Abstract

A vehicle has a cargo bed including a tailgate that is movable between an open position and a closed position. In the closed position of the tailgate, an inner side of the tailgate defines an internal space of the cargo bed together with a front wall, a left side wall and a right side wall of the cargo bed. The tailgate has an inner flat surface disposed on the inner side and an outer flat surface disposed on an outer side of the tailgate. The inner and outer flat surfaces are parallel and are made of a material that is more rigid than a material of a remainder of the tailgate. In the open position of the tailgate, the inner and outer flat surfaces extend generally horizontally and the outer flat surface is disposed below the inner flat surface in order to define a clamping zone along the tailgate.

Abstract

A watercraft has a retractable lift-propulsion system including a mast connected to a buoyant body of the watercraft and movable between retracted and deployed positions. A distance between a distal end of the mast and a lower surface of the buoyant body is greater in the deployed position than in the retracted position. A lift-propulsion assembly includes a hydrofoil for providing lift to the watercraft at least in the deployed position of the mast and a propulsion unit for providing thrust to the watercraft in the retracted and deployed positions of the mast. The lift-propulsion assembly is connected to the distal end of the mast such that, in the deployed position of the mast, the lift-propulsion assembly is distanced from the buoyant body of the watercraft and, in the retracted position of the mast, the lift-propulsion assembly is proximate the buoyant body of the watercraft.

A floor tile has arcuate slots formed on its upper surface and defined about a common center of curvature. A positioning cavity is formed on the upper surface and located radially outward from a common radius of curvature of the arcuate slots. An accessory comprises a base having a bottom section. An attachment member is pivotally mounted to the base and has two arcuate hooks extending under the bottom section of the base. A locating projection extends under the bottom section of the base, being located radially outward from a pivot axis of the attachment member. To mount the accessory on the floor tile, the arcuate hooks are received in the arcuate slots and the locating projection is received in the positioning cavity. Pivoting the attachment member causes locking or unlocking of the arcuate hooks in the arcuate slots for attaching or detaching the accessory on the floor tile.

Abstract

A controllable differential system for a vehicle includes a differential that may be disengaged or engaged, and may further be locked when engaged. A differential lock switch has three positions for sending commands to an actuator for disengaging or engaging the differential and for sending commands to a controller for unlocking and locking the differential. The vehicle includes a motor, a transmission continuously connected to a rear drivetrain, and the differential mounted in a front drivetrain. The vehicle may be driven in rear-wheel drive mode when the differential is disengaged or in four-wheel drive mode when the differential is engaged. The vehicle may enforce a vehicle speed limitation or an engine speed limitation when the differential is locked while a manual override control is not activated. The vehicle may implement an anti-lock braking system that may be disabled when the differential is locked.

Abstract

A vehicle has an engine; a drive pulley connected to and driven by a crankshaft of the engine; a driven pulley; an output shaft connected to and driven by the driven pulley; a belt looped around the pulleys; and a cover connected to the engine. The cover and the engine define a volume therebetween. A baffle disposed in the volume separates the volume in first and second chambers. The first chamber is disposed between the baffle and the engine. The second chamber is disposed between the baffle and the cover. The pulleys are disposed in the second chamber. The baffle defines first and second apertures fluidly communicating the first chamber with the second chamber. An air inlet is fluidly connected to the first chamber. An air outlet is fluidly connected to the second chamber.

Abstract

An attachment system for attaching a storage container to a vehicle includes a passive attachment device for securing the storage container to the vehicle. The passive attachment device automatically secures the storage container to the vehicle when the storage container is positioned in place on the vehicle. The attachment system also includes an active attachment device manually operable by a user to selectively lock the storage container in place on the vehicle when the storage container is secured to the vehicle via the passive attachment device. The active attachment device prevents motion of the storage container relative to the vehicle when the active attachment device is engaged so as to lock the storage container in place on the vehicle. A vehicle including the storage container and the attachment system is also provided. A storage container assembly including the storage container and passive and active attachment devices is also provided.

Abstract

A method for controlling a two-stroke engine operatively connected to a turbocharger, the turbocharger being in fluid communication with the engine to provide a boost pressure thereto, the method including: comparing one of (i) an actual power output of the engine; and (ii) an exhaust temperature representative of an actual temperature of exhaust gas being discharged by the engine, with a corresponding threshold value thereof; in response to the one of the actual power output of the engine and the exhaust temperature being less than the corresponding threshold value: determining a corrective amount of boost pressure to add to the boost pressure of the turbocharger; and controlling the turbocharger to increase the boost pressure of the turbocharger by the corrective amount. Another method for controlling a two-stroke engine operatively connected to a turbocharger is also disclosed.

Abstract

A multihull watercraft has at least three hulls extending longitudinally along the watercraft. The hulls at least partly define a port side tunnel and a starboard side tunnel therebetween. A port deflection device is configured to engage water in response to the watercraft leaning toward the port side when turning. The port deflection device is laterally aligned with the port side tunnel. A starboard deflection device is configured to engage water in response to the watercraft leaning toward the starboard side when turning.
