The disclosure is directed at a blank fire bullet trap attachment (BFBTA) that provides improved protection for firearm users when live ammunition is accidently loaded into the firearm. There is provided a flash suppressor for use with a firearm to attenuate muzzle flash. The flash suppressor can be used in conjunction with attachments, and provides mounting and alignment means therefore. An indirect gas operating system for an M4 type automatic or semi-automatic firearm. The indirect gas operating system has a gas block having a cylinder. A launcher which can be readily converted for use by either a right-handed or left-handed shot. The launcher has a receiver with upper and lower extensions extending forwardly from the receiver body.
