Abstract

A method of controlling a state of charge (SOC) of a battery is provided. The method comprises defining a first SOC threshold of the battery, the first SOC threshold being greater than zero and defining a second SOC threshold of the battery, the second SOC threshold being less than a highest charge capacity of the battery. The first and second SOC thresholds define a battery protection charge range of the battery based on a predetermined battery protection charge range associated with the battery. The method also comprises setting a first configurable SOC threshold of the battery, the first configurable SOC threshold being at least the first SOC threshold; and setting a second configurable SOC threshold of the battery, the second configurable SOC threshold being no greater than the second SOC threshold and greater than the first configurable SOC threshold. A range between the first and second configurable SOC thresholds is defined by a configurable capacity associated with the battery. During charging and/or discharging of the battery, the SOC of the battery is controlled based on the first and second configurable SOC thresholds. The configurable capacity of the battery and the first and second configurable SOC thresholds are updatable upon receiving an update to the configurable capacity of the battery.

A Battery Management System (BMS) configured to control a discharge current of a battery is provided. The BMS is configured to calculate a discharge energy of the battery for a timestep based on the discharge current and the duration of the timestep, and to calculate an accumulated discharge energy of the battery based on an accumulated discharge energy calculated for a preceding timestep and the discharge energy for the timestep. In a fuel injector, the temperature differential between a distributor plate, through which relatively cool fuel passes, and the manifold to which the distributor plate is bonded causes stresses and strains that can reduce the durability and longevity of the fuel injector. Abstract

Problem: In a hydraulic control system including a prime motor, a plurality of variable-capacity hydraulic pumps driven by the prime motor, and a plurality of hydraulic actuators driving the hydraulic pumps as a hydraulic source, merging of the discharged oil of the hydraulic pump is reduced to reduce the decrease in efficiency and operability caused by the merging. Solution: A controller (10) is provided to control the pump capacity of the hydraulic pumps (P1, P2) and the rotational speed of the prime motor (M), and the controller (10) is provided with a reference pump flow rate setting unit (61) that sets a reference pump flow rate, a target pump flow rate setting unit (64) that sets a target pump flow rate of each hydraulic pump (P1, P2) for each hydraulic pump according to operation of a manipulator, and a pump flow rate control unit (65) that, when the target pump flow rate of any hydraulic pumps (P1, P2) exceeds the reference pump flow rate, maximizes the pump capacity of the hydraulic pump (P1, P2), and increases the rotational speed of the prime motor (M), thereby increasing the pump flow rate to be greater than the reference pump flow rate.

During operation of a machine, an understanding of terrain features is critical. Accordingly, disclosed embodiments augment a video stream, captured by a camera mounted on the machine, with terrain information. In particular, an overlay is generated on at least one image frame. The overlay, which may comprise one or more semi-transparent bands, may cyclically recede from a foreground to a background of the image frame(s), cyclically advance from a background to a foreground of the image frame(s), or cyclically move horizontally across the image frame(s). The overlay may be colorized to illustrate the height of the terrain underneath the overlay.
