Abstract

Disclosed is a technique capable of effectively estimating a three-dimensional location of a target node without requiring additional hardware through a geometric access by using location information of three anchor nodes. The height of a tetrahedron is calculated by calculating the volume of the tetrahedron and the area of the base plane thereof formed by three estimated distances between the three anchor nodes and the target node and by distances between the three anchor nodes. Projected estimated distances, obtained by projecting the estimated distances on a plane (H) formed by the three anchor nodes, and coordinate values of the three anchor nodes converted on a second coordinate system of the plane (H) are obtained, and then trilateration is performed using the projected estimated distances and the converted coordinate values so as to calculate an estimated location, projected on the plane (H), of the target node. A coordinate value of the calculated estimated location is converted into a coordinate value on a first coordinate system and then the height of the tetrahedron is reflected thereto so as to obtain a coordinate value of the three-dimensional estimated location of the target node. The number of required anchor nodes and the complexity of a positioning system can be decreased, calculating positioning information can be significantly simplified, and accuracy can be increased.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a method of a terminal subscribing to a network via a router or an end device in a wireless network (WN) of a tree structure comprising routers and end devices. According to the present invention, each router receives, from the parent router thereof, addresses which can be used independently for child routers or child end devices thereof, and divides the addresses into general addresses and special addresses. The present invention allows a terminal wishing to subscribe to a network to subscribe to the network by using a special address of the end device, only when the terminal cannot subscribe to the network by using a general address of the end device, thereby minimizing address depletion to be used for subscription of terminals and facilitating the end devices to subscribe a network. Additionally, if a router determines that end devices of peripheral devices have finished subscription to a network, the router selects as many child end devices having a low received signal strength (RSS) (i.e., easy to extend a network remotely) as the number of general addresses available for child routers and then converts the child end devices to child routers, thereby providing network extensibility by an increase in network depth and minimizing the use of the special addresses by the router. Furthermore, if a terminal wishing to subscribe to a network via an end device fails to subscribe to the network, or a terminal which has subscribed to a network via a router wishes to re-subscribe to the network, the present invention facilitates such a terminal to re-subscribe to the network by allowing the terminal to subscribe to the network using a special address for the router. Compared to conventional techniques, the present invention can significantly enhance the success rate of subscription to a large-scale WN through the two-step address allocation and the selection of the child routers.
