Abstract
A barrel assembly for a rifle comprising an elongated barrel having an exterior surface, an interior cylindrical bore defining a caliber, a muzzle with a crown, and a rear end with an enlarged cavity capable of receiving a round of ammunition; an elongated muzzle device permanently attached to the exterior surface of the barrel and surrounding and extending past the crown, the muzzle device including a longitudinal opening coaxial to the bore and one or more access ports positioned adjacent to the crown, such that the crown is located radially inward relative to the one or more access ports; a sleeve slidably mounted to an exterior surface of the muzzle device and capable of sliding between an open position and a closed position; wherein, when the sleeve is in the open position, the crown is accessible through the one or more access ports; and wherein, when the sleeve is in the closed position, it seals and completely covers the one or more access ports.

Abstract
One aspect of the present disclosure is directed to a crush washer for a firearm that comprises a ring of material about a center axis having an inner surface towards the center axis and an outer surface away from the center axis, and at least one groove in the inner surface or outer surface. The groove forms: a first flange having an inner surface and an outer surface with a thickness therebetween; a second flange having an inner surface and an outer surface with a thickness therebetween; and a bridge connecting the first flange and the second flange, the bridge having an inner surface and an outer surface with a thickness therebetween. In an undeformed state, the inner surface of the first flange is adjacent to, but spaced apart from, the inner surface of the second flange. In a deformed state, the inner surface of the first flange is closer to the inner surface of the second flange compared to the undeformed state. The thickness of the bridge is less than the thickness of the first flange and less than the thickness of the second flange.

Abstract
A firearm bolt assembly for a self-loading firearm has an elongated frame defining a frame axis, a bolt connected to a forward end of the frame, a plurality of separate weights connected to the frame, and the weights being movable at least slightly with respect to the frame and to each other for movement along the axis. There may be a resilient spacer element between adjacent weights. There may be a resilient spacer element between one of the weights and a portion of the frame. The spacer element may be an O-ring. The weights may be connected to a rear portion of the frame. The weights may be tubular bodies each defining a bore. A portion of the frame may be received within the bore. The frame may define a rear portion having a first diameter, and a flange forward of the rear portion having a larger second diameter.

Abstract
Disclosed is a hand guard attachment system. The system in one form comprising a barrel nut affixed to an upper receiver of the firearm and a jam nut each with a threaded outer surface aligned with and co-axial to a bore of the firearm. The rapid configuration system may include a plurality of indexing pins aligned with, but not coaxial to the bore of the firearm. The hand guard may include an inner threaded surface where the threads cooperate with the threads of the jam nut and barrel nut. A method for attachment of the hand guard to the firearm is also disclosed. The method in one form including the steps of: threading the hand guard onto the jam nut and barrel nut; and tensioning the set screws. The method may include a step where the set screws are adjusted to manipulate the angle of the hand guard relative to the bore.

Abstract
A captured spring assembly for a firearm has a rod having a forward and rearward ends, a movable buffer that defines an aperture that receives the forward end of the rod and is operable to reciprocate between a forward battery position and a rearward retracted position, a coil spring that encompasses the rod, wherein the forward end of the rod has a limit element having a head that is larger in diameter than the rod, wherein the buffer has an internal limit element that is larger in diameter than the rod, and wherein the internal limit element has at least one portion that is smaller in diameter than the limit element head, but also larger in diameter than the rod. There may be a spring stop attached to the rearward end of the rod that is large enough for the spring to bear against and the buffer to strike against.

Abstract
A trigger assembly comprising a housing adapted to mount a trigger, hammer and sear therein. The housing has an adjustment feature adapted to fixedly mount the housing within the trigger chamber portion of the firearm. The trigger assembly is particularly conducive for an AR-15 type rifle and the various sear engagement surfaces are adapted to be adjustable irrespective of the various dimensions and tolerances of the underlying firearm. A safety system is employed that adjustably allows proper engagement of the trigger tail to properly engage and disengage the safety mechanism.
