Abstract

The present invention provides a composition for preventing and treating inflammatory edema due to surgery and plastic surgery, the composition comprising an extract of Phaseolus angularis Wight as an active ingredient. Administering the extract of Phaseolus angularis Wight according to the present invention after administering LPS to an animal model and causing an inflammatory response was found to inhibit inflammation mediators and IL-1 beta mRNA, IL-6 mRNA, TNF-alpha and IL-4 expressed in the inflammatory response. Also, the extract of Phaseolus angularis Wight was found to increase IL-10 expression, which is involved in early inflammatory response, and inhibit IL-18, which is involved in acquired immune response, decrease the amount of edema, observed with the naked eye, in the soles of the animal model and decrease the amount of cell infiltration in sole tissue, and thus was found to be effective for alleviating and treating inflammatory edema. Therefore, the present invention can be used in useful enterprises associated with inflammatory edema.

Abstract

The present invention provides a composition for prevention and treatment of arthritis-induced inflammatory edema, comprising a Lysimachia christinae Hance extract as an active ingredient. For the Lysimachia christinae Hance extract of the present invention, it has been identified that, when an inflammatory response is induced in an animal model by administering LPS, and then the Lysimachia christinae Hance of the present invention is administered, IL-1 beta mRNA, IL-6 mRNA, TNF-alpha, IL-4 expressed in an inflammatory response and inflammatory mediator material are inhibited. In addition, it has been identified that IL-10 mRNA involved in an initial inflammatory response is increased, IL-18 mRNA involved in an adaptive immune response is inhibited, edema of the sole of the foot of the animal model is also visibly reduced to the naked eye, and, as a result of checking foot sole tissue, infiltrated cells are also reduced, and thus, by identifying that the present invention is effective for reduction and treatment of inflammatory edema, the present invention may be used in relevant useful businesses.

In embodiments, hidden vector movement and hidden vector compensation for image compression based on a neural network are described. Hidden vector movement is a method for improving the efficiency of entropy encoding by moving a component of a hidden vector which is difficult to estimate by a probability model of the hidden vector. Hidden vector compensation is a method for reducing image quality degradation of a reconstructed image by compensating for information lost by hidden vector movement. A reconstructed image having a higher image quality can be provided by hidden vector movement and hidden vector compensation.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating obesity, wherein the pharmaceutical composition contains Polygalin C as an active ingredient. The Polygalin C not only reduces the accumulation of lipids by inhibiting the differentiation of preadipocytes into adipocytes, but also inhibits adipogenic factors and modulates AMPK/ACC and MAPK/Akt signaling pathways to inhibit the differentiation of adipocytes, and thus can treat obesity more effectively. In addition, the present invention inhibits adipogenic factors and inflammatory factors in a free fatty acid-induced non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) cell model, and thus can effectively treat and prevent non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) including hepatic steatosis and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis.

Abstract

The present invention relates to an anticancer agent capable of overcoming EGFR-TKI resistance in KRAS mutant cancer. GW8510 according to the present invention is an effective inhibitor against oncogene mutation, especially, KRAS mutation, generated in cancer resistant to the anticancer agent EGFR inhibitor and remarkably inhibits expression of both the wild-type and various mutants of KRAS, whereby the drug itself exhibits an anticancer effect, surmounts anticancer resistance, and noticeably promotes the death of anticancer-resistant cancer cells when used in combination with an anticancer agent. Thus, the inhibitor finds advantages applications in treating cancer, especially resistant cancer.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a negative active material for a lithium secondary battery, a lithium secondary battery having same, and a manufacturing method thereof. The present invention is to improve high-rate charging characteristics without deterioration of charging/discharging efficiency and lifespan characteristics when applied as a negative active material of a lithium secondary battery by forming a coating layer containing self-bound porous carbon particles on the surface of a carbon-based material, thereby reducing resistance during insertion of lithium ions on the surface of the carbon-based material and improving reactivity and structural stability of the surface. The negative active material according to the present invention includes a carbon-based material, and a porous carbon coating layer self-bound to the surface of the carbon-based material. In this case, a self-bound amorphous carbon coating layer can selectively control a pore structure through chemical etching.

Abstract

Disclosed is a method for selecting a gene. To this end, the method comprises the steps of: acquiring gene expression level data and a phylogenetic tree on the basis of the protein sequence of genes of a subject; if a specific gene input as a query is included among genes sharing the same domain in the phylogenetic tree, determining a correlation by comparing the expression pattern of the specific gene and the expression patterns of each of the genes in the phylogenetic tree; determining a target gene having an overlapping function with the specific gene among the genes of the subject, on the basis of the correlation determined for said specific gene; and providing information about the determined target gene.

Abstract

The present invention relates to: a composition for differentially diagnosing acanthamoeba keratitis, the composition comprising chorismate mutase antibodies; and an acanthamoeba keratitis diagnosis kit using same. The composition comprising chorismate mutase antibodies according to the present invention causes an antigen-antibody reaction only specific to chorismate mutase secreted from acanthamoeba, thus making it possible to diagnose and identify the cause of acanthamoeba keratitis more rapidly and accurately than existing methods for diagnosing acanthamoeba keratitis. The composition is expected to be widely applicable to the production of acanthamoeba keratitis diagnosis kits, therapeutic agents, contact lens disinfecting agents, etc.

Abstract

The present invention relates to nanoparticles for delivering a brain cancer cell-targeting drug which is surface-treated with a peptide for targeting brain cancer cells, a method for preparing same, and use thereof and, more particularly, to nanoparticles for delivering a brain cancer cell-targeting drug, a method for preparing same, and use of the nanoparticles for brain cancer treatment, the nanoparticles comprising: porous silicon nanoparticles in which an anti-cancer drug is encapsulated; and a peptide which is bound to the surfaces of the nanoparticles and has the ability to target brain cancer cells. The nanoparticles according to the present invention enable the specific delivery of conventional anti-cancer drugs that exhibit low tissue specificity and solubility, to caveolin receptor-overexpressing glioblastoma by passing through the blood-brain barrier, thereby inducing a more efficient effect of treating glioblastoma, and thus can be used as an effective drug carrier for glioblastoma treatment. Thus, the nanoparticles improve the efficiency of anti-cancer drugs with poor in-vivo distribution and can be applied to the treatment of caveolin-overexpressing cancer cells, and therefore, are expected to be effectively used in clinical anti-cancer research fields.
