Abstract

Proposed is a digital system and a method for forecasting and/or allocating risk measures for an occurrence of an impact event causing a physical loss or damage impact on cargo and/or cargo logistics causing a negative impact on the cargo and/or the cargo logistics services. Sets of measurable cargo logistics parameters are captured by the system as logistics input signals from a cargo logistics services database and are transmitted to an allocation structure. Each set of measurable cargo logistics parameters at least comprises cargo parameters and/or logistics parameters. At least one risk factor indicating a measured negative impact risk for the cargo and/or the cargo logistics services is captured by the system as risk input signals. Each of the risk factors at least corresponds to a measured impact strength or impact type of a negative impact on the cargo and/or the cargo logistics services, and/or a quantified damage at the cargo and/or on the cargo logistics services. At least one measurable cargo logistics parameter is assigned a risk factor by the allocation structure that corresponds to a measured value of the measurable cargo logistics parameters. An aggregated risk measure for the cargo logistics services is automatically generated by an aggregating structure of the processing unit based on the at least one risk factors allocated to measurable cargo logistics parameters and is provided as output signal by a signal generator to predict an occurrence of a measurable negative impact.

Abstract

A system and method for providing a liability temperature measure based on a time-dependent, composite indexing parameter. Measurement parameters assigned to parameterized liability risk drivers are measured for generating the measured time-dependent, composite indexing parameter. The used liability risk drivers are selected based on their impact to the measured variable composite index parameter and dynamically normalized to each other. The normalization is based on a defined transformation applied to the final time series of the parameters providing individual set weights. Based on the weighted liability risk drivers and sets of liability risk drivers, a minimum number of liability risk drivers in relation to maximized statistical significance is selected by applying an index assembly and validation unit. The index assembly and validation unit provides the minimum number of liability risk drivers as a reduced set of liability risk drivers out of all available liability risk drivers using best fit characteristics.

Abstract

A risk parsing device provides risk splitting and loss event diversification for a multi-risk forecast systems capturing multiple loss aggregation under complex environmental conditions based on the occurrence of defined loss events. The loss events are triggered by one or more involved causing units and affected units, wherein the loss events evolve from one or multiple risk accumulating sources. Risk events related loss measures can be scattered over multiple causing units or multiple related clash events. The multi-risk forecast system provides loss-generating processes and events, wherein the inventive risk splitter is a technical core element to generate an event-related loss distribution mirroring cause-effect chains induced by the risk events which extend over space and time. The risk splitter module allows automated splitting of the risk based on risk exposed, causing unit characteristics and risk exposed affected units' characteristics. The causing unit characteristics comprises for each causing unit assigned activity characteristic parameters and participation characteristic parameters of said causing unit defining for a specific causing unit a specific set of executable activity link members and market share driving participation probabilities. The causing unit characteristics comprises quota parameters defining affected populations of affected units with incidence and defining refined effect types.

Abstract

A system and a method for the determination and forecast of absolute and relative risks for car accidents based on exclusively non-insurance related measuring data and based on automated traffic pattern recognition, wherein data records of accident events are generated and location-dependent probability values for specific accident conditions associated with the risk of car accident are determined. The proposed system provides a grid-based, technically new way of automation of risk-prediction related to motor accidents using environment based factors including socio-economic factors that are impacting motor traffic and are location dependent received from appropriate measuring devices and systems. In this way, predictions of the accident risk for arbitrary areas can be provided. The system is calibrated by comparing features of areas or road segments with the number and type of accidents that have measured or registered there, linking the features and accident data e.g. using the below discussed machine learning techniques.

Abstract

An automated, real-time mortality classification and signaling system for real-time risk assessment, and adjustment based on an automated selective multi-level triage process, where risks associated with a plurality of risk-exposed individuals are at least partially transferable from a risk-exposed individual to a first insurance system and from the first insurance system to an associated second insurance system, the real-time mortality classification and signaling system accesses a database stored in a memory to retrieve risk classes, identifies and selects a specific risk class associated with the risk of the exposed individual, processes specific parameters of the exposed individual using a machine learning-based pattern recognition to automatically assign risk-exposed individuals with detected non-smoking patterns to a second triage channel, and automatically assigning risk-exposed individuals with detected smoking patterns to a third triage channel as predicted smokers. Based on the classified risk, the system provides an alert notification to a third-party system.

Abstract

An electronic, real-time system performs maneuver recognition of vehicles based on dynamically measured telematics data, particularly the sensory data of smartphone sensors, and more particularly data from the accelerometer sensor and the global positioning system (GPS) sensor and/or the gyroscope sensor of a smartphone. The axes of the smartphone may be moving independently relative to the axes of the vehicle and thus do not need to be aligned with the axes of the vehicle. Driver behaviors and operational parameters are automatically measured and discriminated, based on automatically individuated and measured driver maneuvers within various measured vehicle trajectories, and an output signal is generated based upon derived risk measure parameters and/or crash attitude measure parameters. The system can use score-driven, especially risk-score driven, operations associated with motor vehicles or transportation modes for passengers or goods, and reliant on a dynamic, telematics-based data aggregation and dynamically measured driving maneuvers, respectively.

Abstract

A system for risk sharing of a variable number of objects includes circuitry that receives transmitted air data parameters of aircraft controllers and/or ground-based flight controllers of air-ports or flight control systems and filters the transmitted air data parameters to detect flight indicators indicating predicted or actual flight time parameters assigned to a specific flight trajectory of an aircraft. The circuitry also dynamically triggers the flight time parameters via data flow pathway of the aircraft controllers and/or the ground-based flight controllers based on a predefined time-delay threshold value. For each triggered occurrence of a time delay associated with the specific flight trajectory, the circuitry sets a corresponding trigger-flag to all the objects assignable to that flight, and allocates a parametric transfer of payments to each trigger-flag.

Abstract

Proposed is an adaptive, layered, automated risk-transfer system and method thereof, with a self-optimizing, increased leveraged capacity and enhanced drop-down cover structure with a plurality of adjustable risk-transfer layers. If a triggered risk-event is assignable to either of the top risk-transfer layer or the bottom risk-transfer layer of the drop-down cover structure, a shared exhaustion factor is generated based on the assigned risk-transfer layer and based on a cover of the loss associated with the triggered risk event. The shared exhaustion factor is applied mutually to both layers by the system eroding both layers by the same exhaustion factor. The top layer and the bottom layer are reinstatable by a corresponding generated normalized reinstatement parameter values normalized over both layers and based on a thus provided shared limit and the erosion of the top layer and the bottom layer.

Abstract

Proposed is an operationally independent clash loss event triggering risk transfer system and a method for risk sharing for a variable number of risk exposure components through the provision of independent risk protection for the risk exposure components by means of a risk transfer structure implemented by circuitry, which captures risk transfers of the exposure to multiple retentions of the components that may occur when two or more of the associated risk exposure components suffer a loss from the occurrence of the same risk event. The system triggers clash loss events simultaneously impacting various layers an/or segments of the risk transfer structure. Furthermore, an event-driven switching device may be deployed for the complementary switching of two coupled, autonomously operated resource-pooling systems, where the operation of the systems remains stable under particularly large losses triggered by the same measurement of a risk event.

Abstract

An automated, inter-arrival-time-based system and method for automated prediction and exposure-signaling of associated, catastrophic risk-event driven or triggered risk-transfer systems, for low frequency catastrophic or operational risk events and automated risk-transfer. Risk-events are measured and assigned to a historic hazard set comprising event parameters for each assigned risk-event. Risk-exposed units and/or the automated risk-transfer systems are provided with corresponding risk-transfer parameters for automated risk-transfer and/or automated risk-event cover. An event loss set is based on the measured frequencies with associated losses of said risk-events of the hazard set, each of said risk-events creating a set specific loss. Time-stamps, based on an automatically and/or dynamically estimated distribution of corresponding inter-arrival times parameters, capture a waiting time between consecutive events of the period loss set. The waiting times measure the time intervals between two successive risk-events and capture peril specific temporal clustering and/or seasonal occurrence patterns.

Abstract

Proposed are a system and a method for a dynamically triggered risk-transfer system based on an automatically steered, floating recoverable basis. The system triggers coupled first and second insurance systems providing self-sufficient risk protection for a variable number of defined risk exposure components. In the case of the occurrence of one of the defined risk events, the occurred loss is automatically covered by the first insurance system. A first trigger module triggers a variable loss ratio parameter via an alterable loss ratio threshold value, wherein the trigger system comprises an aggregation module for automatically aggregating captured loss parameters of the measured occurrence of risk events over all risk exposure components within a predefined time period by incrementing an associated stored aggregated loss parameter and for automatically aggregating the received and stored first payment parameters over all risk exposure components within the predefined time period by incrementing an associated stored, aggregated payment parameter, and wherein the variable loss ratio parameter is generated dynamically based upon the ratio of the aggregated loss parameter and the aggregated payment parameter. Triggering the variable loss ratio parameter exceeding said loss ratio threshold value, a second trigger module of the trigger system is activated, wherein a floating activation value is dynamically set to the value of the variable loss ratio parameter subject to the aggregated loss parameter. The floating activation value is triggered by means of an adjustable minimum activation threshold trigger. If said floating activation value exceeding the minimum activation threshold trigger is triggered, the second insurance system is automatically activated by transferring activation signaling by means of the system to the second insurance system covering, upon activation, said adopted portion of risk exposures accumulated by the first insurance system.

Abstract

A controller and method for state-transition-based processing of objects following a state-structured process flow with plural process states. For each process state, one or more tasks are selected to process a transition of a selected object from one process state to a subsequent process state. State parameters of the object are captured. The current process state of the object is determined based on the captured state parameters. The tasks are generated for a specific process state in dependence on assigned task parameters of a process task. Operating tags are expendably assigned to a process task by an assigner unit or assignee unit, the operating tags including dynamically alterable operating parameters adding operational constraints to processing the process task. The state-structured process flow is dynamically generated and processed by triggering defined threshold and/or trigger values and/or steering the processing of the process tasks based on the operating parameters of the operating-tags.

Abstract

Proposed are a system and a method for the automated measurement, accumulation and monitoring of diverging cyber risks, wherein risk components are exposed by electronic means of the risk components to a plurality of cyber risks. An accumulation device is used for the segmentation of the total cyber risk of a risk component by means of parametrizable risk exposure segments, and wherein, in a searchable trigger table, retrievably stored segmentation parameters are associated with corresponding measuring parameters for capturing the risk exposure of a specific risk exposure segment. The system comprises a trigger module that is connected to the risk components by means of capturing devices in order to dynamically defect and capture measuring values for the measuring parameters related to the occurrence of cyber risk events within the data pathway of said electronic means. By means of the accumulation device, the total risk is accumulated, segmentation by segmentation, by sequentially selecting the segmentation parameters from the trigger table and retrieving the associated measuring parameters for each of the segmentation parameters, and then triggering the trigger module based on the retrieved measuring parameters to capture measuring values for the retrieved measuring parameters from the risk components by means of the capturing devices.

Abstract

Forecasting frequencies associated with future loss and loss distributions for individual risks associated with operating units, each which have a measurable liability exposure, is accomplished via independently operated liability risk drivers. The frequencies associated with future loss and loss distributions are also forecasted for an automated operation of a loss resolving unit via a control unit controller. When a loss occurs at a loss unit, measure parameters are measured and transmitted to the control unit controller. The control unit controller dynamically assigns the measure parameters to the liability risk drivers and tunes the operation of the loss resolving unit by resolving the loss via the loss resolving unit.

Abstract

In a computer system and in a computer-implemented method for managing financial funding of a finite insurance policy provided by an insurer to an insured, a fixed amount of the financial funding is stored as an amount payable by the insured for a calculation period. In addition, a variable amount of the financial funding is calculated based on defined conditions and the variable amount is stored as an amount payable by the insured for the calculation period. Preferably, an index value based on a volatile indicator is stored. Depending on the index value, it is determined whether the variable amount is payable by the insured or whether an insured loss is payable by the insurer to the insured for the calculation period. The variable amount or the insured loss, respectively, is calculated based on the index value. Consequently, funding of the insurance can be accelerated in good calculation periods having no losses. In bad calculation periods, on the other hand, extra funds accumulated in good calculation periods can be used by the insurer to pay insured losses.

Abstract

An earthquake damage prediction and prevention system for determining an impact or damage caused by an earthquake to objects associated with different geographical locations. A central unit with a filter module selects and collects earthquake related data of a plurality of network units. At least one impact ratio table is stored with a first data structure for storing geographical and/or topographical data coordinates of the different geographical locations. The geometric distances of the geographical locations from a hypocenter/epicenter are generated by an intensity calculation module with a coordinates processor. Local intensity values based upon the generated geometric distances and a given earthquake magnitude of a stored parameterization including variable weight parameters are generated by a propagation calculation unit of the intensity calculation module, whereas the generated geometric distances are stored assigned to the corresponding geographical locations by a second data structure of the impact ratio table.

Abstract

For determining an impact index which indicates the image or damage caused by an earthquake to a portfolio, an equation is stored for calculating a local earthquake intensity for a geographical location. The portfolio includes geographical locations and individual weighting factors assigned to the geographical locations. Furthermore, for the geographical locations stored are one or more impact ratio tables including impact ratios for different earthquake intensity levels. The impact index is calculated for the geographical locations by determining in each case the impact ratio for the local intensity at the respective geographical location, and adding up the impact ratios weighted in each case by the weighting factor assigned to the respective geographical location. An impact index that reflects the geographical distribution of the portfolio can be determined, without the need for a network of seismological measurement stations associated with the geographical locations.

Abstract

A computer-based system creates a data object by preparing a data structure for the data object in a database and processes the data object at different processing stages each associating a different workflow state with the data object. The system can take and store automatically a snapshot of the data object, prior to a workflow transition of the data object from a first workflow state to a second workflow state, respectively associated with the snapshot and with the data object. The system also creates a unique locating reference for the snapshot based on a unique locating reference created previously for the data object. When the unique locating reference for the data object is received, controlled access to the data object and the snapshot is provided. Based on one unique locating reference, multiple states of the data object can be easily and efficiently made available concurrently to a user.

Abstract

A triggering and activating device and an automated process coupling two reciprocally activatable monitoring devices or operational-intervention devices. A first synchronizing module synchronizes transmissible operational-intervention parameters of a lookup table with operational devices assigned to the first monitoring device, and a second synchronizing module synchronizes storable threshold-value parameters for activating the second monitoring device. Physical measuring parameters of intervention events are detected and transmitted to the activating device, an intervention-event stack being correspondingly incremented by a first filter module based on the physical measuring parameters and a dynamically implemented weighting of the lookup table. By the first filter module, based on the synchronized threshold parameters and the intervention-event stack, corresponding activating parameters are generated and, if the activating parameters exceed the predetermined threshold value, the second monitoring device is activated by an activating unit and a corresponding activating pulse.

Abstract

A computer-based system configured to calculate an estimated risk premium for reinsurance of a cedent's insurance policies covering loss event related fatalities and disabilities. The system stores, for different market scenarios, representative of loss events for a defined insurance market, frequency of loss event and number of insured individuals involved in the loss event. Based on these market scenarios and considering the cedent's market share, the system calculates individual scenarios, indicative of the cedent's exposure to the loss events. Using a standard distribution for the number of insured individuals involved in the loss event, for example a Pareto distribution, and using individual scenarios as interpolation points, the system calculates a set of loss event frequencies by number of individuals insured by the cedent and involved in a loss event. Finally, the system calculates the estimated risk premium from the set of loss event frequencies and from severity data.
