Abstract

A holding device for a motor vehicle sensor system, including a frame attached to a structural element of a motor vehicle and a sensor holder configured to hold sensors. First/second pivoting brackets are mounted on first/second sides of the frame to be pivotable about a first/second pivot axis. First/second guide element of the first/second pivoting bracket are accommodated in at least one first/second guiding receptacle of the sensor holder. A pre-tensioning mechanism pre-tensions the first/second pivoting brackets into a usage position by applying a predetermined force onto the sensor holder to overcome the pre-tension so that the sensor holder can be lowered along a movement direction in the direction of the frame, such that a first distance between the first pivot axis and the second pivot axis is smaller than a second distance between the at least one guiding receptacle and the at least one second guiding receptacle.

Abstract

A method of a transportation vehicle for context-dependent processing of a potential error of a vehicle component. The method includes determining a current context of the transportation vehicle and of at least one vehicle component of the transportation vehicle that is heterogeneous in the current context. In response to at least one heterogeneous vehicle component being determined, a heterogeneous verification of the potential error is performed taking into account the at least one heterogeneous vehicle component. In response to no heterogeneous vehicle component being determined, a context-dependent relevance of the vehicle component is determined. Based on the determined context-dependent relevance, then either the potential error of the vehicle component is handled or an emergency operating mode of the transportation vehicle is initiated. Also disclosed is a transportation vehicle having a control unit to perform the method.

Abstract

A method of heating a catalytic converter of an internal combustion engine, wherein the method comprises the steps of: igniting the gas charge in one of the cylinders in a range from 10° CA before ignition top dead center to 20° CA after ignition top dead center; and opening the exhaust valve of the cylinder exhaust of the cylinder in a range from 30° CA to 55° CA after ignition top dead center. The method allows the catalytic converter of the internal combustion engine to quickly reach operating temperature and thus contributes to the reduction of pollutant emissions. An internal combustion engine is also provided that is designed to carry out the method of the invention for heating a catalytic converter.

Abstract

A method for operating a transportation vehicle having a high-voltage on-board electrical system and a low-voltage on-board electrical system connected by a DC-to-DC converter. The high-voltage on-board electrical system is connected by a switching unit to a battery unit having two subregions able to be connected electrically in series and electrically in parallel by an interconnection unit. In the method, the switching unit is opened, and the subregions are connected electrically in parallel by the interconnection unit. Electrical energy is channeled from the high-voltage on-board electrical system to the low-voltage on-board electrical system by the DC-to-DC converter reducing the voltage of the high-voltage on-board electrical system. In response to the voltage of the high-voltage on-board electrical system differing from the voltage present at the battery unit by no more than a tolerance value, the switching unit is closed. Also disclosed is a transportation vehicle and a computer program product.

The invention is further related to a vehicle equipped with an automated driving function, which makes use of such a method or apparatus. In a first step, a predictive quality of service for a communication between the vehicle and a control center for a route driven in a tele-operated driving session is analyzed (10). Bases on this analysis, a section of the route for which an indirect control shall be used is determined (11). Furthermore, control data to be used by the vehicle in the determined section of the route are determined (12). At least the control data are then sent (13) to the vehicle before or after initiating a tele-operated driving session with direct control of the vehicle.

Abstract

Approaches, techniques, and mechanisms are disclosed for improving carbon footprint of electric vehicles and/or homes. A time window when an electric vehicle connects with a charging station is determined. The charging station is connected with a grid from which the charging station is configured to draw electricity to charge the electric vehicle. An electricity demand of the electric vehicle is predicted based on a current state of charge (SoC) of batteries of the electric vehicle. Costs for drawing electricity from the grid during time intervals are computed. The time window is partitioned into a plurality of time intervals including the time intervals. An optimized schedule for performing operations with the batteries is generated based on the costs. The operations include those used to charge the electric vehicle to satisfy the predicted electricity demand of the electric vehicle.

Abstract

A monocell and a method for producing a monocell for a battery cell. In this method, a first separator film, an anode film, a second separator film, and a cathode film are stacked in this sequence to form a film layer arrangement and fed to a thermal cutting process. The cutting of the film layer arrangement is accomplished by a thermal cutting method, wherein a first metal coating on the anode film and a second metal coating on the cathode film vaporize in the cut region. The plastic substrate of the anode melts partially and spreads over the cut surface of the first anode layer and electrically insulates the same. The plastic substrate of the cathode melts partially and spreads over the cut surface of the first cathode layer and electrically insulates the same.

Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a method, to a computer program comprising instructions, and to a device for environment sensing in a vehicle. For the environment sensing, environment data are recorded by means of at least one vehicle sensor. A prediction is calculated by means of a trained machine learning model based on the recorded environment data, wherein the prediction includes a measure of uncertainty for the prediction. Equally, a deviation value is determined for the recorded environment data that provides a measure of how significantly the recorded environment data deviate from training data for the machine learning model. At least one conformity score is determined based on the measure of uncertainty and the deviation value and then a prediction set is determined based on the at least one determined conformity score. Then, a control signal is generated depending on the determined prediction set.
