Abstract
An osteosynthesis system includes a bone plate and a segment. The bone plate includes a plurality of passages for bone screws and at least one web. The segment includes at least one passage for a screw. The segment has a clip-like configuration and can be snapped onto the web of the bone plate. The segment also has an upper half and a lower half and is fastened on the web of the bone plate with a force-locked connection by moving the upper and lower halves toward each other. The upper and the lower halves are moved towards each other by introducing a screw into the at least one passage of the segment.

Abstract
The present invention relates generally to a bio-degradable implant based on magnesium having a reduced corrosion rate and to a method for the production of such an implant. It is a a method for treating a surface of a bio-degradable metallic implant comprising the following steps: providing a dispersed system comprising a colloid-dispersed apatite and adding an apatite powder to the dispersed system, subjecting an implant to the dispersed system such that a surface of the implant which is to be treated is immersed in the dispersed system wherein the implant comprises a magnesium based alloy, applying an AC voltage difference between the implant as a first electrode and a second electrode positioned in the dispersed system for generating a plasma electrolytic oxidation on the immersed surface of the implant so that the immersed surface is converted to an oxide film which is at least partially covered by apatites formed by the colloid-dispersed apatite and the apatite powder. The evolution of corrosion induced hydrogen gas evolution is decreased and osseointegration is improved.

Abstract
The invention relates to a connecting element for modular components of implants, in which the implant modules, such as the proximal and distal components, are interconnected by means of a mounting screw. The front surfaces of the connecting element and the contact surfaces of the implant module facing towards said front surfaces are embodied as conical surfaces which change the axial stress applied by the mounting screw in the conical contact surfaces into corresponding radial or annular stress for connecting the components. The conical surfaces are annular and embodied as double conical surfaces having an outer and an inner cone.

Abstract
The invention relates to a modular component (1) to be combined with implant components, preferably for hip or shoulder joint prostheses. The invention is cage-shaped, partially enclosing the implant components at a distance therefrom, and is arranged in such a way that the invention allows bone structures and tissue structures to be rigidly fixed in order to embed the implant components in an anatomically and biomechanically correct manner, wherein the distance can be defined in such a way that the resulting intermediate space or cavity can be used to attach bone fragments, tissue fragments, and/or biomaterials and bone substitute materials.

Abstract
2 coating shows excellent properties in terms of antibacterial efficacy (even against multi-resistant strains), adhesion and biocompatibility. The life-time of an implant in a human body is increased. The antibacterial coating can be used in the field of traumatology, orthopaedic, osteosynthesis and/or endoprothesis, especially where high infection risk exists.

Abstract
The aim of the invention is to increase the number of possible uses of previously known bone plates and to increase their flexibility of manipulation. The invention relates to a bone plate (1) comprising a lower side (3) that rests against the bone and an upper side (2) that is opposite the bone, in addition to a plurality of holes that are provided, essentially, along the longitudinal axis of the plate, through which bone screws, which are to be anchored to the bone, can be inserted. At least one of said holes is a continuous hole (4). Thread grooves (5) are provided in the continuous hole. An additional embodiment of the inventive bone plate (1) is characterised in that the thread grooves (5), when seen in the direction transversal to the plane of the upper side (2), are arranged only over one part of the depth of the oblong hole (4) and in said direction, above or below the thread grooves (5), a smooth walled support structure (6) for a positive fit with a correspondingly configured negative structure is provided on a screw head of a bone screw.
