A skin treatment method involves applying fine liquid droplets of a liquid composition containing a polymer A and a volatile solvent B to skin. The fine liquid droplets applied to the skin are dried to contract the skin. A mass of the fine liquid droplets applied to the skin as measured per one droplet thereof is from 0.001 to 100 μg, and an average diameter of the fine liquid droplets is 10 μm to 500 μm. The polymer A has a deformation ratio of 0.3 to 1 as measured by a method of drying the liquid composition on a polyethylene sheet. A makeup method using the skin treatment method is also described.
