Abstract

An electronic device and method for generation of reflectance maps for relightable 3D models is disclosed. The electronic device acquires multi-view image data that includes a set of images of an object and generates a 3D mesh of the object based on the multi-view image data. The electronic device obtains a set of motion-corrected images based on a minimization of a rigid motion associated with the object between images of the set of images and generates texture maps in a UV space based on the set of motion-corrected images and the 3D mesh. The electronic device obtains specular and diffuse reflectance maps based on a separation of specular and diffuse reflectance components from the texture maps. and obtains a relightable 3D model of the object based on the specular and diffuse reflectance maps.

Abstract

The achromatic region extraction unit calculates achromatic determination information for each color component of the color polarized image using the polarization information acquired from the color polarized image, and extracts a region satisfying a condition that the achromatic determination information is achromatic as an achromatic region. The gain setting unit sets the white balance gain used in the white balance adjustment of the color polarized image on the basis of the white balance gain with which the achromatic region extracted by the achromatic region extraction unit becomes achromatic. For example, the gain setting unit sets the white balance gain for the entire color polarized image on the basis of the white balance gain of the achromatic region, or sets the white balance gain of a region different from the achromatic region on the basis of the white balance gains of a plurality of achromatic regions. The white balance adjustment can be easily performed on the basis of the polarization information.

Abstract

A solid-state image pickup device includes a plurality of pixels, a pixel connection section, and a pixel reset section. The plurality of pixels each include a photoelectric conversion section that generates a charge according to irradiated light, a charge holding section that holds the generated charge, and a signal generation section that generates as an image signal a signal according to the held charge. The pixel connection section conducts between charge holding sections of the plurality of pixels and thereby allows each of the charge holding sections of the plurality of pixels to hold the charge that has been generated by the photoelectric conversion section of one pixel of the plurality of pixels. The pixel reset section discharges and resets the charge of the respective charge holding sections of the plurality of pixels when the pixel connection section conducts between the respective charge holding sections of the plurality of pixels.

The generation of a texture map using orthographic projections is performed in a fast and efficient manner. A method to generate texture maps taking significantly less time and also allowing maps to exploit the correlation between content of different frames in time is described herein. The texture mapping is able to be used for automatic generation of volumetric content or for more efficient compression of dynamic meshes. The texture map generation described herein includes ways to generate a texture atlas using orthographic projections. A novel stretch metric for orthographic projections is described, and a merging algorithm is devised to optimally cluster triangles into a single patch. Additionally, packing techniques are able to be used for mesh patches that try to optimize size and temporal stability.

Abstract

The present disclosure relates to an image processing apparatus, an image processing method, and a program capable of realizing highly accurate image recognition processing while taking privacy into consideration with a simple configuration. A mask of a lensless camera is convoluted with a weight of a DNN first layer used in image recognition processing using a DNN, and a reconstructed image becomes a processing result of the DNN first layer on the basis of a captured image captured by an image sensor. Accordingly, the restored image becomes the processing result of the DNN first layer and becomes an image difficult for a person to visually recognize as a scene or an object, making it possible to protect the privacy of the image. The present disclosure can be applied to an image recognition apparatus using a lensless camera.

Abstract

A system and method for artificial intelligence (AI) based skill tracking and non-fungible token (NFT) based skill/behavior representation are provided. The system acquires information associated with a non-tangible asset of a user in an online environment, apply an artificial intelligence (AI) model on the acquired information, wherein the AI model is trained to evaluate the non-tangible asset and track a progress of acquisition of the non-tangible asset in the online environment. The system determines a proficiency level of a plurality of proficiency levels of the non-tangible asset of the user based on the application of the AI model on the acquired information. The system assigns, based on the determined proficiency level of the non-tangible asset of the user, a value to a digital token associated with the user. The digital token may include a non-transferable part unique to the user and a fungible part that may be exchangeable across platforms.
