An integrated security system that includes a security alarm reporting system (SARS) that is resilient to equipment failure and, as such, provides a comprehensive solution to the problem of an intruder attempting to disable an alarm reporting system. The integrated security system includes a gateway/touchscreen coupled to a security system. The gateway/touchscreen and the security system are at a first location and manage a variety of security and network devices at the first location. A security server at a second location is coupled to the security system and receives a first signal from the security system. A heartbeat signal is initiated that monitors health of the security system. The heartbeat signal may be initiated in response to the first signal. The security server detects a failure of the heartbeat signal and generates a report and sends the report to a central monitoring station. The report is an electronic report that indicates failure of the security system.

Systems and methods include a voltage transformer connected to a power source. The voltage transformer transforms a high voltage of the power source to a first low voltage signal. Regulators are connected to the voltage transformer, and the regulators receive the first low voltage signal from the voltage transformer and convert the first low voltage signal to a second low voltage signal. A remote device is connected to each of the regulators. The remote device is powered by the second low voltage signal from the regulator to which it is connected.
A modular touchscreen platform enables dynamic reconfiguration of the touchscreen for different functions. The touchscreen platform includes the touchscreen display and one or more removeable and replaceable modules that each enable different functions in the touchscreen platform. The modules provide different functionality through the touchscreen depending on needs of the user. The touchscreen platform can be used as an in-home consumer touchscreen with uses including home management, energy management, security, surveillance, health monitoring, elder care and other consumer applications.

INTEGRATED SECURITY SYSTEM WITH PARALLEL PROCESSING ARCHITECTURE
An integrated security system that includes a security coprocessor coupled to a conventional security system panel and an interactive security system. The integrated security system enables conventional security system features as well as the consumer- oriented interactive features and functions of an interactive security system without sacrificing reliability or the significant burden and cost associated with frequent software updates associated with conventional security systems. The integrated security system also minimizes or eliminates the need for new battery backup circuitry or larger batteries.

BATTERY-BACKED POWER INTERFACE TRANSFORMER FOR LOW-POWER DEVICES
A power interface enables a low-power device to be powered from an alternating current (AC) wall receptacle or light socket with automatic backup battery charging. The power interface of an embodiment comprises a transformer module that receives an input signal. The device includes a battery module coupled to the transformer module, and the battery module includes battery charging circuitry coupled to a battery. The device comprises an output controller coupled to the transformer module and the battery module. The output controller includes detector circuitry that detects a state of the input signal. The output controller automatically controls coupling of one of a transformer module output and a battery module output to a device output according to the state of the input signal.
