In a first aspect, the present invention provides a motor, fan and filter arrangement for a vacuum cleaner, comprising: a motor (10); a fan (20) connected to an output shaft (12) of the motor and having an axial intake; and a filter (30, 230, 330); wherein the fan (20) is arranged with its axial intake facing the motor (10); and the motor (10) is housed within the filter (30, 230, 330). Such an arrangement makes much more efficient use of space than a conventional arrangement and allows the motor to be positioned within the filter in a reversed direction in comparison to conventional arrangements, so that clear air from the filter can be drawn over the motor before encountering the fan. This also has the beneficial side-effect of cooling the motor with the filtered air. An impact power tool includes a transmission output shaft, a rotary impact assembly with a cam shaft, hammer, and anvil, and a tool output shaft rotatable with the anvil. A coupler removably couples the cam shaft to the transmission output shaft. When torque on the tool output shaft is less than or equal to a first threshold, the transmission output shaft, cam shaft, hammer, and anvil rotate together to transmit torque to the tool output shaft. When torque on the tool output shaft is above the first threshold, the hammer moves along the cam shaft away from the anvil by a first distance and applies rotary impacts to the anvil. When the hammer moves along the cam shaft away from the anvil by a second distance greater than the first distance, the coupler decouples the transmission output shaft from the cam shaft, interrupting torque transmission to the tool output shaft.

FASTENING TOOL HAVING HOME POSITION SENSING SYSTEM
A fastening tool using Hall sensor technology as a contactless solution to home position sensing of a drive shaft. In this manner, an omnipolar switch Hall effect sensor PCB assembly can be placed in a fastening tool housing or on a driving mechanism of the tool to detect a magnet that is attached to a drive shaft. The drive shaft is attached to an eccentric member that can control the height or position of a compression piston. On the piston return cycle, the piston must stop within a predetermined range from bottom dead center in order to be in the home position. Through the connection with the eccentric member, the drive shaft carrying the magnet also returns to its home position. In the drive shaft home position, the magnet is within the Hall effect sensor sensing zone. As a result, the Hall effect sensor can detect the magnetic flux and send a corresponding signal to the controller.
