Abstract

A sewing machine includes a feed amount setting part and a feed amount adjustment part. In the feed amount setting part, a forward feed amount for one stitch of forward stitching is set. In the feed amount adjustment part, the forward feed amount which is set by the feed amount setting part is compared with the maximum backward feed amount for one stitch of reverse stitching which is determined by a feed mechanism. Then, in the feed amount adjustment part, when the forward feed amount is larger than the maximum backward feed amount, the total amount of backward feed amounts for plural stitches of backward stitching is adjusted so as to coincide with the total amount of the forward feed amounts for one stitch or more of forward stitching.

Abstract

An overlock sewing machine includes an operating shaft that is slidable between first and second positions, and configured such that interlock switching and position switching mechanisms are operated when it is turned. The interlock switching mechanism includes a rotor that is rotatable together with the operating shaft as a single unit, an interlock switching member, and a first engagement target portion formed in the rotor. In the interlock state, setting the operating shaft to the first position engages an engagement portion of the interlock switching member with the first engagement target portion, which restricts operating shaft rotation. Sliding the operating shaft to the second position releases the engagement state between the engagement and first engagement target portions, enabling rotation of the operating shaft.

Abstract

With a overlock sewing machine, when a switching mechanism is switched to a threading-enabled state, and a looper cover is closed, the looper cover is slid toward one side in the hinge shaft axial direction so as to operate a detection lever. In the non-operating state, the detection lever is set to an initial position where it does not press an operation protrusion of a switch. When a side cover is closed, and the detection lever is operated, the operation lever is set to an operation-enabled position where it presses the operation protrusion. When the operation lever is operated, and the side cover is opened, the detection lever is set by passing through the operation-enabled to the operation-disabled position where it does not press the operation protrusion.

Abstract

A sewing-machine operating program is installed in a terminal device of a user. A specifying information acquiring step causes a short-distance information acquiring unit to acquire specifying information recorded on a sewing-machine main unit. In the distance measuring step, an apart distance is calculated from a detection result of a movement detecting sensor with a position where the specifying information is acquired being as an initial position. In the distance comparing step, for a remote operation to the sewing-machine main unit, the apart distance and a prescribed distance are compared. In the function restricting step, when the apart distance is within the prescribed distance, an operation command is transmitted to the sewing-machine main unit via a wireless communication device, and when the apart distance exceeds the prescribed distance, the operation command is not transmitted to the sewing-machine main unit.

Abstract

An embroidery sewing machine calculates the number of designs to be used for sewing for a length that is closest to a desired sewing length, based on the desired sewing length and information regarding the designs. The embroidery sewing machine calculates the sewing length based on the calculated number of designs and the information regarding the designs. Furthermore, the embroidery sewing machine adjusts the length of each design such that the calculated sewing length matches the desired sewing length, and converts the adjusted data of the designs into embroidery data. This enables sewing such that the sewing start and end points match each other or junction matching is secured, even in a case of sewing in the form of various kinds of combinations of curves and lines or the like. In addition, this provides an embroidery sewing machine that is capable of executing sewing with an improved appearance.

Abstract

A sewing machine includes an embroidery data memory unit, a suspension timing selecting unit, and a suspension control unit. The embroidery data memory unit stores embroidery data, and accepts a planned suspension timing, a sewing suspending instruction, and a sewing resuming instruction. The suspension timing selecting unit selects a discontinuous operation that breaks the continuity of seams within the predetermined range before and after the planned suspension timing from the embroidery data. The suspension control unit maintains the deactivation of a sewing-machine motor until the suspending instruction or the resuming instruction is input when the selected discontinuous operation by the suspension timing selecting unit comes during the sewing of embroidery pattern.

Abstract

A loading order according to which function modules are to be loaded from a storage unit is determined based on a predicted use situation of a user. The function modules are loaded according to the loading order thus determined. Subsequently, the function modules thus loaded are started up according to a start-up instruction. With such an arrangement, by determining the loading order based on a prediction of the user's desired function, such an arrangement enables a reduction in the length of a loading time that bothers the user.

Abstract

When marks all align with a mark alignment region in an image, an image is acquired for an embroidery frame and embroidery design sewn to a portion of a cloth mounted on the frame. Image analysis is performed based on correspondence between acquired information for the embroidery frame and for the marks. The embroidery region of the embroidery frame is determined based on analysis results. Acquired images of the cloth having the embroidery design portion and an embroidery design to be sewn to it are displayed. The embroidery design image to be sewn is edited to connect it to the image of the embroidery design already sewn to the portion in the displayed image. This prevents the occurrence of overlapping or gaps between embroidery design units even if accumulated shrinkage occurs in sewing, or slight alignment errors occur in position or rotation when cloth is mounted on the embroidery frame.

Abstract

A sewing data generating unit acquires embroidery frame information and a mark alignment region displayed on a display unit for guiding multiple marks that define an embroidery region of the embroidery frame. When the marks are all positioned within the mark alignment region displayed on the display unit, the sewing data generating apparatus acquires an image of the embroidery frame and a sewing target mounted on a base cloth mounted on the embroidery frame. The sewing data generating apparatus performs image analysis based on a correspondence between the acquired information with respect to the embroidery frame and the marks in the acquired image, so as to determine the embroidery region of the embroidery frame. The sewing data generating apparatus generates outline data for the sewing target based on the determined embroidery region. This allows an applique to be sewn at an accurate position without a need to prepare dedicated data.

Abstract

Information with respect to an embroidery frame and information with respect to a mark alignment region are acquired. The mark alignment region is displayed for guiding multiple marks that are provided to an embroidery frame in order to define an embroidery region in the embroidery frame. When the multiple marks thus displayed are all positioned within the mark alignment region, an image of the embroidery region is acquired. Image analysis is performed based on the information with respect to the embroidery frame thus acquired and the information with respect to the multiple corresponding marks within the acquired image. Subsequently, the embroidery region within the embroidery frame is determined based on the analysis result. This allows the embroidery region to be detected with high precision in a simple manner.

Abstract

With an embroidery design connecting data generating apparatus, an image acquisition unit acquires an image of an embroidery frame mounting a cloth having a portion where an embroidery design has been sewn. A display unit displays the image of the cloth having such an embroidery-sewn portion acquired by the image acquisition unit and an image of an embroidery design to be sewn to the cloth. An embroidery design data editing unit edits the embroidery design image such that it is connected with the already-sewn embroidery design in a state in which the image of the cloth having the embroidery-sewn portion is displayed on the display unit. Such an arrangement prevents the occurrence of overlapping or gaps after embroidery designs are sewn even if accumulated shrinkage occurs in the sewing operation, or slight alignment errors occur in position or rotation when the cloth is mounted on the embroidery frame.

Abstract

A sewing machine moves a needle up and down relative to a cloth based on drive force from a rotating upper shaft to form a stitch. A first output generating unit reciprocates a first output point along an output axis so as to convert the rotational motion of the upper shaft into a linear motion. An assist rod that serves as a connection portion links the first output point with a needle bar. A needle-bar swing unit swings the needle bar. An output shaft moving unit moves a guide that is the output axis in a cloth feeding direction in accordance with the motion of the needle-bar swing unit. The assist rod changes the inclination in accordance with the movement of the output axis, and reciprocates the needle bar in substantially parallel with the output axis while maintaining the inclination.

Abstract

A sewing machine moves a presser foot up and down through a presser-bar lifting lever to depress a cloth. The lever is moved down by a stepping motor at a constant move-down amount. A compression spring is present between the stepping motor and the presser foot. The compression spring is compressed by some of the constant move-down amount of the lever, and applies, to the presser foot, pushing force canceling repulsive force from the depressed cloth. The move-down amount of the presser foot is detected by an encoder, and a thickness of the cloth is calculated by a cloth-thickness calculator. The cloth-thickness calculator performs calculation based on the move-down amounts at two timings in a time period at which the presser foot depresses the cloth and attempts to further move down.

Abstract

Highly accurate press working is performed while responding to mechanical alteration due to thermal expansion. Prior to a series of processing to a workpiece, a servomotor control unit moves a slide to a stop position, and a sensing value detecting unit detects a sensing value of a sensing element at the stop position of the slide, and stores the detected sensing value. Then, in the series of processing, the sensing value detecting unit detects a sensing value of the sensing element at the stop position of the slide, and stores the detected sensing value in the processing sensing value storing unit. A correction value calculating unit calculates a correction value based on the two store values, and a servomotor control unit controls the servomotor based on the detected slide position, the slide position that has been set, and the correction value calculated by the correction value calculating unit.

Abstract

A presser foot has a rod pin and is received by an engagement groove provided with a presser holder. By measuring the resistance value of the rod pin, the rod pin is identified. Terminals are provided with the engagement groove, which contact the rod pin for measuring the resistance. The terminals are connected to a circuit that connects to a circuit of a presser bar. A receiving groove is formed at the presser holder, an inserting part is formed at the lower end of the presser bar, and the presser holder is connected to the presser bar by setting the inserting part in the receiving groove and fixing it. The terminals and the circuit are provided with the inserting part connecting to the electrical resistance measuring apparatus where the resistance of the rod pin is measured, then determination apparatus identifies the rod pin and a display informs the result.

Abstract

In an overlock sewing machine, a main shaft fixing operating shaft is provided with a differentiation ring that can be swung in a predetermined range such that, when the rotation of a main shaft is to be enabled, it is set to an enable state in a stationary state, and when the rotation of the main shaft is disabled, it is swung and shifted from the enable position. Furthermore, a looper cover open/closed detection configuration is configured by modifying a part of a typical known configuration. Such an arrangement provides an overlock sewing machine having a simple configuration that requires only a single micro switch to detect the switching between the threading mode and the sewing mode and to detect the open/closed state of the looper cover.

Abstract

A robot repeats successive works for each process point. A controller stores, in a storage, control data that arrays therein structural point blocks each bundling the successive works for each process point. The structural point block arrays therein point statements 8 indicating details of the successive works. A debugger executes step-over which sequentially executes the control data in a unit of structural point block, and which aborts the execution.
