Abstract

A suppressor assembly for a firearm is disclosed herein. The firearm may include a barrel, a bore, and a muzzle end. The suppressor assembly may include a gas block mount positioned about the barrel. The suppressor assembly also may include an outer tube comprising a first end and a second end. The first end of the outer tube may be configured to be attached to the gas block mount, and the second end of the outer tube may be configured to extend beyond the muzzle end of the firearm. Moreover, the suppressor assembly may include a baffle comprising a first end and a second end. The second end of the baffle may be configured to be attached to and positioned within the second end of the outer tube.

Abstract

A handguard assembly (100) for a firearm includes a stationary handguard portion (104), a movable handguard portion (102), a catch (108), and a latch mechanism (114). The catch is positioned on an interior of the handguard assembly, and the latch mechanism is position on an exterior of the handguard assembly. Both the catch and the latch mechanism maintain the movable handguard portion in a closed position. A STANAG mount adapter assembly (300) includes a body portion (302), two flange portions (306), and an alignment mechanism (310). The flange portions are positioned on opposite lateral sides of the body portion and are configured to engage a STANAG mount (200), while the alignment adjustment mechanism is configured to adjust the lateral alignment of the body portion with reference to the STANAG mount. The STANAG mount adapter assembly (300) can be used together with the handguard assembly (100) to create an elongated rail platform (410) on an SA80 rifle.

Abstract

Embodiments of the invention can include systems and methods for installing a hand guard on a firearm. In embodiments, a method of installing a hand guard on a firearm can be provided. The firearm includes a barrel, a barrel nut, and a delta ring. The delta ring is retracted away from the barrel nut. A number of hand guard members are positioned about the barrel. An annular groove associated with each hand guard member is mated with a portion of a flange of the barrel nut. The flange is secured within the annular groove of at least one hand guard member. The delta ring is advanced over a portion of some or all the hand guard members.
