Abstract

A bias correction means performs first bias correction operation where a first operation is performed by comparing a first charged current value, which is detected when a first charged bias is applied as an initial set value, with a target charged current value, and determining a second charged bias based on the comparison results. Then, in the first bias correction operation, a second operation is performed by comparing a second charged current value, which is detected when a second charged bias is applied, with a target charged current value, and determining a third charged bias based on the comparison results. In the first bias correction operation, the first operation and the second operation are repeated a predetermined number of times. Then, second bias correction operation is performed by correcting a charged bias obtained as a result of first bias correction operation based on photosensitive body information about the temperature of a photosensitive body.

Abstract

A system and method for trapping in electrophotographic color printing and related technologies for printing or display in which the final image is an overlay of multiple components subject to alignment errors. Trapping is based on the cyan (C), magenta (M), and black (K) planes. There are four steps as follows: detect object edges on each of the four color planes; detect coincident and opposing edge transitions on each pair of planes (CM, CK, and KM); determine which plane to trap, i.e., to extend object across edge; and generate trap on that plane using a simple trap generation rule and a single trap generation rule.

Abstract

An optical scanning device is constituted such that the angle of the reflecting surface of the final reflecting mirror arranged in the optical path of such one of four optical beams corresponding to the individual colors of black, cyan, magenta and yellow as corresponds to a black image of the lowest brightness but a high visibility is the closest to a vertical, and such that the angle of the reflecting surface of the final reflecting mirror arranged in the optical path of the optical beam corresponding to a yellow image of the highest brightness but a low visibility is the closest to a horizon. The color image, which is formed by reflecting the optical beam having passed through a correcting lens with the final reflecting mirror, is reduced in its color deviation.

Abstract

An optical scanner in which the number of folding mirrors disposed in the optical path of the light beam corresponding to the yellow image whose brightness is highest and whose visibility is lowest is largest out of four light beams corresponding to the four colors: cyan, magenta, yellow, and black, and in which the number of folding mirrors disposed in the optical path of the light beam corresponding to the black image whose brightness is lowest and whose visibility is highest is smallest. Therefore, the color variation of the color image attributed to the folding of the light beam by the folding mirrors can be reduced.
