Abstract

The present invention relates to a gripper (200) for tightening connectors (120, 140) of plumbing supply lines (100), and to a method for installing and using said gripper (200). The double-use gripper (200) includes a body (205) having an upper cavity (220), a lower cavity (240), an opening (250) for receiving the plumbing supply line (100), and one or more gripping projections (270) for the user to hold. The cavities (220, 240) in the gripper (200) have shapes that match those of the respective connectors (120, 140) of the supply line (100), such that they are coupled for conjoint rotation. The gripper is particularly useful for manually tightening or loosening the connectors (120, 140) in areas where there is not enough free space for using a conventional tool.

Abstract

A toilet seal for sealing between a plumbing fixture discharge and a waste drainpipe outlet is described. The toilet seal comprises a flange member having an inwardly extending flexible lip and one or more raised ridges defining an annular seal extending upwardly from an upper surface of the flange member. The toilet seal further includes a radiused wall extending downwardly from the flange member, which cooperates with the flange member to define a cavity for receiving a compressible member. The toilet seal further comprises a flexible sleeve extending downwardly from the radiused wall. Related methods are described.

Abstract

A toilet installation aid that allows a user to determine the amount of gapping between a top surface of a toilet flange and a bottom surface of a toilet bowl. The toilet installation aid indicates the number and/or size of toilet seals needed to create a proper seal between the toilet flange and the toilet bowl. The toilet installation aid indicates if a toilet flange should be raised or if one or more spacers is needed to create a seal between a toilet bowl and the toilet flange.

Abstract

The present disclosure generally relates to improved water closet flanges and methods for installing such water closet flanges. In one exemplary embodiment, an improved water closet flange apparatus includes a flexible conduit portion (i.e. sleeve) and an integral membrane element sealing the top opening of the flexible sleeve. The membrane element is made of flexible materials such that the membrane element may be removed without breaking into pieces. In one embodiment, the integral membrane element includes indented portions to facilitate its removal. In another embodiment, the flange apparatus includes an outer flange connected to the flexible sleeve. Related methods for installing the disclosed flange apparatus between plumbing fixture discharges and waste drainpipes are also described.

Abstract

Disclosed embodiments describe a water reservoir tank used to temporarily supply a building in the event that the municipal water supply is disrupted. The municipal water supply, the tank, and the building are connected in series, so that any draw of water from the building will cause water in the tank to circulate. As water is drawn from the tank, the municipal water supply will refill the tank so long as the municipal water supply has available water pressure. In the event that the municipal water supply is disrupted, the building may continue to draw water from the reservoir tank temporarily. Once the municipal water supply becomes active again, it refills the tank. The regular circulation of water within the tank provides for a clean, hygienic, and potable back-up water supply for the building.

Abstract

The present disclosure generally relates to improved water closet flanges and methods for installing such water closet flanges. In one exemplary embodiment, an improved water closet flange apparatus includes an outer flange and a flexible conduit portion (i.e. sleeve) extending downwardly therefrom. The flexible sleeve has a sufficient degree of flexibility to accommodate connection between offset, misaligned, angled, or otherwise incongruous plumbing fixture discharges and waste drain pipe outlets. In one embodiment, the flexible sleeve includes at least one corrugated portion to aid the desired flexibility. An upper portion of the flexible sleeve may include an inwardly extending lip portion to accommodate the desired seal between the plumbing fixture discharge and the flange apparatus. Related methods for installing the disclosed flange apparatus between plumbing fixture discharges and waste drainpipes are also described.

Abstract

An improved water closet flange for connection to a plumbing fixture comprises an outer flange (10) connected to a flxible sleeve (12), in which is attached an O-ring type gasket (30). The improved flange allows the connection between a toilet bowl discharge and a waste drain pipe outlet that is offset, horizontally oriented, or diagonally placed. The O-ring type gasket is disposed on the exterior of the flexible sleeve (12) and the inner surface of the waste drain pipe for providing a tight seal.
