Abstract

In order to ensure that the probability of successfully combatting RAM threats is substantially increased, according to the invention, in order to protect objects (1) from attacking ammunition bodies (3) by means of defensive missiles, a blocking volume (2) around the object (1) and/or a blocking distance from the attacking ammunition body (3) is determined and monitored. For this purpose, at least one fictitious penetration point (4a) of the flight path (4) of the attacking ammunition body (3) is determined, at which penetration point the last possible combat against the attacking ammunition body (3) by one or more weapons (5) from inside or outside of the blocking volume (2) and/or the blocking distance can occur. This region is monitored. If a threat is detected, a threat analysis is performed, the deployment is subsequently coordinated, optionally while taking into account a deployment maxim, target tracking is performed, aiming is performed, and an individual round, a salvo, and/or several sub-salvos with preferred cease-fires are triggered.

Abstract

The invention relates to a method in which a deeper analysis of the measurement curve(s) is carried out in addition to the conventional calculation of the muzzle velocity (V0) up to the subsequent or additional round (post-processing) in order to obtain a precise value for the velocity (V0). Said precise value can then be taken into account for the subsequent round (in a weighted manner) in that the measured velocity value (V0) of the second (or additional) round is provided with a correction factor that results from the comprehensive data analysis of the first (and/or the previous) round. At the same time, the correction factor is weighted. The aim of the invention is to obtain a corresponding value in a brief period of time. This is achieved in that a quick and optimized signal analysis is carried out (during the post-processing), said analysis being characterized in that the signals are manipulated.

Abstract

According to the invention, the revolver cylinder is rotated at least approximately at a speed that corresponds to the normal rate of fire of the weapon. When a predetermined loading step is reached, the trigger of the weapon is controlled such that fire can be opened essentially without delay. The weapon is fired without break immediately after (with) the loading process. At the same time, the weapon is transferred, thus only directly before firing, from a secure SAFE state to the CHARGED state, whereby the safety standards of the weapon are significantly improved. The time during which the weapon is in the state of operational and firing readiness and not in the SAFE state is minimized or entirely eliminated, which considerably increases the operating safety. Extending the time in the SAFE state allows the level of testing for the weapon (for example for the trigger) to be greater, which in turn results in greater reliability of the weapon.

Abstract

Provision is made for a platform (1) according to the invention to be able to be installed at the intended site thereof without the aid of floating cranes or helicopters. The intended site in the vicinity of the installations to be protected, such as maritime oil fields, oil-producing installations or wind farms, should also be selected to be dependent on the range of the installed sensors and defence devices. The platform (1) can be installed on the sea bottom, with it subsequently being possible to lift this platform (1) again and put it into operation again at another intended site. Nor are any floating cranes or helicopters needed for this new positioning. The platform (1) according to the invention is stable in all states: during the floating phase to the intended site and equally during the use phase after installation on the sea bottom. The design of the platform (1) is selected such that it is suitable over a wide range of water depths, for example for depths between ten and thirty metres, but equally also for other water depths.

Abstract

The invention proposes guiding or rotating a laser beam (12) around the centre (13) of the instantaneous target course of a projectile (1) in such a way that the projectile (1) itself detects a divergence thereof and subsequently carries out a self-correction. To this end, a first laser beam (11) is emitted over a certain region (15) around the target course of the projectile (1), wherein said laser beam can at the same time initiate the start of a timing process. For example, a further rotating laser beam (12) having a fixed rotational frequency Ω is simultaneously positioned around the region (15). With the help of said second laser beam (12), the projectile recognises the divergence thereof from the target course and initiates the correction based on the determined divergence. The magnitude of the determined divergence is then used to effect the timed initiation of the correction. To this end, delays in the release are implemented in the projectile (1).

Abstract

The invention relates to a reduction in the measurement construction by reducing the distance (zx) between the receiving (3, 4) and transmitting coupler (2) to preferably 0 mm. However, the implementation of this concept is complicated by the fact that, below a certain distance (zκ) between the couplers (2, 3, 4), it is no longer possible to determine individual terms, but only so-called sum fields. This requires a splitting of said sum fields in order to determine the muzzle velocity (v0) therefrom.

Abstract

An apparatus is proposed for measurement of the muzzle velocity (V0) of a projectile (6) or the like, as well as a method which can be carried out using this apparatus. The apparatus comprises a weapon or launch barrel as a waveguide (1), a signal generator (4) which is electrically connected via a signal supply to at least one transmitting coupler (2) for excitation of the weapon or launch barrel (1), and a receiving line for passing on the signals measured at at least one receiving coupler (3) to an evaluation device (5). The distance between the transmitting coupler (2) and the receiving coupler or couplers (3) is variable and can be selected individually depending on the mode selection of the waveguide (1). The receiving coupler (3) should be placed with respect to the transmitting coupler (2) depending on the preferred measurement method. If the velocity is measured after the projectile (6) has passed through, the receiving coupler (3) is located between the projectile base and the transmitting coupler (2), while the receiving coupler (3) is located between the projectile nose and the transmitting coupler (2) when the velocity (V0) is measured before the projectile (6) passes through. Correspondingly, in a combination of both measurement methods, at least two receiving couplers (3) can be included, and the transmitting coupler (2) must then be placed between the two receiving couplers (3). The electromagnetic field of the empty weapon or launch barrel (1) is measured without a projectile (6), before the projectile (6), or after the projectile (6), or in combinations. The muzzle velocity (V0) is then determined from the measured signals.

Abstract

The invention relates to a device for measuring the muzzle velocity (V0) of a projectile (6) or similar and to a method that can implement said device. Said device comprises: a weapon barrel or a filling barrel as a wave guide (1), a signal generator (4) that is electrically connected by a signal supply to at least one emission coupler (2) for exciting the weapon or filling barrel (1), and a receiving line for transferring the measured signals of at least one receiving coupler (3) to an evaluation device (5). The distance between the emission coupler (2) and the receiving coupler (3) is variable and can be individually selected according to the selection mode of the wave guide (1). The position of the receiving coupler (3) in relation to the emission coupler (2) depends upon the preferred measuring method. The receiving coupler (3) is disposed between the base of the projectile and the emission coupler (2) if the speed is measured after the projectile (6) has passed, and the receiving coupler (3) is between the tip of the projectile and the emission coupler (2) if the speed is measured (V0) prior to the passing of the projectile (6). When both measuring methods are combined, at least two receiving couplers (3) are integrated and the emission coupler (2) is then placed between both receiving couplers (3). The electromagnetic field of the empty weapon and filling barrel (1) is measured without the projectile (6), in front of the projectile (6) or behind the projectile (6) or in combinations therewith. The muzzle speed (V0) is determined from the measured signals.

Abstract

It is proposed that the weapon barrel or the filing barrel (1) or the muzzle brake (3) be used as a waveguide which, however, is operated at the cut-off frequency of the relevant waveguide mode (TE; TM). The transmission coupler (6, 10.1, 11.1) excites the relevant waveguide mode. An oscillator (4) produces the signal which is then passed to the transmission coupler. The waveguide and the projectile (2) form a system in which the electromagnetic field at the reception coupler (7., 10.2, 11.2) is influenced by the position of the projectile (2). The characteristic rate of change of the strength of the electromagnetic field at the location of the reception coupler (7, 10.2, 11.2), which results from the change in the distance between the projectile (2) and the reception coupler (7, 10.2, 11.2) is measured and is used to determine the muzzle velocity (V0).
