Abstract

A whistling spinning grenade has a body defining a body axis and having a sidewall and a hollow interior, the body interior containing a teargas generation component and an ignition component, the body sidewall defining a plurality of passages, each passage communicating from the interior of the body to an exhaust aperture, each exhaust aperture penetrating the body sidewall and defining an exhaust aperture axis, and each exhaust aperture axis being angularly offset from a radius connecting the passage to the body axis, such that it has a tangential directional component with respect to the sidewall, and wherein rotation of the grenade about the body axis is propelled by the expulsion of exhaust gas through the exhaust apertures. The teargas generation component may be proximate the ignition component such that combustion of the ignition component ignites the teargas generation component. The passages and exhaust apertures may be all coplanar.

Abstract

A universal tube launched munitions system has a launcher base having an array of a plurality of initiator stations, first and second cassettes each having a mounting facility operable for releasable connection to the launcher base, each of the cassettes having a plurality of barrels, the barrels of the first cassette been axially registered with the first quantity of the initiator stations, and the barrels of the second cassette been axially registered with a different second quantity of the initiator stations. The barrels of the first cassette may be axially registered with all of the initiator stations. The barrels of the second cassette may be axially registered with a subset of the initiator stations the barrels of the first cassette are axially registered with. The barrels of the first cassette may have a different diameter than the barrels of the second cassette.

Abstract

Multiple report stun grenades have an elongated body defining a body axis and having a sidewall and opposed top and bottom end faces, the body including a plurality of delay chambers each containing a different delay feature, the body having a plurality of flash charge chambers each containing a quantity of flash charge material, the body defining a plurality of ignition passages, each ignition passage communicating from a respective flash charge chamber to an associated delay chamber, each flash charge chamber having at least one exhaust aperture, and each of the exhaust apertures penetrating at least one of the top and bottom end faces. Each of the flash charge chambers may have a first exhaust aperture penetrating the top end face, and a second exhaust aperture penetrating the bottom end face. Each of the flash charge chambers may be an elongated bore parallel to the body axis.

Abstract

A safety shield for double-lock leg cuffs having a first lock for disengaging or releasing the leglets after the same have been applied to the legs of a prisoner, and a second lock for fixing the preset contracted position of the leglets on the prisoner's legs. The box-like shield comprises access slots in a wall thereof through which a portion of the associated leg cuff key may be inserted to actuate the second lock without opening the shield or revealing the first lock or removing the shield from the leg cuffs. This arrangement permits the shields to be secured over the leg cuffs prior to application to a prisoner and thereby enhances the officer's safety. The safety shield is also suitable for use with handcuffs including a pair of wristlets pivotally and rotatably connected by either an enlarged ring portion or a short link chain.

Abstract

Pick-resistant handcuffs having two fixed, arc-shaped hooks and one pivotable, arc-shaped hook. The two fixed ring hooks engage each other to form an accommodation chamber for receiving the pivoting hook penetrating into an open side of the accommodation chamber. Central channels are cut in the teeth outer periphery and accommodate a stop projecting part between the lateral edges of the teeth that inhibits unlocking the stop members of the ratchet attached to the two fixed hooks. Elastic members biased toward the teeth are disposed on either side of the stop projecting part act independently to provide ratchet stops to each tooth edge, and the stop projecting portion blocks insertion of a pick and unlock both of the two ratchets simultaneously.
