Abstract

A security fastener assembly is provided with a cap having a decorative bearing surface and a lower retention portion. Abstract

A tool die and additive manufacturing method of forming a cold-working tool die is provided. The cold-working tool surface may be a thread-rolling surface having a thread profile with a plurality of teeth spaced apart in the width direction and extending in the longitudinal direction, each of the teeth having a tooth height in a height direction and the surface has a tool feature having a complex shape. An iron-based alloy is supplied in particle form to form the tool die. The method includes depositing a plurality of layers of the alloy to form the die body with layer-by-layer construction to form a cold-working tool surface. Each layer is deposited in a plane transverse to the cold-working tool surface.

A wheel fastener and method of forming a wheel fastener is provided. The wheel fastener has a fastener body comprising a threaded portion and an upper portion opposite the threaded portion. A load-bearing surface of the fastener body is shaped to cooperate with a fastener seat. A cap is decoupled from the fastener body and has coating covering a cap base material to define a decorative appearance surface. The cap is crimped to the upper portion at a crimp area to retain the cap on the fastener body and define a wrenching surface. The cap does not cover the load bearing surface. The coating the cap comprises applying a nickel strike layer and a black chrome passivation layer to define a black appearance surface.

A fastener body has a mating attachment portion formed at a first end along which the cap is secured and a keyed security feature formed adjacent the mating attachment portion. The threaded portion of the fastener body is installed with rotation in a first direction. Abstract

A joint assembly comprising a seal provided with a first retaining surface and a second retaining surface, a ball stud provided with a ball portion and a socket, wherein the socket is provided with a seal acceptor and a ball cooperating surface, wherein the ball portion of the ball stud is within the ball cooperating surface and a portion of the seal is within the seal acceptor, and a first and a second constricting element, wherein the first constricting element is held in place by the first retaining surface on the seal and the second constricting element is held in place by the second retaining surface on the seal.
