Abstract

A process of linking newly submitted unsolicited electronic tips to public-safety data including public-safety cases and tips. An electronic tip processing system correlates a newly received unsolicited electronic tip with public-safety cases. A correlation score is assigned to each public-safety case. The system selects a public-safety case which has a correlation score greater than or equal to a threshold. The system then presents a notification to a case supervisor assigned to the selected public-safety case. The notification indicates availability of new tip information to the case supervisor and also requests the case supervisor to review and validate whether the new tip information including the unsolicited electronic tip is relevant to the public-safety case. When a response received from the case supervisor indicates that the electronic tip is validated by the case supervisor as being relevant to the public-safety case, the system links the unsolicited electronic tip to the public-safety case.

Abstract

A process for securely pairing devices. A host device receives an input indicating a user credential for logging into the host device and initiates a scanning process for discovering target devices available for pairing with the host device. During the scanning process, the host device receives wireless pairing information from a target device. The wireless pairing information includes a unique device identifier associated with the target device and an electronic signature generated as a function of a signature key stored at the target device and the unique device identifier. The host device compares the electronic signature with a run-time signature generated at the host device as a function of the user credential received at the host device and the unique device identifier. The host device then initiates a pairing process to establish a short-range communication link with the target device when the electronic signature matches with the run-time signature.

Abstract

A portable radio (100) provides a voice control feature which advantageously enables radio users to perform talk group changes by using voice as an input medium to the radio device. Activation of a voice control button (110) and verbal entry of a valid talk group control command enables a change in talk group. The portable radio (100) comprises a controller (102) having a code plug (120) pre-programmed with a plurality of talk group alias names, and an automatic speech recognition (ASR) engine (118) providing voice control entry detection to the portable radio. The controller (102) enables a change in talk group in response to the ASR engine (118) detecting that the voice control entry is a valid talk group control command. Shortened audible confirmations of talk group change are generated using the alias names.

Abstract

ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A lens assembly includes a lens with a lens barrel and a lens mount assembly. The lens mount assembly includes a lens mount barrel and a protrusion. First threads on the lens barrel and second threads on the lens mount barrel are shaped to permit the lens barrel and the lens mount barrel to be screwed together. The protrusion is positioned to interfere with at least one of the first and second threads as the lens barrel and the lens mount barrel are being screwed together. This interference resists rotation of the lens barrel relative to the lens mount barrel, thereby reducing the likelihood that the lens will be inadvertently screwed or unscrewed away from a desired depth. Abstract

A method and subscriber unit provide mission critical talkgroup service while minimizing truncation and delay when at least one member talkgroup radio is on a Broadband LTE (Long Term Evolution) system. A dual-mode subscriber unit preferably obtains LMR coverage map data to predict the entry point and remaining duration for when the subscriber unit will operate in the backup LTE system. The subscriber unit falls back to the LTE system when the subscriber unit is out of the coverage area of the LMR system. Because the subscriber unit set the connected state prior to using the LTE network and continuously optimizes RRC mode parameters, audio truncation and call delay are greatly reduced without draining the battery of the subscriber unit.

Abstract

A method and converged LMR/LTE communications device provide for minimizing interference in the converged LMR/LTE communications device that operates in a land mobile radio (LMR) narrowband communication system and a long term evolution (LTE) broadband communication system. The converged LMR/LTE communications device detects, using an electronic processing device, that the converged LMR/LTE communications device is operating in the first LTE band and the first LMR band. The converged LMR/LTE communications device determines that a first LMR received signal strength indicator (RSSI) at the converged LMR/LTE communications device is less than a first LMR threshold signal strength and disables at least one LTE application based upon the first LMR RSSI being less than the LMR threshold signal strength.

Abstract

Methods, systems, and techniques for tracing callstacks, the results of which can be used to identify a source of a memory leak. A memory heap is sampled at different times to determine counts of respective allocations of different allocations at the different times. From the counts of the respective allocations at the different times, rates at which the respective allocations have changed over the different times, and which of the rates is equal to or greater than a leak indication rate, are determined. Callstacks for respective allocations of the different allocation sizes for each of the rates that is equal to or greater than the leak indication rate are traced. The results of the tracing may be used during debugging to identify the source of the memory leak.

Abstract

Methods, systems, and techniques for performing object detection using a convolutional neural network (CNN) involve obtaining an image and then processing the image using the CNN to generate a first feature pyramid and a second feature pyramid from the first pyramid. The second pyramid includes an enhanced feature map, which is generated by combining an upsampled feature map and a feature map of the first feature pyramid that has a corresponding or lower resolution of a resolution of the enhanced feature map. The upsampled feature map is generated by upsampling a feature map of the second feature pyramid that is at a shallower position in the CNN than the enhanced feature map. The enhanced feature map is split into channel feature maps of different resolutions, with each of the channel feature maps corresponding to channels of the enhanced feature map. Object detection is performed on the channel feature maps.

Abstract

Methods, systems, and techniques for monitoring an object-of-interest within a region involve receiving at least data from two sources monitoring a region and correlating that data to determine that an object-of-interest depicted or represented in data from one of the sources is the same object-of-interest depicted or represented in data from the other source. Metadata identifying that the object-of-interest from the two sources is the same object-of-interest is then stored for later use in, for example, object tracking.

Abstract

An input audio signal is monitored at an electronic digital assistant of an electronic computing device. The assistant determines that the audio signal includes audio from multiple speaking parties, identifies first and second parties of the multiple parties and roles of the parties, accesses a database of multi-party interaction templates and selects, as a function of the roles of the parties, a particular multi-party interaction template that matches the roles, and then generates, based on a detected content of the audio signal and the particular multi-party interaction template, a database query to retrieve information responsive to or supplemental to content of the audio signal. The assistant then causes the query to be performed results of the query provided to the first party, the second party, a dispatcher or administrator associated with the parties, or a computer-aided-dispatch system associated with the parties.

Abstract

A computer apparatus, such as a validator node, for validating incident-related data records in a distributed electronic ledger is configured to receive a request from an agent to add a proposed incident-related data record associated with an incident to the distributed electronic ledger. In response to the proposed incident-related data record, the computer apparatus determines, from the distributed electronic ledger, one or more attributes of the agent or incident. The computer apparatus determines whether the proposed incident-related data record satisfies validation criteria based at least partially on the one or more attributes of the agent or incident. Once validated, the computer apparatus may then append the proposed incident-related data record to the distributed electronic ledger. Alternatively, the proposed incident-related data record may be appended regardless of validity, but an indication of validity may be appended if the proposed incident-related data record is validated.

Abstract

Methods, systems, and techniques for classifying an object-of-interest using an artificial neural network, such as a convolutional neural network. An artificial neural network receives a sample image including the object-of-interest overlaying a background and a sample background image excluding the object-of-interest and corresponding to the background overlaid by the object-of-interest. The object-of-interest is classified using the artificial neural network. The artificial neural network classifies the object-of-interest using the sample background and sample images. Prior to receiving the sample background and sample images the artificial neural network has been trained to classify the object-of-interest using training image pairs. Each of at least some of the training image pairs includes a first training image that includes a training object-of-interest overlaying a training background and a training background image excluding the training object-of-interest and corresponding to the training background.

Abstract

A device, system and method for correcting operational device errors is provided. A memory stores first operational data associated with first context data and a first device, the first operational data indicative of how a given user action is performed at the first device to implement a given function defined by the first context data. A controller receives data indicative of a user action at a second device; when the data does not correspond to a respective function at the second device, and when current context data of the second device corresponds to the first context data of the first device, an intended function for the user action is identified by comparing the data with the first operational data. When a correspondence occurs, operational information indicative of how to implement the given function at the second device is retrieved and provided at one or more notification devices.

Abstract

There are described methods and systems for facilitating identification of an object-of-interest. A face similarity score and a body similarity score of a query image relative to a gallery image are determined. A fused similarity score of the query image relative to the gallery image is determined by applying a relationship between the face similarity score, the body similarity score, and the fused similarity score. The fused similarity score is indicative of whether or not the object-of-interest and the potential object-of-interest are the same object-of-interest. For example, a machine learning process is used to fuse the face similarity score and the body similarity into the fused similarity score. The process is repeated for multiple gallery images. The gallery images may then be ranked according to their respective fused similarity scores.

Abstract

Method and device for responding to an audio inquiry. The electronic computing device monitors audio communications transmitted between communication devices that are members of a talk group on a talk group channel. The electronic computing device detects an audio inquiry from a first communication device and generates an audio content response to be provided in response to the audio inquiry. The electronic computing device determines based on one or both of the audio inquiry and the audio content response, and as a function of the context information, that the audio content response is to be individually provided to the first communication device. The electronic computing device then establishes a private call with the first communication device and provides the audio content response to the first communication device via the private call.
