Abstract

To increase a co-efficient of effective wall length of a wooden load-bearing wall, without additionally attaching a reinforcement material or a stiffening material, and without increasing a specific gravity and/or a board thickness of a gypsum-based board. A gypsum-based load-bearing board 10 exhibits a lateral nail resistance of 500 N or more and includes a main material or a core material formed from a board-shaped hardened gypsum containing an inorganic fiber and an organic-based strength-enhancer; and a paper covering at least front and back surfaces the main material or the core material. The load-bearing board has a surface density in a range from 6.5 to 8.9 kg/m2 and a compressive strength of 6.5 N/mm2 or more, and exhibits an ultimate displacement (5u) of more than 20xl0-3 rad and an initial stiffness (K) of 2.0 kN/10~3 rad or more measured by an in-plane shear test of the load-bearing wall. Accordingly, the plastic modulus (p) is increased not only by increasing the ultimate displacement but also by reducing the yield point displacement (5v), thereby effectively or efficiently increasing the co¬ efficient of effective wall length and the short¬ term reference shear strength (P0) of the wooden load-bearing wall

Abstract

The present invention increases the wall scale factor of a wooden structure bearing wall without additionally attaching a reinforcing material or stiffener, and without increasing the specific gravity and/or sheet thickness of a gypsum-based surface material. A gypsum-based bearing surface material (10) for a wooden structure bearing wall is configured from: a main material or a core material comprising a plate-shaped gypsum cured body in which inorganic fibers and an organic-based strength-improving material are blended so as to exhibit a nail-side surface resistance of 500 N or greater; and a paper member covering at least front and back surfaces of the main material or core material. This bearing surface material has a surface density within a range of 6.5-8.9 kg/m2, and, in an in-plane shearing test, exhibits a final displacement (?u2) greater than 20×10-3 rad and a final bearing capacity (corrected value) (Pu') greater than 7.6 kN. By using a wooden structure bearing wall in which this bearing surface material is used, a short-term standard shearing bearing capacity (P0) that is greater than that of a wooden structure bearing wall, in which is used the same type of bearing surface material having a surface density of 9.0 kg/m2 or greater, is obtained.

Abstract

The purpose of the present invention is to prevent the occurrence of a flow rate difference or a specific gravity difference in gypsum slurry between gypsum slurry delivery ports, and to divert a slurry flow and sufficiently ensure a separation distance between the slurry delivery ports without forming a slurry accumulation element in a branch part. A slurry delivery conduit (10) comprises a straight conduit path (14), a branch part (15), and branch conduit paths (16). A conduit wall joining part (20) of the branch conduit paths forms a V-shaped countercurrent dividing element (22) in the branch part. Gypsum slurry in a kneading area (51) is introduced into the straight conduit path forming a straight flow path. The straight conduit path rectifies the flow of the gypsum slurry into an axial flow or a straight flow (S), and the axial flow or the straight flow is divided into branched flows (S1 and S2) by the countercurrent dividing element.

Abstract

The present invention makes it possible for gypsum slurry to be uniformly and sufficiently kneaded in a kneading area of a scraper type mixer. This mixer has a circular housing (20) forming a kneading area (10a) in which gypsum slurry is to be kneaded, a rotating disc (32) arranged inside the housing and rotating in a prescribed rotating direction, a rotating drive shaft (30) integrally connected to the rotating disc, a plurality of scrapers (50) arranged in the kneading area, and a slurry discharging port (40) disposed in a circular ring wall (23) of the housing to supply the gypsum slurry in the kneading area onto a base paper (1) for a gypsum board. The opening of the slurry discharging port is divided into a plurality of narrow openings (48, 48'), thereby increasing the flow resistance of the gypsum slurry flowing out from the kneading area. An annular base (70) which rotates integrally with the rotating disc is arranged concentrically with the center of rotation (10b) of the rotating disc, in the kneading area, and inner ends of the scrapers are fixed to the annular base. The scrapers are bent or curved backward in the rotating direction of the rotating disc.

Abstract

The purpose of the present invention is to promptly and reliably detect, through a simple arrangement, sizing defects in the face paper and the back paper of gypsum board in a gypsum board production process. A light-emitting part (51, 52) is situated at one side of a continuous laminate (W). The light-emitting part (51, 52) illuminates the edge of the continuous laminate (W) with laser light (ß) extending in a direction intersecting the direction of transport of a casting belt (40). A light receiving part (53, 54) for receiving the laser light (ß) of the light-emitting part (51, 52) is situated in opposition to the light-emitting part (51, 52), at the opposite side of the continuous laminate (W). The laser light (ß) passes at least partially through the upper side of the upper face of the continuous laminate (W), and is partially blocked by a protuberance at the edge of the continuous laminate (W). On the basis of a decline in the quantity of received light by a predetermined value or by a predetermined percentage or more, a control device (70) determines that a sizing defect has occurred, and creates a display or alert regarding the occurrence of the sizing defect, by a display means or an alerting means (71, 72).

Abstract

The present invention provides: a debris processing composition for use in separating earth and/or sand from debris to which the earth and/or sand have stuck; and a debris processing method. This debris processing composition contains 0.1 to 10 parts by mass of a polymer flocculant relative to 100 parts by mass of gypsum, wherein: the BSA specific surface area of the gypsum is 15000cm2/g or less; and the polymer flocculant takes the form of a powder that comprises at least 95% of particles having diameters of 200µm or less. This debris processing method comprises: a processing step for adding 10 to 100kg of gypsum and 0.01 to 10kg of a polymer flocculant to 1 m3 of debris to which earth and/or sand have stuck, and kneading the obtained mixture; and a separation step for separating the kneaded mixture into the debris and the earth and/or sand. The present invention makes it possible to separate earth and/or sand from debris to which the earth and/or sand have stuck, easily, simply and efficiently without exerting a bad influence on the environment, such separation being a prerequisite for the disposal of an enormous amount of debris produced through the mingling of the objects destroyed and torn by strong force of tsunami or the like with the earth and/or sand carried by tsunami or the like.

Abstract

A mixing and stirring device for gypsum slurry has a circular casing forming a mixing area, a rotary disc positioned in the casing, and a tubular passage for feeding the slurry onto the sheet of paper for gypsum board liner. A chute has a fluid passage portion with its cross section being non-axisymmetric with respect to a center axis of the tubular passage, or a fluid passage portion varying a position of the center axis of the tubular passage by means of change or lateralization of the cross section of fluid passage. An axisymmetric vortex flow generated in the tubular passage as an intratubular swirling flow is broken down at the fluid passage portion, and therefore, its swirling motion, which may possibly result in the ununiformity or instability of the density distribution, substantially disappears in the slurry spouting onto the sheet of paper.

Abstract

Disclosed is a process for the continuous modification of dihydrate gypsum. The process includes a hemihydration step of calcining the dihydrate gypsum as a raw material into hemihydrate gypsum and a recrystallization step of hydrating and recrystallizing the hemihydrate gypsum in an aqueous slurry to convert the hemihydrate gypsum into modified dihydrate gypsum of a crystalline form different from the dihydrate gypsum as the raw material. In the recrystallization step, the aqueous slurry in a recrystallization reaction tank is maintained at a constant temperature under stirring such that the aqueous slurry becomes uniform, and a feed rate of the hemihydrate gypsum to the recrystallization reaction tank and a discharge rate of the recrystallized and modified dihydrate gypsum from the recrystallization reaction tank are controlled such that the feed rate and the discharge rate become substantially equal to each other, whereby the feeding of the hemihydrate gypsum and the discharging of the recrystallized and modified dihydrate gypsum are conducted continuously or intermittently. According to the process, dihydrate gypsum as a starting raw material can be converted into high-purity, modified dihydrate gypsum of large crystals by recrystallizing the starting dihydrate gypsum after it is once calcined into hemihydrate gypsum although such modified dihydrate gypsum is not available in general.

The invention provides a whetstone type of scoring device for production of gypsum boards which can accurately and stably form a groove of a constant depth on a sheet of paper for gypsum board liner, and which can prevent wear of a rotary blade and a backing block. The scoring device (11) for a gypsum board production machine (10) has the rotary blade (24) and the backing block (30). The sheet (3) travels under tension over the block (30), which abuts against the lower surface of the sheet. The block has an opening (32) immediately under the blade. The lower surface of the sheet is released downward by the opening. The sheet is ground by a blade edge (24a) while being slightly bent downward within a range of the opening (within an intimate contact area of an angle .beta.).

Abstract

The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a calcined gypsum wherein the mixing water amount is reduced and the setting time does not increase. As a raw gypsum is compounded with a carboxylic acid-type material and calcined, a calcined gypsum can be manufactured wherein the mixing water amount is small and the setting time does not increase. Furthermore, a regular gypsum board can be manufactured without reducing the productivity of the gypsum board even if a large quantity of recycled gypsum causing increase of the mixing water amount is used as a raw gypsum, because the mixing water amount is small and the setting time does not increase for the calcined gypsum manufactured as described above.

Abstract

Perforations of a board for building material are formed by a number of recesses (13), or a number of recesses (13) and through-holes (12). A bottom face (16) of the recess forms a face for screwing or driving the fixing element (70) thereto. A color of the bottom face is set to have a brightness of color decreased in comparison with a color of a surface (18) of the board. A substrate of the board is a gypsum board and the bottom face of the recess is formed by a liner paper for gypsum board. According to such a board, a region for screwing or driving the fixing element thereto can be ensured without impairing regularity, uniformity or architectural design of the perforations, and putty finishing or the like for an exposed part of the fixing element can be omitted.
