A coin processing system comprises a rotatable disc including a resilient pad coupled thereto for imparting motion to the plurality of coins, the resilient pad including an outer peripheral edge, and a stationary sorting head. The stationary sorting head includes a lower surface forming a coin path for directing movement of each of the coins, a stripping area of the coin path including at least one stripping surface operable to retain at least one coin when overlapping another coin such that the other coin is separated from the at least one coin by the motion imparted by the rotatable disc, and a queuing area of the coin path that receives the plurality of coins from the stripping area, the queuing area including a beveled surface curving substantially parallel with the outer peripheral edge of the resilient pad to guide the coins in a single file configuration to a discrimination area.
A resilient coin sorting pad for imparting motion to a plurality of coins is provided, the resilient coin sorting pad designed to be coupled to a rotatable disc of a coin sorter, the resilient coin sorting pad being generally circular and having an outer periphery edge. The resilient coin sorting pad comprises a lower foam layer having a top surface, an upper skin layer coupled to the top surface of the foam layer, and a layer of mesh material. According to some embodiments, the upper skin layer comprises at least one layer of nitrile rubber and the layer of mesh material is nylon fiber mesh. The re-gauging area comprises a gauging block, a lower surface, and an elevated surface. The rotation of the pad drives radial outward edges of the coins into contact with the gauging block. The elevated surface is positioned radially inward of a portion of the lower surface and the gauging block is positioned radially outward of the portion of the lower surface. When the coins contact the gauging block the coins are pressed by the pad upward toward the sorting head such that the radially inner edges of the coins are pressed into the elevated surface and a portion of the coins contacts a portion of the lower surface whereby the coins contact the gauging block in a radial outward downward tilted manner. The gauging block has a gauging wall having an upstream end and a downstream end, the downstream end of the gauging wall being positioned radially closer to the center of the pad than the upstream end of the gauging wall. The rotation of the pad drives the coins downstream along a gauging wall of the gauging block whereby the outer edges of the coins becomes radially aligned and wherein the coins are driven along the gauging wall in a radial outward downward tilted manner with the radially inward, lower edges of the coins being above the upper surface of the pad.

The image data associated with each document is reproducible as a visually readable image of at least a portion of a respective document. The document processing device determines whether each document satisfies one or more certain flag criteria. A document that satisfies one or more of the certain flag criteria is a flagged document. In response to one of the documents satisfying one of the certain flag criteria, the document processing device continues to transport subsequent documents in the stack of documents and displays on a display unit of the document processing device a visually readable image of at least a portion of the flagged document using the image data associated with the flagged document and a positional locator associated with the location of the flagged document in the output receptacle.

The separator card includes a conductive material disposed on one side, and a barcode indicative of the source of the batch of documents.
