Abstract

A master meter (120) is connected to a data concentrator (110) via a first power line communication network (100) and to remote basic meters (131, 132, 133) via a second power line communication network (101). The master meter (120) emulates a smart electrical meter application in relation to the data concentrator (110) for each remote basic meter (131, 132, 133), in particular in order to construct a corresponding load curve. Fraud is detected when the ratio of energy consumption stated by all the remote basic meters to energy consumption measured by the master meter (120) is lower than a predefined threshold and, in addition, several load curves show a zero-crossing. The master meter (120) compares total energy consumptions estimated based on extrapolations of certain load curves with the measured energy consumption in order to identify which remote basic meter (131, 132, 133) is subject to fraud.

Abstract

A modem for a smart electricity meter (120) obtains, following a recording in the ad hoc power line communication network (101), routing information and encryption information, through exchanges of messages within the power line communication network (101). The smart electricity meter (120) saves the routing information and the encryption information in non-volatile memory, the routing information being saved along with an item of information that represents a time at which the routing information is saved. During a subsequent re-recording of the smart electricity meter (120) following a disconnection from the power line communication network (101), the smart electricity meter (120) collects (508, 509) the routing and encryption information that was previously saved in the non-volatile memory (310), updates same by deleting any outdated routing information, and uses same to communicate within the power line communication network (101).

Abstract

A method for recording information from a set of electric meters, called meters, connected by a power supply network to a data hub, called hub, with which said meters communicate through a power line carrier. The method is based on categorising the meters into a plurality of categories. A first category, recorded first, consolidates meters that have not been recorded during the last execution of the method. The other categories consolidate the meters as a function of a response rate to requests for information originating from the hub, the categories consolidating the meters having the lowest response rates being recorded last. In each category, each meter is categorised as a function of information representing a topology of the network influencing a risk of failure of transmissions of information by said meter. The hub takes into account the categorisation of the meters when recording the meters of said network in order to reduce occurrences of conflicting periods.

Abstract

Within the framework of a dynamic adaptation of a data rate during emission from a terminal device in a wireless communications network, pre-defined emission profiles corresponding to respective data rates are respectively associated with sensitivities during reception. A server carries out an optimisation of said data rate during emission in successive stages, and the decision to move on to a new stage is made according to a rate of frame delivery in relation to a predefined threshold. The server selects the emission profile to be applied to the terminal device maintaining at least a predefined margin, depending on the stage of the optimisation, between the indication of the level of signal received and sensitivity during reception corresponding to said emission profile.

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for configuring communication parameters of a first network LoRa gateway designated by a server of said network to relay a response to a request containing data received by the server. The data comes from a terminal of said network. The response is transmitted by the server and intended for the terminal. The method, when implemented by the first gateway, includes: obtaining communication parameters, and configuring the first gateway so as to transmit the response to the terminal by using said parameters. Said parameters are obtained by a determination procedure (52, 53, 54) that determines, when a distance between the first gateway and a second gateway is less than a threshold, communication parameters making it possible to ensure reliable transmission from the first gateway to the terminal and minimize disruption, by said transmission, of communications from the second gateway.

Abstract

In a communication network in the form of a tree of node devices and in which collisions of messages may occur, node devices may be relays between a concentrator device which is root of the tree and other node devices which are respectively attached to them, the node devices which are not relays being terminal node devices. The node devices implementing a monitoring mechanism in which the concentrator device despatches to the devices requests for verification of presence to which said node devices must respond before expiry of a predetermined timeout so as to notify of their presence in the communication network on pain of being considered to be disconnected from the communication network. The monitoring mechanism is deactivated (306) for certain at least of the relay node devices, and is activated (305) for the other node devices of the communication network. When at least all the terminal node devices attached directly or indirectly to a relay node device are considered disconnected by the monitoring mechanism, said relay node is considered to be disconnected from the communication network.

Abstract

According to the invention, a master device of a first communication network is adapted for transmitting, in principle at regular intervals, beacons for synchronizing power-line communications in the first communication network. In order to determine the times when the beacons must be transmitted, said master device carries out the following steps: listening (S502) to the communication channel in order to detect potential beacons transmitted in a second communication network; when a beacon is detected, determining (S505; S508) a transmission time of a beacon transmitted by a master device of the second network; and determining (S509) times of future beacon transmissions by the master device of the first communication network such that said future beacon transmissions occur, in principle, at the same time as the future beacon transmissions by the master device of the second communication network.

Abstract

An electrical meter retrieves measurement data to be made available and classifies each item of data retrieved, as a function of a minimum number of bits to represent said data item. The electrical meter determines, for each class of a predetermined plurality of classes, a number of bits assigned to represent each item of data of said class, as a function of the minimum numbers of bits for respectively representing the data of said class. The electrical meter compresses (S306) each data item retrieved, by representing said data item on a number of bits equal to the number of bits assigned to the class of said data item and by inserting before the compressed data item a predefined prefix associated with said class. The electrical meter includes (S307) in a header, for each class, an item of information representative of the number of bits assigned to represent each data item of said class.

Abstract

The present invention relates to the field of systems and methods of diagnosis of apparatuses constituting a vast machine-to-machine communication network. The system proposed is based on a virtual network linking the various apparatuses so as to form a hierarchical tree. This virtual network is reliant on the network for real communication between the apparatuses. However, the topology of the virtual network is independent of that of the real network. Each apparatus comprises a diagnostic agent offering local self-diagnostic capabilities. Each apparatus makes it possible to offer a state of its operation and of the operation of the entire sub-network of which it is the father. The self-diagnostic capabilities of an apparatus are implemented either locally on the apparatus, or within apparatuses of its close network environment as a function of the capabilities of the various items of equipment.

The frame also comprises a device identifier whose value defines whether the device, that sent the frame, is at the origin of the propagation of the frame in the network and an information item, termed the event information item, which indicates whether the event is still occurring on the device which is at the origin of the propagation of the frame in the network or whether this event is no longer occurring on this device. The present invention also relates to a method of propagating an event occurring on a device of a structured radiofrequency communication network and a device implementing the method.

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for controlling the opening or closing of an AC electric circuit in an electric meter by means of a relay. Said method times the relay activation controls by taking account of the inertia delay (id) of the relays, so that the actual relay activation control triggers the actual action of the relays on the electric circuit when an electric parameter of said circuit reaches a zero value, in order to limit the formation of electric arcs in the relay.

Abstract

The invention relates to the field of radio communication devices and, more specifically, gateways connected to (i) a cellular radio communication network via a packet data communication network, such as an IP network, and (ii) cellular mobile communication terminals. The invention uses the same oscillator to provide both the reference clock of the radio sub-system and the reference clock of the general processor of the device. The fact that the same oscillator is used for these two components also allows embodiments in which some of the functions that have hitherto been conferred to a hardware control component, itself operating with the aid of a clock derived from the radio oscillator and being involved in the control of said oscillator, can now be conferred to a software component that is executed on the general processor of the gateway.

Abstract

In the field of the allocating of communication addresses to devices connected to a carrier-current communication network and more particularly, networks for the remote reading of electrical meters from a data concentration apparatus through the electrical network, there is proposed an improved method of allocating MAC addresses for this type of network making it possible to save a great deal of time during the address allocation phase. This method proposes in particular that a list associating the serial numbers of the devices and the MAC address allocated be stored at the level of the central device for allocating addresses. It is also proposed that a cataloguing request be sent, serving to allocate the MAC address prior to the sending of a communication frame.
