Abstract

An electrical receptacle connector includes a metallic shell, an outer shell, an insulated housing, and receptacle terminals. The receptacle terminals are held at the insulated housing. The metallic shell covers the insulated housing. The outer shell covers the metallic shell. The metallic shell has a reduced length to allow the exposure of the tongue portion. Elastic pieces of the outer shell extend toward the recessed holes of the metallic shell. When an electrical plug connector is mated with the electrical receptacle connector, the housing of the electrical plug connector contacts the elastic pieces of the electrical receptacle connector, so that the holding force between the electrical plug connector and the electrical receptacle connector can be increased. Hence, when the electrical plug connector is mated with the electrical receptacle connector, the high-frequency interference issue during signal transmission can be reduced.

Abstract

An electrical receptacle connector is enclosed by an outer shell. The outer shell includes a rear covering plate, side plates, and top plates. Two turned portions are at two sides of the rear covering plate. The side plates outwardly extend from the turned portions, respectively. Each of the top plates is bent from a top portion of the corresponding side plate and extends away from the corresponding side plate. The rear covering plate and the side plates are integrally formed as a one-piece member. Hence, the steps of manufacturing process for the connector can be reduced, the production of defective products can be reduced, and the structural strength of the connector can be improved. Moreover, numbers of holes or cracks between the rear covering plate and each of the side plates can be reduced, thereby reducing the EMI issue.

Abstract

An electrical receptacle connector includes a metallic shell, a terminal module in the metallic shell, a baffle plate at a rear portion of the metallic shell, and conductive ground legs. Accordingly, the baffle plate is at the rear portion of the metallic shell, and the conductive ground legs are at two sides of the metallic shell. Therefore, during the connector transmits data, the produced noises are shielded by the baffle plate, and the current formed by the noises is guided to a circuit board through the conductive ground legs, thus the noises are grounded and diminished. The conductive ground legs are adjacent to the baffle plate. Hence, the current flowing through the baffle plate is guided to the circuit board through the conductive ground legs, with a shorter path. Therefore, the current would not have antenna effect easily on the path, and the noise spreading can be reduced.

Abstract

An electrical plug connector includes a plurality of terminals and an insulator, a pair of grounding latches, a shielding spring and a shielding shell. Each of the terminals has a contacting segment and an elastic segment. Each of the contacting segments has a stopping face. The insulator partially covers the terminals and has a plurality of stopping edges. When the electrical plug connector is inserted into an electrical receptacle connector, shape deformation of each of the elastic segments shifts the corresponding contacting segment until the corresponding stopping edge is against the corresponding stopping face, and each contacting segment does not protrude from the insulator. When the electrical plug connector is not inserted into the electrical receptacle connector, shape recovery of each of the elastic segments restores the corresponding contacting segment and the corresponding stopping edge is away from the stopping face.

Abstract

A micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) terminal structure of board-to-board electrical connector and manufacturing method thereof are provided. The terminal of the terminal structure includes a side arm, a bent portion, and a flexible arm integrally formed as one component. The flexible arm includes a first portion and a second portion. The first portion and the side arm form an insertion space. The second portion and the side arm form a locking space. The second portion of the flexible arm has a contact portion. The insertion space is greater than the locking space. The terminal has curved and locking features to extend the moment arm of the terminal for improving the terminal flexibility. The terminal contacts a mating terminal through multiple points, thereby improving the contact stability and providing the locking function. Furthermore, by using the MEMS techniques for semiconductor industries, the terminal of micro board-to-board electrical connector can be manufactured.
