In one example, a firearm sound suppressor includes a housing and an interior member. The interior member is disposed within the housing so as to define a chamber between an exterior surface of the interior member and an interior surface of the housing. The interior member includes a lumen and a plurality of vents extending through the interior member between the lumen and the chamber. The vents are adapted to pass combustion gases from the lumen to the chamber. The firearm sound suppressor also includes a blast deflector disposed between the vents and the interior surface of the housing. The blast deflector is adapted to prevent the combustion gases from impinging directly on the interior surface of the housing. Other embodiments are also contemplated.
In one example, a method of aligning a firearm sound suppressor includes inserting a front portion of a body of an adapter into a socket of the firearm sound suppressor. The method also includes sliding a tab of the adapter into a slot disposed in an interior surface of the socket to rotationally align the firearm sound suppressor relative to a firearm. The method also includes contacting a plug of the adapter against the interior surface in a complimentary engagement. The plug is provided by a frusto-conical external surface of a rear portion of the body. The tab extends from the plug. Other embodiments are also contemplated.
In one example, a firearm sound suppressor includes a housing and an end plate disposed at a front end of the housing and comprising a bore extending therethrough. The bore includes a tapered portion that opens toward a front surface of the end plate. The tapered portion has an included angle in a range of approximately 10 degrees to approximately 25 degrees. The bore is adapted to pass a first round and first associated gases to reduce a size of a first muzzle flash caused by a firing of the first round by a firearm when the firearm sound suppressor is substantially at thermal equilibrium with a surrounding environment. Other embodiments are also contemplated.
In one example, a firearm sound suppressor includes a housing including a front end and a rear end. The rear end includes a flange that partially encloses the rear end and defines a rear aperture. The firearm sound suppressor also includes a back end member disposed substantially within the rear end of the housing and including a rear surface disposed in abutment with an inner surface of the flange to prevent the back end member from passing through the rear aperture. Other embodiments are also contemplated.
A live-fire simulation system uses a position sensitive detector (PSD) in a weapon-mounted sensor to intercept emitted light from target emitters spatially distributed about a target. Each target emitter is modulated with a unique frequency. The system can thus not only determine the points of interception on the PSD but also determine which emitter caused which interception by using a frequency analysis.

Various techniques are provided for implementing a lighting device variable control using a variable inductor. In various examples, the variable control may be implemented with a plurality of continuous or stepped settings. The variable control may be adjusted by a user-actuated movement of a part of the lighting device, such as the depression of a tail cap or another appropriate physical control to change the inductance of the variable inductor. An oscillating signal may be induced in a variable inductor circuit that includes the variable inductor. The oscillating signal may exhibit characteristics, such as frequency, that change with the inductance of the variable inductor. Such characteristics may be measured to determine a setting of the variable control and which may be used to adjust the brightness or other attributes of the lighting device.
Various techniques are provided for programming lighting devices. In one example, a lighting device includes a light emitting diode (LED). The lighting device also includes a microcontroller configured to receive a programming signal generated by the LED in response to illumination of the LED with an externally-supplied light signal modulated with the programming signal.
In one embodiment, a blank safety device is provided that includes: a body defining a cylindrical bore having a closed distal end, the body also defining an proximally extending internal cavity in communication with the cylindrical bore; a bullet plug received within the cylindrical bore, the bullet plug being configured to distally displace within the cylindrical bore towards the closed distal end in response to the impact of a fired bullet; and a back section received within the internal cavity in the body, the back section defining an internal chamber that is sealed with respect to a proximal bore for receiving a firearm attachment.
F41A 21/26 - Tubes d'arme; Accessoires de bouches de canon; Montage des tubes d'arme spécialement adaptés pour renforcer le recul, p.ex. pour l'entraînement
Various lighting devices and related methods are provided. In one example, a lighting device includes a main member including a central axis. The lighting device also includes a bezel surrounding at least a portion of the main member and adapted to be concentrically rotated about the central axis. The lighting device also includes a lens asymmetrically disposed in the bezel and adapted to rotate with the bezel. The lens includes a light inlet offset from the central axis. The lighting device also includes a plurality of light sources fixed relative to the main member. Rotation of the bezel relative to the main member causes the light inlet to rotate through an arc about the central axis to selectively align different ones of the light sources with the light inlet.

Various gun sights for firearms and related methods of use are provided. In one embodiment, the sight includes an apparatus adapted to be mounted at a rear end of a firearm and arranged to occlude one eye of a user of the firearm and to generate an illuminated dot that is disposed such that it is generally centered on the longitudinal axis of the barrel of the firearm. The gun sight produces a collimated beam of light that creates an image of an illuminated dot by either a refractive method or a reflective method. In use, a dominant eye of the user is occluded by the sight and the other eye of the user is focused on the target. The user then adjusts the position of the gun relative to the target such that the user perceives the illuminated dot of the sight to be positioned on the target.
In one example, an accessory mount for a gun, such as a machine gun, can include a base configured for attachment of the accessory mount to the gun, a holding mechanism for fixing the position of the base in relation to the gun, and an elongated accessory mounting arm coupled to the base and extending forwardly therefrom, the arm comprising a beam having a vertical web with at least one flange disposed at an upper and/or a lower end thereof.
