A distribution database system maintains records of cards sold at the retail locations. The system accounts to each retailer for commissions owed for cards sold by that retailer, and accounts to each card issuer for its cards that are sold at each retail location.
An embodiment of the present invention discloses a financial transaction wall unit workstation. The financial transaction wall unit workstation may be configured to attach to a vertical support and may comprise at least one display face, a transaction interface for communicating between the financial transaction wall unit workstation and a financial services provider, and a consumer display with instructions for using the financial transaction wall unit workstation to transact a financial transaction with the financial services provider. In certain aspects, the financial transaction wall unit workstation may be attached to a vertical support using a flexible attachment mechanism. Attachment of the financial transaction wall unit workstation to a vertical support using flexible attachment mechanisms may provide for vertical movement of the financial transaction wall unit workstation and may allow for accessibility of the financial transaction wall unit workstation by people of different statures and people in wheel chairs.
A method of transferring funds from a sender to a recipient includes receiving, at a transfer location, a transfer request from the sender. The transfer request includes a notification request to notify the sender when the recipient receives the funds. The method also includes sending the transfer request to a host computer system, receiving, at a transfer location, a request from the recipient to receive the funds, receiving a message at the host computer system that the recipient received the funds, and sending from the host computer system a notification to the sender that the recipient received the funds.
The present invention provides systems and methods of processing bill payments. One such method includes receiving a payment request from a customer. The payment request is for a bill associated with a vendor. The vendor may be any number of vendors including utility companies, mortgage lenders, credit card companies, financing companies for the purchase of furniture, appliances, or automobiles, and the like. The method includes verifying, using a point-of-sale device, whether the vendor is included in a group of authorizing vendors. A customer identification and a payment amount associated with the particular bill is received from the customer. The method further includes receiving a payment authorization and providing a receipt to the customer. In this manner, the customer may use a point-of-sale device to make on-time bill payments.
A method of transporting electronic data in a distributed computer network, where the method includes receiving, at a first network node, a first data packet that includes a network event identifier, a user account identifier, and network event data, where the user account identifier points to a location on the first network node where the user account is stored, and the network event data define an operation between a user and a network operator. The method also includes processing the network event parameters with a loyalty algorithm to generate a loyalty value parameter; and calculating an updated account value parameter for the user account using the loyalty value parameter.
A method of disclosing transaction information to customers includes receiving at a host computer system a file comprising processing information. The processing information comprises a plurality of transaction categories and fee information associated with each transaction category. The method also includes receiving a message from a point-of-sale device requesting the fee information associated with at least one particular transaction category relating to a transaction with a customer and sending from the host computer system an electronic message comprising the fee information. The method further comprises displaying transaction information relating to the electronic message at the point-of-sale device and providing the customer the opportunity to cancel the transaction. The transaction may involve an exchange between at least two different forms of value.
