Abstract

A seat assembly is provided with a pump for a fluid system, such as an air system. The pump has a housing with a wall surrounding a recess, with the housing defining an inlet passage and an outlet passage. A diaphragm is positioned through the wall with a distal end within the recess, and with the inlet and outlet passages in fluid communication with an opening to the pumping chamber of the diaphragm. A cam is supported for movement along a path about a central axis within the recess, and is connected to the distal end region of the diaphragm. The cam alternately moves the distal end region radially outwardly from the central axis to compress the pumping chamber and provide flow to the outlet passage, and moves the distal end region radially inwardly towards the central axis to expand the pumping chamber and provide flow into the pumping chamber.

A DC/DC converter applies a dual active bridge (DAB) topology to convert an input DC voltage into an output DC voltage. The DC/DC converter includes a transformer, a primary stage, and a secondary stage. The primary stage includes an inductor, a first H-bridge arm having first and second power switches connected at a first node therebetween, and a second H-bridge arm having first and second capacitors connected at a second node therebetween. The inductor is connected between the first node and a terminal of an input port of the primary stage. The primary stage receives the input DC voltage at the input port of the primary stage and converts the input DC voltage into a first AC voltage. The transformer transforms the first AC voltage into a second AC voltage. The secondary stage converts the second AC voltage into the output DC voltage.

Abstract

An on-board battery charger (OBC) includes a converter (e.g., a DC/DC converter) and a controller. An output port of the converter is connectable to a battery (e.g., a traction battery of an electric vehicle (EV)) via a voltage network (e.g., a high-voltage (HV) network of the EV). The converter converts an input power into an output power and outputs the output power onto the voltage network for charging the battery. The controller, upon detecting a transitory disconnection in the voltage network, controls the converter to stop converting the input power into the output power. In stopping the converter, the controller stops the converter prior to a corresponding reconnection in the voltage network. The controller may detect the transitory disconnection upon detecting a switching frequency of a power switch of the converter decreasing below a pre-defined threshold as the switching frequency decreases due to effects of the transitory disconnection.

Abstract

Operation for performing diagnostics, such as vehicle diagnostics including short circuit and low impedance diagnostics during a high-voltage (HV) battery pre-charging a power-net of the vehicle and including insulation resistance monitoring diagnostics for measuring an insulation resistance between the power-net and another power-net, with reduced processing time includes measuring a physical parameter (voltage or current signal) as the parameter is being generated by a device-under-test to which the diagnostic process pertains. The diagnostic process requires a stable value of the parameter. The parameter variates while being generated during a beginning time and is stable while being generated during an ending time. While the parameter is being generated during the beginning time, a stable value of the parameter which the parameter will have during the ending time is predicted. The stable value of the parameter is predicted based on variation of measured values of the parameter during the beginning time.

Abstract

A method and system for balancing output currents of parallel connected first and second DC/DC converters is provided. In operation, the first converter (i) receives, via a communications line connected between the converters such as a CAN bus, a value of the output current of the second converter and (ii) uses this value in weighing an output voltage comparison performed by the first converter for generating the output current of the first converter to thereby adjust the output current of the first converter based on this value. Likewise, the second converter (i) receives, via the communications line, a value of the output current of the first converter and (ii) uses this value in weighing an output voltage comparison performed by the second converter for generating the output current of the second converter to thereby adjust the output current of the second converter based on this value.

Abstract

A vehicle interior assembly, such as a vehicle seat or a steering wheel, includes a cover assembly covering a frame. The cover assembly includes a vinyl or non-woven textile cover and an electrically conductive coating layer (“ECCL”) within an A-surface of the cover. The ECCL may function as a heater, a capacitive touch control, or lighting. Another cover assembly includes first and second ECCLs within an A-surface of a cover. The first ECCL functions as a heater and the second ECL functions as a capacitive touch control. Another cover assembly includes an ECCL and a Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) coating layer within an A-surface of a cover. The ECCL functions as a heater dependent on current received from a power source via the PTC coating layer. The PTC coating layer regulates the current received by the ECCL from the power source dependent on a temperature of the PTC coating layer.

A switch arrangement for providing alternative distribution paths in a system for distributing electrical power in a vehicle including electrical power supplies and electrical loads. The switch arrangement includes a first switch adapted to be connected to a first electrical element, a second switch adapted to be connected to the first electrical element and a second electrical element, and a third switch adapted to be connected to the electrical element and a third electrical element. Each of the first, second, and third switches is independently controllable, and selective operation of each of the first, second, and third switches to its open or closed state interconnects at least two of the first, second, and third electrical elements to establish one of multiple alternative distribution paths to connect one of the power supplies and one of the loads or to connect two of the power supplies.

Abstract

A system and method for installing a badge on a vehicle seat may include placing a trim cover on a badge, and placing a tensioning strip over the trim cover. A retaining plate may be placed over the tensioning strip, and the badge and retaining plate pressed together to capture the trim cover and the tensioning strip therebetween to form an assembly. This assembly may be positioned over a support structure of the vehicle seat such that an A-side of the badge faces toward a front of the vehicle seat. A tensile force may be applied to the tensioning strip in a direction toward a back of the vehicle seat, and the tensioning strip may then be fastened to the support structure of the vehicle seat.

Abstract

An electrical system may include a track assembly, a support assembly, a sensor, and at least one electronic control unit. The track assembly may include a bus bar. The support assembly may include a contact configured to engage the bus bar. The support assembly may be removably and adjustably connected to the track assembly. The at least one electronic control unit may be operatively connected to the bus bar and the sensor. The at least one electronic control unit may be configured to determine whether the support assembly and the track assembly are properly connected to one another.

Abstract

A vehicle seat assembly includes a panel defined as a portion of a vehicle seat, the panel defines a first aperture therethrough to access an anchor and a second aperture therethrough, and has an engagement region thereon adjacent to the second aperture, a trim cover assembly including a trim cover, a strap connecting the trim cover to the vehicle seat, a seat frame and/or a vehicle framework via the second aperture, and a holder member. The holder member is sized to retract into and emerge from the second aperture, and has an edge configured to engage the engagement region. The trim cover assembly has a first position covering the first aperture to visibly hide the anchor, and a second position with the trim cover assembly spaced apart from the aperture to provide access to the anchor, where the edge of the holder member is engaged with the engagement region.
