A mounting system for use in mounting products such as audio/visual devices to a surface such as a wall. According to various embodiments, one or more surface mounting structures are configured to attach to a surface such as a wall, while one or more device mounting structures are configured to attach to a device such as a flat panel display. Mating “touch” or “burr” fasteners on at least one surface mounting structure and at least one device mounting structure serve to inhibit the movement or rotation of these components relative to each other when the mounting system is in an assembled position.
A mounting system for providing horizontal adjustment to a device mounted on the mounting system. At least one first articulating arm is rotatably connected to a carriage assembly, where the carriage assembly is slidably engaged with groove guide of a wall plate. The wall plate is mounted to a wall or other similar surface, while at least one second articulating arm is also rotatably connected to the at least one first articulating arm at one end. At the other end, the at least one second articulating arm is operatively connected to a tilt assembly for tilting a device connected to the tilt assembly. The mounting system provides easy horizontal adjustment via sliding the carriage assembly along the groove guide(s) and via rotating the at least first and second articulating arms.
An improved system for securing a display device mounting bracket to a surface mounting bracket in a mounting system. A fastener connects to a movable extension component that is movably engaged with the device mounting bracket. When a device mounting bracket has been correctly positioned relative to the surface mounting bracket, the movable extension component is moved until a portion of the surface mounting bracket is positioned between the device mounting bracket and the movable extension component, thereby preventing the device mounting bracket from moving away from the surface mounting bracket.
A mounting system comprising an incremental angular position and locking system. A tilt bracket is configured to operatively connect to a surface, and an adapter bracket is operatively and movably connected to the tilt bracket, with the adapter bracket being configured to operatively connect to an object such as an audio/video device. A plurality of angular position features are associated with one of the tilt bracket and the adapter bracket, and an angular positioning element is configured to selectively engage at least one of the plurality of angular position features. When the angular positioning element is in engaged with at least one angular position feature, the adapter bracket is impeded from moving relative to the tilt bracket. When the angular positioning element is not in engagement with at least one angular position feature, the adapter bracket is substantially free to move relative to the tilt bracket.

A mounting bracket is configured to attach to the surface, while an adapter bracket is operatively connected to the mounting bracket and is configured to operatively connect to the flat panel display. At least one carrier mechanism operatively connects the mounting bracket and the adapter bracket, the first carrier mechanism positioned with a set of substantially straight guide paths or surfaces to couple the adapter bracket to the mounting bracket. When the flat panel display is operatively connected to the adapter bracket and the mounting bracket is attached to the surface, the flat panel display is generally selectively rotatably positionable about an axis substantially parallel to the surface as a result of the interaction of the first carrier mechanism with the set of substantially straight guide paths or surfaces.
