The present disclosure provides high bulk tissue products, as well as an apparatus and methods for manufacturing the same. The tissue products provided herein not only have high bulk, but they also have improved surface smoothness, particularly compared to tissue products of similar basis weights.
It has now been discovered that the ratio of the wet tensile strength to the dry tensile strength of a tissue web, and more particularly a creped tissue web, can meet or exceed satisfactory levels without the excess use of a wet strength resin. For example, by treating the tissue making furnish with less than about 3 kilograms of wet strength resin per ton of furnish, forming the tissue web, and then creping the tissue web with a creping composition comprising a non-fibrous olefin polymer and a dispersing agent, a tissue web having a CD Wet/Dry ratio greater than about 0.30 may be produced. This discovery provides the flexibility to produce a tissue product with increased wet strength while reducing the add-on of wet strength agent.
A dispersible moist wipe generally comprises a nonwoven tissue web having regenerated fibers in an amount of about 10 to about 30 percent by weight and natural fibers in an amount of about 70 to about 90 percent by weight. The regenerated fibers and the natural fibers are hydroentangled such that the web has a geometric mean tensile strength of at least 150 grams per inch and a slosh-box break-up time of less than 15 minutes.
The present disclosure relates to spirally-wound, single or multi-ply creped tissue webs. The tissue webs and tissue products have unique combinations of properties, including improved smoothness and bulk, while still maintaining strength, roll bulk, and firmness when converted into rolled tissue products. The present disclosure relates to a creped, single ply tissue web having a single wire probe mean deviation of MIU (MMD) of less than about 0.040, a single wire probe mean deviation of surface thickness (SMD) of less than 3 microns, and a sheet bulk of from about 12 to about 15 cc/g. The present disclosure also relates to a creped, multi-ply tissue web having a single wire probe mean deviation of MUI (MMD) of less than about 0.035, a single wire probe mean deviation of surface thickness (SMD) of less than 3.5 microns, and a sheet bulk of from about 10 to about 12 cc/g.
Cyclodextrin compositions, including a hydrophobic carrier and a cyclodextrin complex, are formed and disposed on a variety of substrates using conditions that avoid substantial loss of the complexed compound from the cyclodextrin complex, even where the complexed compound is a gas a common ambient temperatures (e.g. 20°C). Flexographic printing is particularly useful for disposing the cyclodextrin compositions on one or more substrates. Substrates treated with the cyclodextrin complexes are useful for subsequent release of the complexed compound.
The present disclosure provides high bulk tissue products, as well as an apparatus and methods for manufacturing the same. The tissue products provided herein not only have high bulk, but they also have improved surface smoothness, particularly compared to tissue products of similar basis weights.
The present disclosure provides a textured tissue product using a through-air drying fabric, which has a three-dimensional design element that results in a tissue product having high surface smoothness, low stiffness and improved bulk. The present disclosure further provides an apparatus and methods for manufacturing the tissue product. The present disclosure thus addresses the need for tissue rolls having a high bulk as well as a good firmness. The tissue disclosed in the present disclosure can include a single-ply tissue web formed on a through-air drying fabric having a three-dimensional pattern disposed thereon and comprising a plurality of elevations and a plurality of landing areas between the elevations. The elevations can have a height between 0.7 mm and 1.4 mm, and the tissue web can have a sheet bulk greater than 15 cc/g and a Surface Smoothness S90 value from 70 to 105 µm.
The present disclosure is directed to creped tissue webs and products produced therefrom which are soft and strong. The creped tissue product is a multi-ply tissue product having at least one creped tissue ply having a first and a second side. A water soluble creping composition is disposed on at least the first or the second side. The tissue product has a basis weight of 20 gsm or more, a GMT of 600 g/3" or more, and a TS7 value from 4.0 to 8.0 dB V2 rms.
A hands-free towel dispenser (10) includes a housing (16) having an internal volume that may contain at least one roll of towel material. Within the dispenser (10) a dispensing mechanism is in communication with a sensor system which scans for the presence of a user at a first pulse rate and initiates a dispense cycle upon sensing a user. The sensor system has at least one sensor (80) and is in electrical communication with a control circuit which is configured to determine the time that has elapsed from the last dispense cycle and compare the elapsed time with a preset value. If the elapsed time is greater than the preset value, the control circuit configures the sensor system to scan for the presence of a user at a second pulse rate. Upon detecting a user, the control circuit initiates a dispense cycle and sets the sensor system to scan for the presence of a user at the first pulse rate.
The present invention provides a dispenser (10) for folded sheets having an overfill prevention device (60), which effectively prevents the dispenser from being overfilled with folded sheet material. The overfill prevention device comprises a pivotally connected bracket (62) adapted to contact a stack of folded sheets (12) and a locking element (72) which is released when the cover (40) of the dispenser is closed.
The disclosure provides tissue webs, and products incorporating the same, where the webs comprise wood and bamboo fibers. More specifically the disclosure provides soft and durable through-air dried tissue webs comprising at least about 10 percent bamboo fiber by weight of the web. In the through-air dried tissue webs of the present disclosure, bamboo typically replaces high average fiber length wood fibers, which increases the bulk of the through-air dried web without negatively effecting softness or durability.
The present disclosure relates generally to a tissue product having a creping composition disposed onto at least one surface thereof to increase the softness of the article, while retaining or improving manufacturing efficiency. The tissue products also have a sizing agent that increases the Wet Out time, without negatively impacting softness or machine runability. Preferably the creping composition comprises a cationic component and a film forming component, both of which are preferably water soluble. The cationic component carries a cationic charge that is capable of forming ionic bonds with the negatively charged fibers of the tissue web, thus providing a retention mechanism by which the creping composition is retained on the sheet. The overall retention of the creping composition on the sheet reduces the concentration of the composition in the machine process water, improving machine operability and runability.
A dispersible wet wipe constructed of at two layers is disclosed. The first outer layer of the wipe substrate may have a density of between about 0.5 and 2.0 grams per cubic centimeter. The second outer layer may have a density of between about 0.05 and 0.15 grams per cubic centimeter. A triggerable binder composition binds said web substrate together. The wet wipe also includes a wetting composition including at least 0.3 percent of an insolubilizing agent.

Dry products, and particularly dry tissue substrates, including a blend of conventional papermaking fibers and microalgae are disclosed herein. Use of a cationic retention aid in the dry tissue substrates helps to provide a tissue sheet retaining the microalgae without being detrimental to tissue properties such as caliper, bulk, air permeability, slough and absorbent capacity. Additionally, use of a flocculating agent may agglomerate the microalgae and make it easier to retain the microalgae within the tissue sheet.

ANTI-VIRAL TISSUE PRODUCT WITH VISUAL EFFICACY INDICATOR
Anti-viral tissues are provided with a pH indicator which can communicate to a tissue user by means of visual indicia, via color changes, that the tissue has active ingredients. Furthermore, the pH indicators can be used to illustrate neutralization of the pH of infected nasal discharge, which has a higher pH than healthy nasal discharge, giving the user a reason to believe that the product is working to deactivate virus.
