channel resources in a mobile communication system. To allow the serving cell to detect "DOWN" commands from non-serving cells during soft handover the invention suggests a new definition of criteria for setting the "happy bit" in the control information associated to data transmitted on dedicated uplink channels. According to these criteria the mobile terminal may not indicate an unhappy condition while ramping up resource utilization. Only if resources equivalent to the maximum serving grant are utilized, the transmission buffer status requires to and the power status of the terminal allows for the happy bit is set to indicate a unhappy condition.

Abstract

Processing load on an executing device for conducting playback is high during the playback of contents since the executing device performs verification of the contents validity in parallel with the contents playback, and therefore the executing device has to be equipped with a highly efficient processor. The present invention reduces the processing load involved in the verification by using, for the verification, only a predetermined number of encrypted units selected randomly from multiple encrypted units constituting encrypted contents recorded on the DVD. In addition, the present invention is capable of improving the accuracy of detecting unauthorized contents to some extent by randomly selecting a predetermined number of encrypted units every time the verification is performed.

Abstract

A vacuum heat insulator has a core formed of a glass fiber laminated body where glass fibers are laminated in the thickness direction, and an enveloping member that covers the core and has gas barrier property. The inside of the enveloping member is evacuated and the enveloping member is sealed. The core is pressurized and molded and the glass fibers are drawn by heat deformation of the glass fibers at a temperature at which the glass fibers start to slightly deform due to own weight of the glass fibers or a temperature at which the glass fibers become deformable due to a vertical load in pressing and the sectional shapes of the glass fibers do not significantly vary. Additionally, the shape of the core is kept by entanglement of parts of the glass fibers instead of binding of the glass fibers.

Abstract

An AVClip, and a PLMark specifying a playback start position in the AVCLip, are recorded on a BD-ROM. A cue-up operation for choosing a playback start position in the AVClip is performed by three types of instructions, namely a user-skip operation, a chapter search operation, and a Link command. Among these three types of instructions, attribute information included in marker information indicates whether only a branching command operation is allowed for choosing a corresponding playback start position, or the user-skip operation and the chapter search operation are allowed adding to the branching command.
