System and method are disclosed for scanning, testing and imaging of large area objects. The system and method include using two positioning system adapted to locate a transmitter and an imager against each other on the other side of a tested or a scanned large object. The system and method further adapted to locate the transmitter against the imager based on location indications received from the positioning systems. The system and method are further adapted to partition a tested area into sub-sections and to automatically move the transmitter and the imager in a coordinated manner so as to obtain one image for each partition and to compose an image of the tested object from the images of the sub-sections.
