ABSTRACT Some embodiments include an optic guard to protect an optic of a firearm assembly and the housing of said optic. In one embodiment, the optic guard includes mounting section to couple to a firearm assembly independently of the housing of said optic, and a frame arranged to protect the optic, in which the frame may be arranged to protect top and sides of the housing of said optic. In another embodiment, the optic guard includes a bracket having a first side to attach to a firearm assembly and a second side defining an optic attachment, and a frame on the mounting section in which the frame may be arranged to protect the optic and top and sides of the housing of said optic.
