Abstract

A method includes capturing, using an Internet of Things (IoT) device, real-time video of a user performing an exercise associated with a first exercise class. Real-time video of the user is displayed, via a display, concurrently with video of an instructor, to provide a visual comparison of the user to the instructor. Image analysis of the real-time video of the user is performed to determine a performance of the user, and a representation thereof is displayed. Biometric data associated with the user is received at the IoT device from a wearable device at multiple points in time. Heart rates are identified based on the biometric data, and scores based on the heart rates are displayed via the display. A recommendation for a second exercise class different from the first exercise class is determined based on a profile of the user, and displayed via the display.

Abstract

A method includes capturing real-time video of a user participating in a first exercise class, using an Internet of Things (IoT) device. The real-time video is displayed concurrently with video of an instructor via a display in communication with the IoT device, to provide a visual comparison of the user to the instructor. The method also includes analyzing the real-time video to determine a performance of the user, and causing display of a warning, via the display, in response to determining the performance of the user. Biometric data associated with the user is received at the IoT device from a wearable device, at multiple times. Heart rates of the user are identified based on the biometric data, and scores based on the heart rates are identified and displayed. A recommendation for a second exercise class is determined based on a profile of the user and displayed via the display.

Abstract

A processor-implemented method includes receiving a request that specifies a workout performed at a first time, a list of users, a second time after the first time, an overlay to be displayed during a rebroadcast associated with the request, and a skill level of the workout. The request is compared to calendar data, and a session acknowledgment message is sent to the compute device of the first user based on the comparison. An invitation message is sent to compute devices of a second user and a third user, identifying the second time, and invitation responses are received from the second user and the third user. In response to the invitation responses, a video of the workout is rebroadcast at the second time, to a smart mirror of the first user, a smart mirror of the second user and a smart mirror of the third user.

Abstract

A user of a smart mirror schedules a rebroadcast of a previously recorded fitness class, to be displayed concurrently via multiple smart mirrors associated with multiple multiplexed geographically remote users who are “invitees” to the rebroadcast. Non-invitees can be blocked from accessing the rebroadcast. During the rebroadcast, invitees and the user can view live video feeds of one another, and can communicate with one another using voice, text, and/or graphic symbols (e.g., emojis). The voice communications can occur via the microphones/speakers of the mirrors, and the text and/or graphic symbols can be displayed via the mirrors. Optionally, real-time biometric data of the user can be displayed via the user's smart mirror and/or via smart mirrors of other invitees.

Abstract

A smart mirror can show live or recorded streaming video of an instructor performing a workout in a package that is attractive and unobtrusive enough to hang in a living room. The smart mirror includes a mirror surface with a fully reflecting section and a partially reflecting section. A display behind the partially reflecting section shows the video when the smart mirror is on and is almost invisible when the smart mirror is off. The smart mirror also has a speaker, a microphone, and a camera to enable a user to view the video content and interact with the instructor. The smart mirror may connect to the user's smart phone, a peripheral device (e.g., a Bluetooth speaker) to augment user experience, a biometric sensor to provide biometric data to assess user performance, and/or a network router to connect the smart mirror to a content provider, an instructor, and/or other users.

Abstract

An interactive exercise method includes streaming exercise content to an interactive video system for display via a mirror, the exercise content including a depiction of an instructor performing a repetitive movement. A video stream of a user performing the repetitive movement is received, via a camera of the interactive video system, and the user is detected in the video stream. The user or a body portion thereof is tracked in the video stream as the user performs the repetitive movement. The method also includes generating a measure of a difference between a form of the user performing the repetitive movement and a predetermined form for the repetitive movement. A corrective movement is displayed to the user, via the display and during the display of the instructor performing the repetitive movement, based on the measure, to conform the form of the user to the predetermined form for the repetitive movement.
