Abstract
A method for handling plate-carrying sleeves for flexo printing, comprising the steps of providing a predetermined number of plate-carrying sleeves (5), providing a predetermined number of flexo printing plates (6), providing graphical representations (13,14) of each of said flexo printing plates (6), each of which comprising respective printing areas (15), detecting the geometric and dimensional parameters of each of said plate-carrying sleeves (5), determining, on the surface of each of said plate-carrying sleeves (5), a plurality of first surface areas (16) within given dimensional tolerances and of second surface areas (17) not within said dimensional tolerances, said distinct first and second areas (16,17) being identified on a respective plane development (18,19) of said sleeve (5), virtually overlapping each of said graphical representations (13,14) of said flexo printing plates (6) and of each of said plane developments (18,19) of said sleeve (5), so as to obtain a given number of combinations, for each of said combinations, comparing said printing areas (15) of said graphical representation (13,14) with the different surface areas (16,17) of said plane development (18,19), for each of said flexo printing plates (6), selecting the combination plate (6) sleeve (5) with the minimum overlapping between said second surface areas (17) and said printing areas (15).

Abstract
An assembly (1) for detecting geometric parameters of supports (2) for printing plates (A), the supports (2) being constituted by a substantially cylindrical body (3) surmounted by at least one additional layer generally constituted by double adhesive tape (4). The assembly (1) comprises at least one sensor (6), which is aligned with at least one portion of the outer surface of the support (2) to be analyzed to detect the shape of the outer surface of the double adhesive tape (4) that surmounts the cylindrical body (3).

Abstract

Abstract
An apparatus (1) for checking geometric parameters of printing assemblies (2) consisting of flexographic printing plates (3) mounted on respective cylinders (4), of flexographic printing plates (3) mounted on respective printing plate sleeves (5) and of inking cylinders/sleeves; the apparatus (1) comprises at least one sensor (7), which faces at least one portion (8) of the outer surface of the printing assembly (2) to be analyzed. The sensor (7) is designed to detect the distance between the sensor (7) itself and the surface to be analyzed, and is arranged at a fixed and known distance from the pivoting and mounting axis (9) of the printing assembly (2).

Abstract
A machine for in-register mounting of flexographic printing plates with a virtual data-processing system, having a supporting footing for a printing plate cylinder, on which a respective flexographic printing plate is mounted, suitable for printing a predefined image, and at least one television camera, which is connected to a monitor, is trained onto the cylinder and can slide parallel to the cylinder to check correct positioning-mounting of the printing plate, the television camera being associated with position sensors and connected to a device for the real-time processing and display of at least one composite image, for allowing the operator to perform precise position comparisons for optimum plate mounting between a preprocessed graphical reproduction of the image to be printed, provided on a digital memory composed of graphical memory associated with position measurements, and the position of the printing plate.
